You CAN do it yourself, but we honestly did not have the time to figure it all out and didn't want our wedding to be ruined by not hiring the right vendors, location, etc. Included was booking the location outside, the back-up indoor location, getting our marriage license (which they went with us to do!), photographer fees, flowers, hair and make up, cake, and limo transportation. While they do not book the reception, they gave us a great recommendation that was fantastic. Everything turned out awesome. I did not have ANY worries on my wedding day and it was so nice to be able to just take it all in and enjoy those precious moments. THAT is definitely worth it. All of the vendors were fantastic, the location was amazing, and we have pictures that are unbelievable. Thanks Rocky Mountain Weddings! Our 5 year anniversary is coming up and we still think about our beautiful wedding all the time!

Everything that I envisioned for the day was carried out perfectly, from the photo booth that was set up for us to the room where kids could hang out and watch Netflix. We opted to have the ceremony outside on their large balcony, and it was truly a beautiful setup, with flowers entwined over an archway above us and the mountains surrounding us. Cheryl was even so kind as to record the whole ceremony for us, as my husband's family was unable to attend, so we will have a very special piece of the day to share with them when we go visit. The staff took care of all the decor based on inspiration photos that I had provided and assembled floral bouquets for all the tables, which were absolutely beautiful. The food, which was provided by Cornerstone Catering, was delicious... the best creme brûlée I've ever had! And when it came time for dancing, the tables were moved away, the disco lights came on, and their very talented DJ went to work, playing songs that kept the dance floor busy all night! I received so many complements from people who attended, telling me how beautiful the venue and the ceremony/reception were. I would not change anything about the day, as it was executed perfectly. I am writing this review to provide feedback…read moreto others considering the same, and to experience some sort of catharsis after an overall awful experience on what should have been a happy day. I have never felt so belittled, disregarded, and demeaned in a professional relationship. Before I provide insight into my negative experiences, I should recognize areas where the Hive excelled. The Hive is a beautiful facility with an interesting layout that lends itself well to smaller groups hosting events. The art work is top notch, and the décor of the wedding itself was put together beautifully. Staff members worked hard to choose, create, and set up flower arrangements and accommodate color selections. Staff members accommodated our guests with specific food restrictions, and ordered/picked up 2 meals from a local restaurant. This was going above and beyond as I expected needing to ask a family member to do this. The Hive hired an exceptional bartender to work the main bar. I had nothing but positive interactions with her and received good feedback from our guests. I will also say that our guests largely had a good time, enjoyed the venue, and had fun with the adult paint room. The Hive agreed to set up a photo booth with short notice (although this only required setting up a small digital camera on a tripod, securing a black sheet over a wall, and placing props I had already purchased on tables/hooks). The Hive was also good at adding small touches, such as placing blankets on the backs of chairs of outdoor guests for comfort. I realize my review is lengthy. In this case, the length is directly proportional to the level of difficulty we had in planning the wedding with the Hive. Due to character restrictions on Yelp, I cannot post my entire review here. Major changes were proposed to our program, and contracts with the caterer as many as 5 days, and as little as 1 day before the wedding. Arrangements were not carried out as requested and agreed upon. I urge you to visit the Trip Advisor review for an abundance of concrete examples of my experiences.

I have been past this area many times, but didn't realize that a large facility was there for events such as this. It's located east of Canmore and is only about an hour drive from downtown Calgary. The buffet dinner was really quite good, compared to some wedding buffets that I've been to! Some of the highlights were the grilled cedar plank salmon and the mediterranean fatoush salad (cucumber, red onion, olives, tomatoes, chick peas and thinly sliced hearts of Romaine in an olive oil and lemon vinaigrette). Where this experience stood apart was with the excellent service that we received. Someone was always around when we needed something, and immediately went above and beyond to make us happy. I was helping decorate the cake in between the ceremony and reception. We had forgotten to take the icing out of the fridge before the ceremony, and I thought we were going to be stuck trying to ice the cake with cold, stiff icing. Instead, the chef jumped in and helped us by heating it in his large industrial sized warmer. Crisis averted!! The staff for the remainder of the evening stopped by each table frequently to see if anything was needed. They did a great job. The room rates weren't cheap but they certainly weren't too outrageous either (~$170 plus tax per night). The rooms were clean and functional, although we didn't spend much time there with all of the wedding festivities that were going on. For guests wanting to save some money (or have a more unique experience), there were also tipis available. Many guests also brought trailers and just camped for the weekend. We had a great time, and I would look forward to attending another wedding at this venue.

While parking is convenient and easy to access, the elevators from the parking area are quite slow and small. I was curious about trying out the onsite spa, but the treatment prices and lack of availability discouraged me from doing so. The unit itself was spacious, clean, and well-maintained. We were pleased with our stay. We visited the pool & hot tub once during our stay, and the pool was smaller than expected. The locker room area was slightly cramped and lacked multiple showers. Not a bad location to stay if you're visiting Banff, but this may vary a bit depending on the individual unit/Airbnb.

Each time I spoke to the staff the answer was some form of "we are a resort and don't do that." The meeting rooms are sad and tired. Lights are burned out all around the place. Sidewalks are not cleared of snow and ice so there is always a danger when walking.

We enjoyed our round immensely as it seemed like we were the only ones out on the course. At the turn, the snack shack was open even though there were only a few people on the course. I was most thankful for this as they offered some hot beverages! We got hot cocoa with Baileys which definitely helped to warm up my hands, tummy and spirits. We look forward to when we can play again under sunny skies. We also enjoyed dinner too in the clubhouse. Because they were setting up for a special event in the main dining room, Melody sat us in the Members Lounge which was very nice as it afforded views of the golf course and mountain. Melody was very welcoming and gracious. Maddy took very good care of us ... running back and forth asking our questions of the kitchen and getting us refills on our drinks. Both ladies were fantastic and made a wet, gray day brighter. We will definitely be back at some point in the future.

Upon arriving, we were fortunate enough to be welcomed by the lovely Sara Renner and her gracious husband, Thomas Grandi. Chocolates from a local business, Le Chocolatier, were an unexpected surprise waiting in our room - the salted caramel in milk chocolate was so good I was prompted to find the little shop up on Benchlands Trail to buy some more. We stayed in the Cabin Suite, which is a quiet, spacious and comfortable 2-bedroom suite on the main floor with a firm king bed and choice of synthetic or down pillows. There is also a separate bedroom with a double/single bunk, which would be perfect for kids or another family staying with you, as long as you're close because the king bed is open to the living space. There is one large bathroom and I enjoyed the separate shower's pebble floor and the soaker tub. The self-serve breakfast is plentiful with daily fresh baked bread and muffins, an egg frittata, super easy orange juicer, yogurt, in-house made granola, and fruit. Then there is the Miele coffee machine! Your choice of coffee (lungo, cappuccino, espresso, latte, etc.) at the push of a button - I made a mocha each morning with 2 spoonfuls of hot chocolate mix and a press of the double-shot macchiato button...delicious! The machine is available for use at any time. The staff are wonderful. Jonathan at the front desk is helpful with any need you may have in the kitchen or otherwise. Canmore is his hometown, so he is knowledgeable about the area, hiking trails, back country skiing, etc. Chef Shannon whipped-up the delicious breakfast each morning and is a great conversationalist with a warm personality and wonderful sense of humour. If you're an early riser like me, it's great to be able to make yourself a good cup of coffee and have a visit in the kitchen. All in all, our stay at the Paintbox Lodge was terrific. I highly recommend staying here and am looking forward to the time we return.

The resort is very mountainous looking resort on the outside, in fact very inviting. This location is on the outskirts of the busy Canmore Town. With hiking trails to town or by the river. The staff very friendly and accommodating upon checkin. There is 2 levels of underground parking for guests. Upon arriving to our suite as we entered it was like entering a apartment full kitchen with counter seating for 4 and huge table, 2 bedrooms, 2 huge bathrooms, washer and dryer, living room with fireplace, a balcony with BBQ. Looking over the courtyard and pool. Considering how full this resort was with guests, it's very quiet inside the unit. There is a cafe connected to the resort called Black Dog Cafe. Note: stay away it's very over priced below par food with very slow service. Better off going to Tim Hortons down the road for half the price and fresh hot breakfast. There is a cute Deli called Bohemian smoked meat Czech Deli across the street highly recommend! Freshly made sandwiches and soups. In the Garden centre of all places is a Tea house with gourmet Japanese breakfast or Lunch made fresh everyday called Wagashi. This resort is very well situated amongst the mountains and away from town. Will be back in the future had a fantastic stay.

A Good Price Might Not Be A Good Deal…read more.......... Our family of 5 from California...3 from Los Angeles and 2 from around San Luis Obispo...chose the Canadian Rockies to get together for a week to celebrate a couple of milestone birthdays and a 25th anniversary. We chose Canmore since it was less expensive than Banff and a VRBO in Stoneridge because it seemed a nice place at a reasonable price. We were wrong. Pros: - Stoneridge looks nice from the outside - Our 3 bedroom unit had enough space for 5 family members - We had an end unit, #303, so the views and balcony facing the mountains were very nice - Our walls were white and furnishings somewhat modern - The pool and jacuzzi were fine - Communications with Rockies Rentals, the management firm of our unit, both before and during our week were very good. They promptly responded to most requests....especially Athira - A small restaurant, the Black Dog Cafe, is next to Stoneridge. They make great drinks, serve fine pastries...and really do have a friendly big black dog. Cons: - Stoneridge might look okay from the street, but it's just a 4 story apartment building from the 1980s - We had enough space, but the atmosphere was like my first place in the 1970s with lots of cheap brown wood, hollow doors and "well used" appliances - The hallway outside our unit, #303, reminded us of the movie "The Shining" where a little boy rode his tricycle and repeated the word "redrum". They're long, dark and drab...especially during the day. - Upon arrival on a Saturday, many things were wrong: - The dishwasher was broken - The vacuum cleaner was broken - There were no tissues - The broom was very full of dust - We had 2 soggy bathrobes hanging in the main bedroom closet - Carpets were dirty and, last but not least..... - Lots of black mold in the shower of the main bathroom (the pictures don't do it justice) So what happened with each item? The management company, Rockies Rentals, said: - Dishwasher: "We'll try to get someone quickly". It was Labor Day weekend so not much happened until Tuesday when they said "sorry. Still trying". Meanwhile, we washed everything and put them on racks in the washer to dry. By Thursday, they offered to come by and wash dishes for us daily. Since Friday was our last full day, I said "no thanks". - Vacuum: They replaced it the next day - Tissues: They brought a box for each of the 2 bathrooms - Broom: We just didn't use it - Bathrobes: "They're clean. It's policy to let them hang dry". They brought 2 dry ones the next day. - Carpets: I don't know.....but we used the replacement vacuum to do it ourselves - Black mold: We never heard back.....so I sprayed the shower THOROUGHLY and DAILY with Clorox stocked in the unit (see photo) A few other notes: - The washer and dryer were small. About the size of a refrigerator in a college dorm room - Kitchen appliances worked, but showed lots of wear and tear - There's no garbage disposal in the kitchen - The only bins big enough for bags of regular garbage are dumpsters behind big doors on the 1st floor of parking - Parking is on 2 levels under the 4 floors of units. There are many spaces, but it's dark and tight. Prepare to be a nimble parker and bring a flashlight. For our 3 bedroom unit (one with bunk beds), we paid $6,632 for 7 nights or $947 per night. Take what you want from this experience. Good thing I'm not an attorney.
