I cupped my hands together to illustrate what a reasonable portion would be for me; I also do not like wasting food and wasn't able to take leftovers at the moment. The server communicated my order to the chef, and it was executed to the best of their ability. It came out just right. That meant a lot. They were extremely watery inside, and every bite caused the breading to separate and fall off. I've had fried mushrooms before and understand they can have some moisture, but these were excessively watery. For my meal, I ordered the chicken fried steak with fries. It arrived without gravy, so I had to request it separately. They brought out a very generous portion, and the gravy itself was decent. Unfortunately, the chicken fried steak had similar issues to the mushrooms--the breading wouldn't stay attached to the meat, and the steak was very chewy. Overall, I'd rate the food around a 2/5. It wasn't inedible, but it wasn't enjoyable enough to make me want to come back. The restaurant itself is clean, attractive, and has a nice atmosphere, which was probably the highlight of the visit. On the drive home, I started feeling pretty nauseated. I'm not saying I got food poisoning, but the meal definitely didn't leave me feeling great. Everyone enjoyed their food and beverages even the ones who were nervous to go due to hearing poor options about this restaurant. They offered to store the birthday cake in the fridge while we ate, which I think is very generous and mindful. We were all busy talking when we went to leave and forgot my grandmother but the host was very kind and actually helped my grandmother walk outside to us. Lol
