It doesn't work...at all. Stays blinking constantly. Therefore the response time is long or nonexistent. The help said they have requested help three times from maintenance with no results. So my blinking room light gets ignored at the nurse call station. Shouldn't this be illegal in a rehab center? I'm not feeling like I can get help in a timely fashion to my needs.

I was at Sunny Acres for almost 3 months after leaving the hospital for rehab…read more The physical, occupational and speech therapists were good overall. My one complaint is that they didn't inform me that we could do a home evaluation soon enough to make a difference in my daily therapy. As for the CNAs, the afternoon and evening people were wonderful. On the morning shift, a few were excellent but others were rude that made some days very difficult. One male CNA would turn off the call button and on his way out say, "I'll get to you when I can." I'd turn the call button again after waiting an hour. And he would berate me with snide remarks when he did come in. I requested only female CNAs. This happened on morning shift. One of the first first female CNAs who came in to help me was angry at me for making more work for her. She said the male CNA was lazy. I felt she was quite rough with me. Then the CNAs on the morning shift only wouldn't respond to my call button for 1.5 to 2.5 hours. This would be only 2 times for those hours. When I asked for a supervisor, a nurse came in and told me that there were 3 other women requesting only female CNAs. She then started yelling that none of us were special and what was so important that I only wanted female CNAs. The discussion was out ofl control so I yelled for her to get out. I recommend that the company hire another female CNA for at least the first shift. There were only 2 CNAs for 30 patients requiring several levels of care. I would never recommend this facility to anyone.

The young ladies were resourceful and engaged him in activities that stimulated his attention and thinking. One even made up a special game for him. Home Instead is an Outstanding Personal Care Service and works diligently to match the clients needs with the services required. I highly recommend them as an alternative to Institutional Care Service. I never thought I would be in need of the services that Colorado Elder Care Solutions provides. But…read morerecently I found myself dealing with my husband's serious health and cognitive challenges. It's hard to describe the anxiety, overwhelm, sadness, and confusion that I experienced trying to do my best to care for his needs - and mine. I felt I was stretched beyond my ability to cope. I was extremely fortunate to have had Karen to guide and support me through situation after situation. She was not only extremely experienced and knowledgeable but was able to think clearly when I was not. I was so impressed with her demeanor - calm, caring and respectful. It is important to note that I never felt she was taking over. I experienced her as a partner who cared as much as I did about finding the best solutions. Her expertise was so impressive, knowing exactly what the next step should be and how I might best accomplish it. My whole experience was like a breath of much needed fresh air, giving me support, hope and the resources I needed to get through each challenge I was facing. I would not hesitate to entrust Colorado Elder Care with any one of my family members or friends. I have the utmost confidence that they would receive all that they need to facilitate the best outcome for all concerned.

My sister and I live out of state, over a thousand miles away, which made it very stressful managing his escalating needs. However, Colorado Eldercare Solutions found him a subsidized senior housing complex that was secure, located in a very walkable neighborhood of Englewood, and guided us in setting up support services for his medical and social needs. Simple things like a phone with larger buttons and easy to use message retrieval were helpful in ensuring we could communicate with our father. The medical box set up and monitoring system helped us manage his on-going and complex prescription needs. Additionally, she helped ensure he was getting proper nutrition and had a support system to check in on him to make sure he remained active and engaged in the community. I believe his quality of life was tremendously enhanced by the support and care they extended. And, I know it gave me greater piece of mind knowing that there was someone close who could make a visit to see how Dad was doing when we couldn't get in touch. I can recommend Colorado Elder Care solutions without any reservations.
