Momo Shack Himalayan Dumplings - Our motto: "It's what's inside that counts" You have to taste it to believe it!

Their name is so fun to say and their product is just as delicious, if not more…read more Growing up Chinese, I've had my fair share of dumplings of all kinds. I'm so glad to taste another part of Asia's take on the dumpling, and Momo shack has conveniently brought that straight to the heart of Dallas. Think your typical protein-filled dumpling/potsticker but with a different kind of flair. You can tell that each dumpling is hand-pinched with love and care and the sauces pair incredibly with them. You can see the amount of time and precision it takes to make each bite Instagram-worthy. You can get them steamed or fried (crunchy on the bottom...duh you should ask for this style of Momo!) The owners are passionate about their food and it's evident when you visit their humble stand. My favorite flavors in order: Pork then Veggie then Chicken; but all are delicious with THAT SAUCE. Pork is juicier, similar to a xiao long bao soup dumpling (but without the soup). The veggie's got alot of different ingredients in it that blend great together, so if you're usually opposed to vegetable-only things like me, this one's worth giving a shot! The chicken has flavor too, but I prefer the bite-feel of the pork more than the chicken. That orange tomato sauce goes great with everythingggg. Make sure to check them out at the dallas farmer's market on the weekends (check their instagram/the dallas farmer's market website schedule) and go early! Obviously these sell out quick! I literally bought 30 of them for myself, you guys, I'm not kidding. And how cool is it to be able to tell your friends that you've had a Himalayan dumpling (or 30)?

The gumbo is dark and so flavorful and is chock full of content, not just watery with a few pieces of meat like some restaurants in Dallas. The crawfish pies were a totally unique and delicious experience! Very friendly staff and the food stays hot with warmers. Highly recommend stopping in at the breweries they've been popping up at!

Amazing food from a great guy…read more Speaking as a native of southern (aka "the real") Louisiana, let me tell you: Chef Keith has got the goods, people. I tried a few of his dishes at the Dallas Farmer's market this past weekend and couldn't be happier with all of them. Excellent chicken and sausage gumbo was perfect on a cold and rainy morning. I was pleasantly surprised to find just the right amount of spice, the heat being there but not overwhelming, which is rare in Dallas. The broth was perfect and the attention to detail that went into what must be an excellent roux is apparent. The red beans and rice was good enough that I came back for seconds to share with some friends I was seeing later. Saving the best for last, the sauce piquante was the gold medal winner of the things I tried. It was, hands down, the best I've tried and I've eaten that dish all along the coast.. New Orleans, Lafayette, and Baton Rouge. There's a lot of variation in what type of cajun food different people like and a lot of it is influenced by what you grew up with, however; anyone who is a fan of cajun food will find something to like in the plates coming out of Chef Keith's kitchen. In the words of Justin Wilson, "I guar-ron-tee!"

Our cocktails were all good - and the appetizers were very good. We had the crispy pork belly and the tostaditas with barbacoa. The crispy pork belly was especially delicious and I would order as my own dinner in the future. It comes with onions and sauces and corn tortillas and it's to die for - so crispy and flavorful. We ordered the Bistec enchiladas and they were good but not as good as the appetizers. They give you a variety of sauces when you're seated that you keep throughout the meal - from mild to spicy but I would say the "spicy" is on the mild side. Still good and flavorful but not unapproachable for most ppl. We had the Campechana dessert and it was a little strange. It was basically a vanilla Icecream cake with a crispy waffle cone like layering that was really hard to break until it sat a while. It was oddly addicting but also not that good? I can't explain it. We went to the cigar lounge area after dinner and had Mexican espresso martinis and watched football before heading home. There was little smoke smell but very minimal until it got later. Around 8:30 (on a Saturday night) ppl started smoking cigars and they opened the side windows and being 90degrees right now - it became less enjoyable so we decided to end the night. In the fall that room would probably be quite lovely with the windows open. They have comfortable seating and fire pits. Really more of a 4.5 out of 5. Loved the decor near the restrooms and patio too.
