This was done a week prior to the appointment. 2 days prior to the appointment, the salon called to say the stylist will be out for the week, and no one else can do that hairstyle. So they were canceling the appointment, leaving my niece in a bind to call other salons during a weekend. Really, a staff that will be out for a week did not give advanced notice? Like they just decide to take off? Or perhaps she only has that one client for the day and decided that it's not worth it to come in? Who knows? But despite the talent we will not be calling again.

Nelly supported that if I didn't want to bleach it then don't bleach me. She pulled out some inspirational photos for me and suggested that I do a full balayage. We agreed on the color (caramel). So the day of my appointment comes, and the whole process took approximately 2.5 hours and I love how it came out. My hair does not feel dry and still looks/feels fairly healthy. Nelly only takes one customer at a time, so I had the whole salon to myself. She's very warm and very easy to talk to. We shared many funny stories on a nice Saturday afternoon. Will definitely recommend Nelly if you're considering a balayage.

When I asked politely if they could honor the apprentice rate or offer a discount since the cancellation wasn't on my end, they declined "because we called you yesterday and she had a dental emergency". It was disappointing to be met with a lack of empathy, especially since this left me scrambling at short notice. This would have been my first visit to this business, and while I understand things happen, I wish the situation had been handled with a bit more flexibility and care.
