Ely Walker is a historic building in the Washington Avenue Garment District. The 174-unit Ely Walker Lofts building is occupied by both renters and homeowners. Different real estate businesses own multiple loft apartments for rent, which make up the larger fraction. Owner-occupied loft apartments make up the smaller fraction. I reside here because I have an appreciation of the historic architecture, history of the neighborhood, and walkability of Downtown St. Louis. Professionals, artists, and creatives live and work in this area. The Ely Walker Lofts building is in the Washington Avenue Historic District and on the National Register of Historic Places. Buildings within and surrounding the Washington Avenue Historic District date from the late 1800s to the early 1920s. These buildings exhibit a variety of popular architectural styles of the period, and most are revival styles (Italianate, Romanesque, and Renaissance Revival styles), with Sullivanesque and Arts and Crafts influence, or the commercial style known as the Chicago School of architecture. Designed by prominent architecture firm Eames & Young, the Ely & Walker Dry Goods Co. warehouse was built in 1906 and 1907. The building has a grandiose presence and is defined by beautiful masonry, Beaux-Arts architecture, and an ornate terra-cotta facade with Classical Revival motifs. Founded in 1883, Ely & Walker Dry Goods Co. was a leading wholesale distributor, converter, and manufacturer of dry goods (fabrics and ready-to-wear clothing). From the late 1800s to the mid-1900s, St. Louis was renowned in the fashion industry, second only to New York City in garment production. St. Louis' fashion industry began a decline in the 1950s, as garment production shifted overseas. Ely & Walker Dry Goods Co. was acquired by Burlington Industries in 1955. The Ely & Walker warehouse later remained vacant for decades. In 2006 and 2007, Clayco, a full-service, design-build firm specializing in real estate, architecture, engineering, and construction, transformed the warehouse into 174 loft apartments, named Ely Walker Lofts, for $35 million. The industrial-style lofts have spacious open floor plans with high ceilings. The industrial design aesthetic includes exposed brick walls, columns, beams, ductwork, conduits, and copper and iron pipes. Kitchens have granite countertops, solid wood cabinets, and dishwashers. There are in-unit washers and dryers. Exterior windows give expansive views of the cityscape and neighboring historic buildings. Clerestory windows, on walls adjacent to the atrium, can allow natural light. Original hardwood floors were refurbished. The HVAC system is efficient. The furnace and air conditioner components are concealed behind removable ceiling panels, and in these components is an air filter that should be changed twice per year for regular maintenance and maximum efficiency. Water pressure is strong in the bathroom and kitchen. Water quickly reaches the desired hot or cold temperatures. The Ely Walker basement garage holds up to 90 vehicles, and spaces are individually owned and assigned. Some residents own or rent spaces in the Terra Cotta Parking Garage behind Ely Walker, which holds up to 258 vehicles and is shared with Annex Lofts and Terra Cotta Lofts. Ely Walker is within short walking proximity of: * City Museum * U.S. Post Office * Lucas Park (children's playground and dog park) * St. Louis Central Library * Ozzy's Market (bougie bodega and coffee/sandwich shop opening in August 2025) * variety of restaurants, bars, and coffee and tea shops A recycling drop-off site is nearby on Delmar Blvd. between 14th and 15th Streets, on the north side of the City Museum. Ely Walker does not have a private recycling dumpster. Five public single-stream recycling dumpsters on Delmar Blvd. are provided by Saint Louis City Recycles for residents of Downtown St. Louis. These lofts are gross. I wish I could get out of this lease. From the gross disgusting smell of animal feces, pissing urine to the smell of trash when entering the building of any time.. what makes it even worse they won't mop sweep clean anything as you walk in and people are sleeping in the back as you walk out. I moved in April 1, 2025 and I have roaches so badly that they come once a week and put down traps something they could've said to me before I leased the apartment. I honestly don't understand how they continue to lease these places out with the infestation that it has when you go into to dump your trash there are roaches everywhere so I don't go in there until I know a couple of people have scared the roaches. I wish I can post these pictures of roaches just piling up in the corner, waiting for us to cut a light on so they can scatter and I'm so angry that I have to come out of my own pocket to higher ORKIN for this building. I can't even invite people over or have a dinner party because of the smell with my friends and family come over is just disgusting. I hope that the owner are reading these reviews and that he may live in a better place, but had you given me a choice I would not have I'd be better and a little little rat box under the MetroLink downtown St. Louis. read more

Save yourself time and money and a giant headache and find another place to live. In a two week time span there was gun fire INSIDE the building and one of the neighbors was shot in the face. A car was stolen from inside the "secure" garage. Packages are stolen every day from our "secure" package area. Dog poop is always everywhere inside and outside of the building. Homeless people squat inside our "secure" building. No one seems to care even when management is alerted. Trash rooms on every floor aren't enough because people leave trash everywhere. Beds, dressers, old tv, they all pile up inside the building. And the trash rooms have cockroaches in them so if you live close to one be assured you will have them too. Summers are great for illegal rooftop parties and people breaking into the building, so much so that the building manager came out one night with a shotgun. Still not enough? What about the night over 50 police officers had to come and search the building because people were breaking in to make a video. Still not enough? A year ago a 16 year old was shot and killed in the lobby. Still not enough? Raw sewage leaked for weeks into some units making them uninhabitable and they still want to charge those people rent who moved out. Sewage was literally streaming into their units all days, every day for weeks. Their solution? Come in and just paint over it and the leak was visible a few days later. The roof has a beautiful view, but be careful up there because a neighbor lets her dog poop up there and management knows and does nothing. Want to work out? There is a gym. Great! But they keep locking the roof so you can't get to it. This place is a nightmare. read more

I just moved out of the building after 3 years and wanted to leave a review so there is a recent one. While there is new things popping up around Ely Walker (city SC stadium, the Victor, the Locust Athletic Club, etc.) , and the building itself has potential, I still do not recommend this place... My first red flag was when I moved in... I was shown a nice 1.5 bedroom unit that another couple was moving out of and loved it. But the day I moved in I was shown a one bedroom with a completely different layout. I asked for either a lower rent or the unit I was promised, and I never heard anything back... At one point my ceiling was leaking from my kitchen and then my bathroom and then it started leaking in the apartment under me and that's what it actually got fixed... because the condo manager of that apartment talked to the condo manager of the unit of above me. That is how messed up and unorganized this communication is. A 16 year old boy was shot in the lobby over a year ago, and 2 weeks later there was a domestic dispute in the lobby again with more guns and casualties involved.... and there has not been any improvement to the security of the building, despite residents suing the owners. I have not once seen a building manager in person. There is maybe a security guard like once every couple months on random Saturdays for a couple hours. The new door locking system they added to combat air bnb rental is a JOKE. You can just send someone a temporary code when they book to access all the doors... makes it even easier. Packages are stolen within hours of being delivered, and when asked to review the security footage the reply is "we delete the footage every day" even when the day is still in progress... There is always dog and human feces and urine around the building, on the building, directly outside the doors, in the stairwells, the elevators, and the lobby. I would just avoid any property owned/run by the STL CityWide group. They also own the Art Lofts across the street were homeless people were squatting in the supply closets and trying to break into residence apartments with machetes, as well as the SoHo in Soulard where illegal Airbnb hosts were leaving the garage door open leading to multiple cars Getting broken into. And of course, none of these places have increased their security after any of this issues were questioned.... Oh! And they're increasing rent due to all the exciting things around it! read more

If you want to live in a safe and clean building with management that truly cares about the residents then this is NOT the place. Currently there is sewage leaking in units, 2 shootings have happened in the last 3 weeks, residents are told they can't call police or else they risk eviction, and management often gives non-answers when questioned about legitimate issues happening at the building. There's other buildings downtown to live in. Don't choose this one. read more

Don't even waste your time! Overall building maintenance is horrible! Cleanliness issues this is a BIG problem the building is just beyond horrible. They allow the trash to pile up outside, inside of the building trash rooms on each floor, trash cans in the garage to the point this building has roaches in the apartments and in the hallways! I shouldn't be walking to my apartment door and I see roaches in the lobby crawling. People allow their pets to piss and poop in the elevator and don't even attempt to clean it up! Homeless people are steady getting in the building sleeping in halls, stairwell or even down into the garage to sleep. There was a homeless guy on my floor burning candles and smoking cigarettes in lobby one night it was very unsettling. This building is suppose to be "secured" you have app on your phone to get in every entrance plus move up and down on the elevator. Tenants have codes to give out to their guess allowing access to the build to visit but they are giving these codes out to guess letting them come down and part in the parking garage for paying tenants ONLY! Guess should park out on the street and not in the garage in a spot a tenant is paying for! Some floors are completely trash all the plants in the hall are dead! There has been a hoodie plus a couple of trash hanging from a beem on my floor for about 2 months now maintenance hasn't even attempted to get it down! Update 10: Still constant piles of dog feces around the building. Tough to enjoy the roof deck when it is covered in dog feces. Update 9: City inspector was going around inspecting most of the units because he's received so many complaints Update 8: Mold is still present under sink...Also found mold in HVAC system after turning on cooling system now that its getting warmer...took mold cultures...practically growing a new habitat...maintenance has not resolved either issue in over a week, one ticket was closed without being looked into. Update 7: Dishwasher AND sink backed up and flooded my place. Asked if they could come in the morning when I finally reached them. Update 6: Dishwasher backed up this time and flooded my kitchen...maintenance emergency line never picks up. Update 5: $300-500 fee to assign or sublet and the other person has to pay the "reservation" fee when applying..this company is a fucking scam lol Update 4: a teenager was shot and killed in the lobby last night..he didn't even live in the building This place is a nightmare, finding a Sublette or breaking the lease asap Update 3: they gave me a key to my apartment that works on the deadbolt but not the doorknob...can't get a hold of anyone Update 2: leak was never fixed, sink backs up with filthy water. Took 2 maintenance requests to fix the dishwasher. Constantly dodging dog shit on the sidewalk. Recent thefts in the building Update: maintenance put a new boars over the moldy board so now the mold is just creeping up around the new one...also noticed part of my cabinet is ducktaped on...what a joke lol Leasing wise I didn't receive the apartment shown, and didn't receive free parking as advertised. Don't think I was even shown the correct floor plan. Was also sent a picture of a bathroom with a tub, this bathroom has a standup shower. The apartment itself is really nice but, The floor of the cabinet under the sink is rotted through and saturated with water. Sink overflows with soap when neighbor uses dishwasher I think. Bathroom fan doesn't work. I can hear my neighbor snoring. Package carriers don't seem to use the package system, many thefts. The double doors in the back of the building are never locked which is a little sketchy and makes the fob I payed $25 dollars for kind of useless. I've been here 4 days and have seen 3 piles of dog crap in the lobby. Kind of laughable at this point honestly, like come on guys not impressed. read more

My husband and I recently went on a tour of the Ely Walker lofts on fanciful Washington Avenue. I had never liked lofts until we saw these. The price is not bad at all, and you get a lot of square footage for your money - square footage that is organized in smart ways. Everything here has been renovated, so don't worry about the fact that the building is over 100 years old! The floors became the focus of my love, as they simply must be recovered and are stylishly dingy with various pock marks on them. If you love artsy things, you will love these floors. The windows are also amazing, yet I bet that they are very drafty in the winter, and this is the lone reason that I am not giving 5 stars. Out of the four units we saw, the windows were all the same. They are huge and gorgeous, but drafty. I'm sure that this could be easily remedied, though. The kitchens and bathrooms in the units were all very lovely. If I had a few thousand in the bank, I think that I would have jumped in right then and there. Seriously, that is how cool this place is. The atrium is artistically amazing, there is a 3000+ square foot rooftop sundeck, a rec room and a fitness center. The ceilings all have the exposed ductwork and there is exposed brick walls. There are extra large elevators to bring up all of your furniture and you can purchase parking spots in the underground garage. Also, the building is connected to the same building as the London Tea Room. The Ely Walker Lofts has so many things going for it that I can't believe they are not sold out. I spend quite some time inside these lofts. Loft 207 in particular, a two bedroom two bath that has all stainless GE appliances with a built in wine cooler. The loft is custom built by the owners, she is an interior designer which polishes off this immaculate space. Overlooking Washington ave, you can't n hear much from the busy street or busy hallways. Ely walker has a decent 24 hour gym, rentable party room and community room with cable and game tables. These lofts have the best bang for your buck in the downtown district. read more

Do NOT rent a loft here. I honestly wish I could rate this establishment less than one star. When I moved in, I found out that the showers were not working. I contacted maintenance and they sent a tech to fix them. The tech took one look at the apartment, sighed, and told us that the apartment was not move-in ready as the place had not been cleaned, the dryer had not been fixed, the blinds had not been installed, and the showers had not been fixed. I have spent a WEEK trying to get someone to address the broken dryer and blinds. I was finally able to convince management to hire a cleaner after I found a SYRINGE AND NEEDLE in one of the uncleaned cupboards. Frankly, it seems this company will do whatever they can to take your rent without addressing ANY of the problems you experience. Rent at your own risk. read more

I would give this one star, but the man who runs the day-to-day activities (John B.) is a good guy. List of facts while I lived here (Early 2010 - Mid 2011): - Rental listing prices (available on Craigslist) have dropped approximately 15% over the last year (one bedrooms with a Den were around $1,250 and are now more like $1,050). - Last Halloween someone was shot and killed on this block (http://www.stltoday.com/news/local/crime-and-courts/article_8f902e62-b13b-5679-a359-5ca1f69e08f5.html). Perhaps this explains the decline in rental prices. - One night at 1 AM a person had a key that unlocked my door and let themselves in. I did not know this person. While I was promised that the security tapes would be reviewed, management never followed up with me and this issue went unsolved. Now on to my opinion: Pros: 1) Nice appliances. 2) Lots of space. 3) Excellent, safe underground garage. 4) Cool wood floors / brick walls 5) Good location for Wash Ave. bars Cons: 1) Paper thin walls - this is a HUGE issue for me. Surprising given it was built for ownership, not rentals. My neighbor had a big subwoofer, and I had a loud girlfriend. It was war. 2) Multiple issues throughout the year for a "newer" place - hot water heater went out twice, and had to be replaced twice. A/C was out a couple of times. 3) Cheap finishes in certain areas (the closet doors are just about the cheapest pieces of crap there are. 4) Bedrooms are placed next to the wall that is against the hallway. Along with 100+ year old wood floors, you can feel people walking past you if you are trying to sleep. Also, on the weekends, people letting their door slam shut will most definitely wake you up. 5) Good location for Wash. Ave. bums. Overall I would stay far away. I had recently brought my 1 star rating to a 3 star rating as my noisy neighbors had finally moved out. I'm dropping back down to a 1 star rating after about two weeks with like warm water, a few days without heat, a garage door that wasn't fixed for 5 days, and the final kicker NO HOT WATER. I love this place! My friend, boyfriend, and I have recently moved here. My friend and I fell in love with the place when we took the tour. The lofts are HUGE with nice open floor plans they have a great fitness room that I use every weekday and they have public grills so you don't have to dirty your granite counter tops. Everything has been updated and renovated but still has the old school windows and floors. I was nervous with a loft that it would be noisy but I NEVER hear my neighbors, I do occasionally hear a drunk person out on the streets but we are right down town. We were first impressed by the office manager Teresa, she is friendly and welcoming. Both my friend and I noticed on our first trip to St. Louis that friendliness is not always prevalent here. But Teresa is wonderful! She showed us around to 5 units and told us about parking and pets and get-together for the tenants and condo owners and is always more than willing to answer our questions and help with our relocation. She also is a wealth of knowledge on where to go and where not to go and told us about the store where we bought our furniture. In addition to the awesome leasing manager the neighbors are awesome! We all moved into a different state and knew no one. Our first night here we were up grilling and we met so many people, and most of them will talk to you in the elevator and what not. The quality of people here is wonderful I've yet to have a problem with anyone. Overall I and so pleased with Ely Walker Lofts and having wonderful neighbors are the icing on the top! read more

Don't rent here; Don't buy a condo here. I feel so strongly you should run away from this that I'm posting this review more than 6 months after I've moved out. I moved into Ely Walker in November of 2018, and knew nothing about the St. Louis rental market at that time. Unfortunately, I had no idea how bad Asprient/STLCityWide/Centralpmstl was as a property management company. The first thing that stands out, knowing what I know now is that they go under several different names - I'm sure as part of a re-branding strategy after bad press and litigation.  Really - don't do it. I thought hard about departing early and finding someone to take over the lease/sublet. But honestly, I just couldn't bring myself to do that to another person.  They lied about everything. I was told I was going to have underground parking, but upon move-in, I was given a card to the parking structure out back, feet from where someone was shot dead just days after I moved in. Other lies I was told included:That the apartment would be cleaned upon my arrival. Couldn't have been farther from the case. That the apartment would be freshly painted when I moved in. This was also not anywhere near the case. More information below.That packages are distributed through the Luxe machine they have near the mailroom. Near the end of my time in the building, they started using it more, but packages were just scattered in front of the mailboxes for the majority of my time there. That the frosted windows in my bedroom that were 10ft+ high and overlooked both my bedroom and the elevator lobby would be covered - no. Other issues in my apartment/building throughout my year included:Property Management staff consistently didn't answer emails. It's pretty clear they really just don't care about problem solving and making things right for tenants.Washer and dryer were both disgusting/broken upon moving in, so I wasn't able to do laundry right away as I needed.I wasn't provided the proper fob right away, so I couldn't use the back door to enter the building after parking in the structure out back. Took nearly a month to get this.The paint job was atrocious. We're talking clear gaps in painting, not painting around outlets/light switch plates, etc. I asked for it to be addressed, and after several weeks, they had folks come in to address the painting. Somehow, the painters managed to make things worse, so I just dropped it, because....how hard is painting?Air conditioning - I didn't have it for most of last summer. Thankfully, with it being a loft, it wasn't as horrible it could have been, but it was still not comfortable. When maintenance came, I explained the issue, and they told me I wasn't working the wall panel correctly. I insisted I new what I was doing. After they had to come out a few hours later again on a holiday, they finally got the picture. Too bad they could never fully fix it, as it was on and off again all summer long. Other pet owners in the building are a mixed-bag. Some are good, some will let their dog urinate or defecate a foot outside of the front or back door. Seriously, there was consistent dog poop all over the sidewalks of the building. Not the PM's fault on this one, but another issue to consider. Getting cable/internet set up was awful. The PM said that they weren't allowed to prop the cable rooms on each floor open per the condo association, and Spectrum doesn't make appointments...thankfully, I had an incredibly helpful Spectrum tech, and I basically got lucky with one of the incompetent PM employees being in the building and opening the closet at that time. Had the stars not aligned, not sure what I would have done. Bathroom ceiling tiles were gross - there was a leak in the unit above mine, that ruined some of the tiles in the process. They replaced them with...tiles even more disgusting. My own toilet leaked from the wall constantly. Work order after work order, it was never fixed properly. There wasn't a bedroom door when I moved in. That was thankfully replaced in the matter of a few days.Because I was so incredibly ready to get out, I was incredibly on top of notifying them when I would be moving out. I scheduled the move-out date and the final walk-through, and surprise, surprise, they messed both of these up. Turns out, they did their own walk-through inspection about an hour after my movers came, when the place was about 90% cleaned and ready to go, but I still needed to do one last walk-through. The day of my scheduled walk-through, I waited for nearly an hour for them. When I called and emailed, they told me I scheduled it for the day of the move out. Wrong. Eventually, they acknowledged their mistake, but it was just the perfect final moment of incompetence on their part.There were more, but these were the most significant things that still stick with me!Many of these things would be minor and unremarkable. I loved living at Ely Walker. The unit I rented was beautiful. All stainless appliances, granite kitchen and baths, finished closets and tons of built ins. I agree that sometimes tenants can get a little noisy on the weekends but i sleep with a air cleaner on and it never really bothered me. The deck is absolutley awesome! We used to grill and have drinks on the roof all of the time. Great fitness area and party room. If there is one down side of living at Ely or D-town St Louis it would be that it is not very family friendly and dog owners don't clean up after their pets. read more

The Ely Lofts have changed. Crime is now running rampant in this immediate area. One of two interior fountains have never worked while I have lived, yet it has been promised. The combined inept home ownership West End Management and for renters the very money driven with no tenant service Mill Properties combined are inefficient. Garbage on week-ends escalates to unsanitary levels. My lease is up soon, can't wait! This place is over hyped, over priced and under managed. The homeless in our doorways is always a good morning treat! Run now! This is a nightmare! The lofts are sincerely beautiful visually, but one you live here, you will see that everything for the most part has been done on the cheap. The distressed and damaged looking floors need to be cleaned daily. Dishwashers are unsafe! Just an awful experience! There are much safer lofts in many areas of STL! read more

I love my loft. The space is amazing. What I don't like are the paper,paper,paper thin walls. I can hear my neighbor laughing. My bedroom must be located near her living room. When she cook I can hear the pots clanging and the cabinets being slammed shut. I can sometime smell the food she is cooking. I have talked with management and they have spoken with her. All she can say is the neighbor before me never said anything. She says she will be more careful, however, it has gotten worse. I'm up early because her and her son make a lot of noise in the kitchen and living room. Oh....... I forgot to mention. I can hear her cell phone when it gets an alert and I hear all her personal conversations. If your a noisy person and don't sleep in late occasionally and /or don't mind getting up when your neighbor get up because you can't sleep well.........this is the place for you. I was told by management also that I would not hear my neighbors. I'm writing this because I've been listing to my neighbors all morning and this is the holiday weekend and I would like to sleep in and cannot. Don't believe that you can't hear...... You can!!!!! I have found the people to be friendly! For the money you spend to live here you should not hear a sound. read more

I recently graduated from college and came to St. Louis from NC. The management was very welcoming and did their best to make me feel at home in St. Louis. There is a condo owner/board member in the building who has been very helpful in answering my questions and concerns after hours. My loft is so spacious and I like the industrial style exposed brick and high ceilings. I don't feel trapped like most apartments because there is so much space and I have a balcony. The building is very pet friendly. They don't charge a monthly fee which I truly appreciate that! read more

If I could give this place a negative rating I would. I have lived here a year and cannot wait to get out in 2 weeks (oh, hey, by the way it will be 2 weeks without hot water since all the boilers but 1 are out and they cannot fix it until mid month). Here's what you will get here in Ely Walker: Prices that are way over worth Dog piss in the elevator that no one cleans up Trash chutes that rarely work and then people who leave the bags in front of the chute rather than taking them down stairs Dog crap outside by the garage (it is a literal mine field since no one seems to think it's a good idea to pick up after their animals) The fountain system downstairs has never worked despite the ridiculous price we all pay here. The garage door fell apart one day and it took hours to fix so no one could go to work and now this with the hot water heater not functioning for weeks. The gunshots are almost every weekend...so don't stand near the windows if you do move here! The walls are paper thin. At times it feels like my neighbor lives in my room. I can hear every conversation (and they are not quiet people). When my Air Conditioner seemed to have a mind of its own I was told the difference between what I programmed and what the actual temp was, was "normal variation". I am pretty sure 5 degrees is not normal variation. Maybe they would like to reimburse me for the variation on my power bill! I have actually never written a negative review on ANY place I have ever lived but you should be warned. I wouldn't move here again if they paid me to live here. You can do better. read more

At first glance it seems like a great place. Thin walls. Owners, Renters and Owners who rent their units out make it difficult to resolve neighbor issues. The property has 2 managing agents. The rental managing office is onsite but the owners' is not. The building common areas are not kept clean which becomes a bigger problem when pet owners let their pets defecate and urinate on the floors and in the elevators. If you have low expectations and so not spending too much money for the services provided, then this is the place for you. read more

I've lived in the Ely Walker lofts for about 6 months now. The property managers are friendly and personable, the other residents are professional, and the building is beautiful. Unlike the review above's assumptions, the windows are not drafty, and my electric bill has been very reasonable both in winter and in summer. I rent my loft -- complete with soaking tub and stainless steel appliances-- for a reasonable rate. I love the view of the arch from the deck on the roof, the view of union station from my apartment windows, and the easy commute to work. One complaint: on the weekend people inevitably come home after a night of drinking and their voices echo in the interior atrium area between the apartments. Its not too bad, though, and I wouldn't give up the atrium and glass ceiling sky lights even though that would fix the problem. read more

Ely Walker is community living at its worst. Every single day I am subjected to the noise (music, TV) from my neighbors on both sides of my unit--the walls are PAPER thin. No "quiet hours" are enforced either. The music thumps well into the late night and early morning hours. I can also smell their cigarette smoke and whatever they are cooking that day. I am counting the days until my lease is up! read more

This is an over-priced and under managed so-so loft complex. The walls are paper-thin, the floors are so distressed to the point of no shoes/no socks gets you lots of splinters! My dishwasher works every-other use. The week-day 9am-5pm manager is gone more than she is here! This was my second rental after college, and made me think " I better buy my own place" or be screwed by my next rental complex. I know the murder on this block in November 2010 really left so many with a bad taste in their mouth. These lofts are more "hood" than convenient city living! Please stay away! read more

Overrated, Overpriced, Under-managed.....poor maintenance! I have been stuck here for nine months! I did what most would never be so stupid to do, I rented unseen! I had so little time between transferring my job that I had to do everything by phone ane e-mail! The nightmare was on immediately. As I walked in I saw these hideous scarred floors, mine I am told are as bad as they get! I was told I could get out of my lease, I had thirty days to move! Sounds fair? Well, the cable/internet/phone person was already working, the movers were bringing things up, so some choice! I should have move the ensuing months have been two body bags removed, a few shootings on Washington, one two weeks ago at SIBA. The homeless situation has progressively gotten worse and well life at this so call trendy loft, is filled with weekend trash issues, broken fountain for my entire stay! The rents are $ 100.00 over much better lofts in the area! The immediate area here at 15/16th and Washington has been notorious for an up rise in crime! My suggestion, is never do sight unseen, if you like downtown, go closer to Broadway. There is no convenience here! Just rampant homeless bothering you at every turn, and inept management company who will learn as chronic turnover will hurt them, all though that would be another reason to raise rents for this "trendy off the edge , near nothing....over-priced dwelling!
