She is strict but I feel that it is actually a very refreshing and great thing to have because we knew and felt that the property was kept up well and that we would be heard and taken of very well too. The tenants are her NUMBER ONE PRIORITY! Living here has been great. We have never really had any problems with our unit and any problems we bring to Linda are usually fixed within a 24-hour period. Communication with her is fantastic, and she is always available to listen to our concerns! She is also ALWAYS so warm and fantastic with my 2 kids even when they pester me to visit her office every time we walk past it! She is always willing to put aside time for YOU. If not for the fact that our family is simply getting just too big for the units they offer here, we would probably have continued to stay on. We will truly miss the amazing tenant care and service we have received at Parkside over the last 2 years. We are really going to miss living here. I would HIGHLY recommend this apartment complex to anyone looking for 1 or 2 BR apartments. Prices are very reasonable, staff are amazing, and people are pretty friendly around here too. 5 stars for sure!

While we were filing out the condition paperwork and inspecting the property our first day with the keys, we found some issues, when we turned the paperwork in, maintenance was in the apartment the next day getting these issues fixed. Gil mad sure to follow up with us to ensure that things had been taken care of to our satisfaction. It really seems like Gil is working hard and doing a really nice job, he certainly seems to genuinely care that expectations are met and exceeded where possible. It's been a great experience thus far.

( Potentially Relevant Data: Move-in Date: 03/01/2025 Move-in Finished: 03/06/2025 Pathing: Concrete stairs with railways (no elevators) Car Lot: Excess parking + Handicap Reservations Add-Ons: Private Garage/Storage Space Local: Walking proximity to nearby restaurants, grocery stores, entertainment, emergency services, etc. Factors Relevant To Personal Experience: Floor Elevation: Three (3) Building Identifier: "West" Age: 22 Tenant Count: One (1) Tenant Additions: Not bringing any pets ) - Solid rent that does not deviate based on the date of your move (like moving-in in January vs March, some other places will charge more or less depending on the exact date you move-in, and how long you choose to make your lease; Willows of Wheaton does not do that, and appears, at least to my current knowledge, to potentially only offer 12 month leases, which is perfect for me). - Super responsive maintenance, as I unfortunately had already needed to ask for them due to a small issue with the bedroom door not closing and the HVAC system making a weird noise that were both resolved within 24 hours! - Wonderful leasing office staff; they may have more than one person working the leasing office, but I only ever interacted with Lauren, and she is so amazing, super nice, and unbelievably helpful, accommodating, and relatable in any given conversation. I cannot thank her enough for all her help answering questions and getting stuff figured out in general. - The entire complex appears to be a super laid back, quite environment that has a foot of concrete in between each floor, so if you have someone above you, you don't need to worry about any noise they might be making, as you will likely not hear it (though I confess that I am currently on level 3, so I cannot vouch for this fact with 100% certainty, but it was something I asked Lauren about because I didn't want anyone to be bothered by me just walking around in my own place, and at my previous apartment complex, I had someone above me and I could hear every foot step they made lol). - My balcony (medium sized, and is made of concrete, and is designed in such a way so that you generally have privacy from your neighbors) currently faces the woods, so it's a perfect view with a super soft and quiet scenery that will only grow more pleasant when the leaves start to grow back over the next couple months as the spring season begins (I didn't really feel comfortable using my balcony at my last apartment complex because the balcony was made of wood instead of concrete, was semi-small, and I was on the second floor facing the parking lot, so everyone could see me as I sat outside on said balcony, and I just didn't really feel at ease using it). - If your apartment is on level 3, you will have raised ceilings. Overall, I have been having a great experience, and am so thankful for Lauren and the Willows of Wheaton's maintenance team who have both been amazing at their crafts. Can't go wrong with this place.

The first time, they gave me a pass for about 10 days and didn't charge me anything so long as I had my rental agreement. Those two that helped me earlier were actually very pleasant so much so that I hooked them both up with free shoes ($300 value). Today, I went to get an extension on that parking pass and they're charging me $5 per day even after explaining the circumstances of my last visit with them. $5 per day for about 10 days?! I'm a good tenant, pay my rent on time and never make a noise and they're going to charge me for parking passes when I already overpay for a "renovated apartment"?! In their defense, the lady that helped me noted it on the worksheet and I had to sign several different passes because each tag was $5 and for 24 hours only?! She didn't even want to hear my situation and just kept talking over me telling me about 'NEW PARKING RULES"... I KNOW THE NEW PARKING RULES!!! I travel a lot and am home every so often and whenever I return, there's always something with the air condition, the RIDICULOUS smoke and stench from my neighbor(s) blazing up, or my front door not feeling secure when I lock it that I complained about when I first moved in and you know what? It's still not fixed and I thought this apartment was supposed to be non-smoking?! Packages are supposed to be left in a secure room, but UPS, FedEX and USPS don't care. If you're not home, good luck. They'll leave it in the vestibule area where anybody can take it. In fact, I already lost two very important shipments that I was waiting for. What's even better about that is that the companies I ordered from won't relpace the packages because it's not their fault and blame it all on the carrier and good luck with complaining about lost packages to any one of them. I had to pay out of pocket again, and now I just have my packages shipped to a friend's house so that I can pick it up later. The place not what it seems to be. "You can put make-up on a pig but it's still a pig." I had to get this apartment out of desperation and time. It looked so nice on the brochure, but as soon as my lease ends, you won't be able to move me out fast enough. I sadly signed a 14 month lease. What the hell was I thinking?! I'm glad that I travel a lot, but it also sucks that I pay what I pay for rent for mediocre, at best, management. I'm also writing this after a 1400 mile, 10 day trip with working with 3 accounts per day. I just want to go home and feel appreciated and this place didn't make me feel that way... c'est la vie. My unit is so old and raggedy, plus I found bugs the 1st day we moved in. I never received my "free gift". You don't get to see your actual unit before you move in. I have a child & this place is disgusting and a roach motel. Literally big roaches everywhere. It's embarrassing and I'll never have guests over. Outsiders use the parking lot to tailgate the soccer games that are held on nearby adjacent soccer field on the weekends. The common areas are not well kept. The halls are dark and grimy. It's not worth the price. I'm going to try to stay until end of lease, but honestly we're not used to such conditions and I may break the lease. The staff are very nice but they are selling trash disguised as luxury. Worst living decision of my life; I cannot wait to move already. Once you're a tenant - If you ask to see the property manager - "she's sick or in meetings all day". Not even worth the 1 star.
