    Unfortunately, my experience with Shy was not as positive as the other reviewers. I found Shy to be…read moreunresponsive and completely lacking in professionalism and ethics. She cancelled on me 3 times in the same week and then refused to return my deposit when I decided to go to a different provider who wouldn't cancel on me. I booked an appointment via her website, at which time I paid for the service in full. After initially confirming it, she canceled my appointment the day I was supposed to see her with no notice, until I messaged her inquiring about it. She said she would refund my $140 but asked me to pay her a $25 deposit for the new appointment. We rescheduled for 2 days later, and she again canceled the morning of the appointment asking if we could reschedule for 2 days later. She ignored multiple texts asking what time to come. On the day of the tentative appointment, she messaged asking if we could again move it to the next day. I explained I couldn't because I'd been trying to schedule all week with her to get it done before a weekend event, and I asked for my deposit back. She refused to return it, citing the fact that her son had been ill. While I sympathize with having a sick kid, it's unprofessional to repeatedly cancel appointments the same day and then penalize the client for your own schedule conflicts. Clients are paying for the service to be on a certain day and time, not just whenever the business owner feels like it. The point of a deposit is to protect the business owner from late cancelations by clients, not the other way around. I'm now out $165 for a service I never received due to no fault of my own.
