The waiter is genuinely the most sweetest and outgoing person I have ever been served by!! He's so friendly and talkative. This place serves the best pico de gallo and it's complimentary. I actually dream about one day being able to eat it again. I don't have a picture of it but the nachos are great too. The tortilla they used for the chimichanga was life-changing; they fried it so perfectly. The sides were kinda eh, but they also served us complimentary ice cream at the end :))

I love coming to Elvino every time I come to Amsterdam. The waiter exudes joy. You cannot help but smile while there. The veggie quesadillas were so good. My friend has veggie tacos and she said they were delicious. Everything is fresh there. I will continue to come back every time I come to Amsterdam!!

I wanted to like this place since at least the waiter was not rude like the other Mexican place we tried to eat at that night. But honestly, the food left a lot to be desired. We ordered - the nachos with the beans on the side. The beans never arrived and the sour cream tasted off. - the chimichanga that's supposed to be fried but was not. came with a side of rice and beans and some salsa that tasted like it came from a can. - a burrito that was the same price as the chimichanga but half the size? The place is cute, but thats about it. They take credit cards.

Love this restaurant. Great food and hospitality. Chef Adriano understands the diet requirements well. Nice to go in summer as there are outdoor sittings. Also, the desert is just wow

Worst Mexican food I've ever had! They threw some Amsterdam cheese on top of my terrible Chimichanga.

I also tried the mezcal pairing. It was a great experience in total. This was also how I learned that I don't care for mezcal. Now I know to avoid it in other situations. The staff was very patient and helpful with explaining how a meal works here. They will take the time to talk about what you like to make sure you select the right thing and answer any questions. The cocktail was also really good. I made a reservation, which seemed like the thing to do because it was lively inside. I mentioned this place to friends and they had already heard about it so it seems to be pretty popular and for good reason.

For dessert I had the chocotorta (it's an Argentinian chocolate cake with a chocolate cookie base, cream cheese, and dulce de leche) Needless to say that I enjoyed my dining experience at Sal! Everything was delicious and the team made me feel special on my birthday.

I watched the guy pull the Jack bottle from the shelf and pour the drink. One jigger. 3/4 full. If you're gonna use a jigger and charge me full price, pour to the top. But I digress. That wasn't the issue. I am a whiskey/bourbon drinker. I know my whiskeys, bourbons and the family. This was ABSOULTELY scotch. In Amsterdam, the Jack, the Jim Beam, Makers, and Bullet are far more expensive because they are imported. This was definitely scotch in a Jack bottle. No Doubt. none. Zero. My wife's drink was also a less than full jigger. So we paid full price for two terrible drinks and a Tiramasu that was once frozen but had been defrosted. Snarky service, bad drinks, supermarket dessert. I'm not a complainer, and I didn't complain. Perhaps I should have. But overall, if you check out my Yelp profile, I love to praise service, food and ambiance, but this place sucked away my will to live. Avoid it.

Seriously, does nobody just decide they are going somewhere? With live music being played with a guitar and some drums...it really helped set the scene. A special was 50 Euro for 2 people and you get two appetizers (Carpaccio or Shrimp), two entrees (Steak or Fish) and an entire bottle of wine (you pick red or white). The apps were very good (we had one of each), the steak was good, and the wine was also good. The value was great and really couldn't be beat. The service was very nice as well. We sat close to the kitchen and watched everything just go smoothly. The chef seemed to like what he was doing and the servers seemed happy as well. That may seem like a little thing, but it really adds to the experience. I can't say we will seek out this restaurant again, but if you are in the area and need a spot to eat, this is pretty decent!
