We had many good years in the previous place but in this setting, with this layout, and much more seating, and the privacy that the location and size of the property offers, - the whole process of conducting a funeral and eulogizing community members who pass away has obtained a new level of civility. This is an exemplary initiative of how our community, its needs, its lifestyle, can be addressed and improved in an effort to manage our growth and future. Textbook planning and execution, not overdone in any way, yet perfectly aligned with the quality standards and expectations of our people. Very few events are as emotional as a funeral, and the physical location, its appearance, how it serves its purpose, the feeling and memory that is created and that premises contributes to, are very high-priority concerns. The day will come when we have a generation of people who will know this place and not really have the prior places to compare it to, and I am confident that even then, this will have passed the test of time. The parties responsible for funding and building this new funeral home are to be recognized and thanked for their foresight, vision and service.

It is secluded and in what I like to call the country. It's an extension of St. Catharine's cemetery which is full. Generally well kept. The exception is the flat markers like the one at the foot of my Dad's grave. It gets dirt and overgrown grass. That needs to be kept up. I hope I don't go there soon.
