Everyone I ever spoke to in the office was BEYOND rude, unhelpful, and acted like my presence was a nuisance. Here is the worst part: they are withholding $300 from my security deposit for paint. Only after that did they agree to replace the dishwasher -- but even then, I was told a day, not a specific time, making it impossible to properly arrange time off to be present. On top of that, my door lock was damaged from the beginning. It's completely broken now and I can't even turn the lock -- a major safety concern. I've reported this issue multiple times and it's been over a month with no resolution. This level of neglect is unacceptable. As a tenant, I expect safe living conditions and timely repairs. I used Randall Wilder, a realtor with Sowell, as both my buyer's and seller's agent for my home in…read moreMemphis, Tennessee. As a buyer's agent, he was patient and competent with a first-time buyer. He carefully explained each step of the process, made recommendations, and pointed out things with each property that I should be aware of, or might need to address before there was even an inspection. We both knew when I had found the home for me, and he walked me through the process of purchasing it with very little stress. However, it was as a seller's agent that he really went above and beyond. I sold the house in 2010 when the market collapse was in full swing. Obviously Randall had no control over that, but he went above and beyond to help a first-time seller with limited means figure out how to cope. He helped me rearrange furniture to make the house look its most attractive. He helped me arrange repairs for the items that came up in the inspection, and even taught me how to make some of them myself, carefully pointing out the correct way to do them that would last. He did not want the buyers after me to have any problems either; when I was going to stabilize a shower head in one way I had seen online, he told me it would not be effective or last for the new buyer, and showed me the proper way to do it. At the time, I had no basis for comparison.
