The store is usually quiet and we don't have to wait long when we go in to pick up our order, or grab something to celebrate from the case. They have some last minute party supplies which can be clutch at times. The cakes are amazing. Beautiful special orders and straight from the case, they will add on any messaging you like. Ultimately, the price is about the same as a Kroger/ Costco cake so why not be fancy and ENJOY every piece of that beautiful creation. Our family orders them for every birthday- except one because she asks for apple pie- and the cake never goes to waste. At least one slice is enjoyed by a member of the family every day until it is gone. We are also able to accommodate for our picky kiddos by ordering a cupcake when they don't like the cake flavor their sibling has picked for their birthday. read more

I just ordered a quarter sheet cake for a birthday. I kept thinking that something was different, other than the decorations were rather plain compared to past cakes. THEN SUDDENLY it hit me! It was smaller! I checked it out and quarter sheet cakes are supposed to be 9×13. This cake was 11× slightly over 7 inches. The way I see it, that is quite a bit of cake. And I still paid $36 for it. Wow! Everything was homemade and hit it out of the park with flavor. For instance- the shrimp & grits - everyone has their own spin on this (if you know me - it's one of my "go-tos"). This one had Buffalo shrimp, hollandaise and a sunny side up egg. Also a drizzle of basil pesto (I think) - which was a real fresh pop. The carrot cake I ordered while beautiful was horrible. The cake was so dense that at first we thought it was frozen. There was no texture and tasted just plain horrible. Mind you we paid $150.00 for these two cakes! Ridiculous and a Rip off! Never again! I am unsure what has changed here; or if they sold the business to a diff company or just what... has occurred from many years ago when the business was delicious VS; today when the cakes taste terrible, they get the orders incorrect, and their prices are sky high! In the notes section i requested changes to the color of the icing and the cake turned out beautiful ! My favorite cake flavor is strawberry and their almond frosting is delicious. My only reason i don't rate them as a five is because they don't offer gluten free cake and also I've ordered custom cakes before from then and they turned out terribly .. their cakes are delicious , but their designs aren't the greatest if you get anything that's not basic. This was my grandchild's first birthday cake she got to order for her 7th birthday. She picked out the cake, colors and design. We purchased a 1/4 sheet cake at the price of $45.00. I picked up the cake, too kit home and put it in the refrigerator. I'd like to add that I had a cake business in the 80's and 90's so I'm very aware of decorating a cake. The next day we took the cake to the party and as it sat on the table the sides started falling off. Big, big disappointment. So I went into the shop on Monday and got a girl with no personality or customer service. First she wanted to give me a refund and went to the backroom. She came back and said she couldn't give me a full refund as I ate the cake. But seriously, could I tell a bunch of 7 year olds there will be no cake as I have to take it back. So I am very disappointed in their customer service and standing by their product. I'll look for another bakery. read more

When I walked into the shop one young lady was standing behind the counter while two others where sitting cross legged on the stainless steel prep tables in the back room, shoes on the tables, belongings like purse etc sprawled across the tables while playing on their cell phones. Smaller bakery selection than most but still a cute shop. The icing on the bakery gives off a clear liquid once taken out the case which I was made aware of, Kinda weird but didn't effect the taste. The icing is very similar to the cake shop down the road. Both very good. The white cake itself was a little more vanilla ish tasting than others. Slightly pricier than other bakeries. We were bored of eating the same flavors asked if the person could help me pick out nice combinations of filling and cake type for a very special birthday cake. When I asked for possible recommendations , without a pause she recited the entire menu card to me. First-- thank you Ele for saving me in a complete pinch. A preordered cake from Walmart was supposed to be ready by 5:00 PM on Tuesday for a work gathering on Wednesday. No cake when I arrived and the alternative options for what was available in Walmart's stock was pretty bleak-- made worse by the feeble lettering attempt by a deli worker who doesn't even work in the bakery. Deep sigh. Total first world problems, but an embarrassment none the less. By the grace of the cake gods, Ele is open until 7:00PM during the week. I called and found out that they did have a 1/4 sheet cake in chocolate. I live a short distance from the Beavercreek store and in no time I was there. Within minutes I found the perfect cake. A trained cake decorating knowledgeable staff member in no time had the birthday greeting tastefully piped on and I was out the door-- a very happy customer. Still a bit anxious from the whole Walmart fiasco, I simply hoped and prayed that the cake I brought in would be perfect. Hands down-- a complete success! I've come to know and love this Ele location. While visiting my parents/siblings in Beavercreek, I would treat them and myself to delicious delectables from the display at Ele. The selection varies from season to season, but overall, the desserts are nom. I've also had my engagement cake made from Ele. The bakers can't accommodate fondant, but they do finish their cakes off with a super sweet, sugary buttercream. I don't care for buttercream, but I didn't hate it. I wanted to order cupcakes for my son's first birthday and believe it or not $1 a cupcake is the cheapest. So I wasn't too upset with the pricing until I was told its an extra $3 a dozen for tinted icing. I thought it was a bit ridiculous but I decided to do colored dusting instead at no extra charge. I went to pick up my cupcakes and was disappointed to find them all heaped into one huge sheet cake box without any separation to keep then neat. I wish they would use something to keep the cupcakes from touching. For as much as I spent I would have really appreciated it. Overall I'm pleased with the service and would use them again. I ordered a half sheet cake from the West Carrolton location for my daughters Frozen birthday party. They did an absolutely amazing job! It was an edible printed imagine and they said they would fill in the blank space with snowflakes. They did such a nice job! The added edible glitter to the edible imagine to make it look fancier, the snowflakes were multi layered and simply beautiful. We got so many compliments on the flavor! It was so moist and delicious. We ordered half strawberry swirl and half marble. The strawberry was so delicious. Such a natural strawberry flavor!
