A bit off the beaten track of Newmarket, but Elske suits the area back here. With the industrial styled interiors, funky lighting, black metal stools and concrete floors Elske is a pretty cool place. Not just a cafe, this is where the magic happens. Elske provide baked delights to some of the best cafes and restaurants around Auckland and you can watch the bakers do their Danish baking thing through the glass walls as you sit and enjoy your coffee and pastries.
The service is good and this is the sort of place you can really take your time and sit for a while, read the paper, chat to whom ever you bought with you and absorb the smell of freshly baked bread. There was this one time they had gingerbread men hanging from the lights which was quite funny. Elske also sell a small selection of preserves, chutneys and teas, so bread and pastry accessories I guess you could say. read more
