DO NOT GO TO DR. GREGORY ELLIS. On January 22, 2026, Dr. Ellis performed a root canal on me. During that procedure, my anesthesia wore off. He ignored my cries. He ignored my pleading for him to stop. Without my consent, he continued the procedure and then attempted to gaslight me afterwards. Upon arrival, his assistant Tabitha prepped me for the procedure and laid me down in the chair. Dr. Ellis came in, did not acknowledge me, did not say hello, and did not say he was beginning work. He proceeded to open my mouth and start injecting the local anesthetic. I jumped at the first injection as I could not see what he was doing. He still said nothing. The second shot was on the palette side of my mouth. It hurt so much that I jumped and kicked my legs up. The first words out of his mouth were, "that shouldn't hurt." I should have left right then and there. He then started talking as if I was not there saying there was a lot of blood. He gave me another shot. At this point I started crying in pain. I looked up and he was gone. He said nothing to me. As I cried, I told Tabitha that, at the very least, he should have told me that he was about to start injecting the anesthetic. She had no response. The procedure began with no communication to me. Dr. Ellis and Tabitha discussed 80s music playing on the radio as I laid back getting my root canal. Halfway through the procedure, he left the room and instructed her to give the disinfectant every 30 seconds for the next 10 minutes. Approximately half way though the disinfecting, I started to feel pain. Tabitha saw me react to her touching my teeth and asked if I was in pain. I said YES! I had pillow in my mouth, a rubber dam and some mechanism holding the tooth. I could feel everything! She asked again, "Are you sure you're hurting?" I nodded and said "YES! I am in pain!" as best I could with all of the equipment in my mouth. She replied and said, "Let me go tell him." I heard her tell Doctor Ellis TWICE that I was in pain. He came back in and, without discussion, continued the procedure. I screamed for him to stop! I cried for him to stop! My arms and legs were thrashing. He finally said, "You don't feel that." I cried that I can feel it! He continued, "You shouldn't be feeling that. You didn't react when I was working earlier." He finally finished the procedure. I had been crying and yelling so hysterically that I had snot and saliva dripping down my face and mouth. He instructed Tabitha, "get her something to wipe her face". She gave me a tissue. Someone came in and gave me a warm towel to wipe off my face. Tabatha said I needed to do X-rays post surgery. I excused myself to the restroom first. When I returned, I exclaimed to Tabitha that I could feel everything! She stood there uncomfortably. She took the X-rays without discuss of the trauma I just endured. He came back in the room and continued to gaslight me. "You shouldn't have felt anything." "BUT I DID! SHE TOLD YOU I FELT PAIN! Tabitha told you I was in pain!" I, of course, felt the need to explain myself even further. I have a high pain tolerance. I was crying for you to stop. His reply, "that was very unusual." His bizarre, numb reaction was absolutely stunning. He sat there looking at me as if I was completely insane. I could see that the conversation was going nowhere. I asked if there was a prescription. He asked if Tabitha gave me Aleve before we began. Yes, she did. He said that is enough and to take some more later if I need. Then he walked out. Before leaving, I asked Tabitha and the woman at the front desk if there would be any prescribed pain medication. They said no. Tabitha said, if I needed, she could call in prednisone. And that was that. I walked out. No care. No apology. No pain medication. This office is small. 3 dental chairs and a front lobby. All open. Every person in that office hear my cries. They ALL ignored me. I sat in my car for a long while afterward sobbing. I was in pain. I felt violated. How could this happen??!! The only thing I could think to do was to call the dentist who referred me. I gave her a full account and she was in disbelief. She was very supportive. A few hours later, Tabitha texted me and apologized that I was in pain and was sending in the prednisone prescription. The next day, I received a call from an unknown number. I picked up the phone and it was Dr. Ellis. He said he was "checking in" but it quickly turned to more gaslighting. I told him I wasn't doing well because of what happened. He continued with the "it was unusual" and "shouldn't have happened." He even said that it was a bad experience for him too! He denied that I was in pain. He denied that I asked him to stop. I did my best to stay calm. "I told you I was in pain. Tabitha told you I was in pain, TWICE. Everyone in your office heard me crying for you to stop, yet you continued without my consent." Silence. I am very pleased with the care I received at Ellis Endodontics. I was referred to them by my primary dentist for a root canal, and they scheduled me right away. They told me up front what the cost would be. Dr Ellis explained the procedure and made me feel at ease. The initial procedure and the follow up went smoothly, and the office contacted me after each procedure to make sure I was not having any issues. Do not go to this endodontist! They request that you pay upfront prior to your procedure, then they will bill your insurance, and give you the money back once your insurance pays them. Sounds a little fishy to me. Not to mention, the staff aren't the friendliest bunch. read more

The care I received at Ellis Endodontics was phenominal. I had a dental emergency on a weekend Dr.Ellis and Dr.Chantal came to my rescue. The communication was excellent and the staff was extremely compassionate about the pain I was experiencing. Not enough positive things to say about the amount of care and professionalism that I experienced. Dr Ellis is old school and has the bedside manner of a condescending jerk. He talks to his patients like they have no clue or experience with dental work. He rips people off that pay for the gas to save himself money and don't make the mistake of crying during a procedure. Hell basically tell you to suck it up and blow your nose so you can breathe. Dr. Ellis and his staff were great! He performed a painless root canal! He was quick, but thorough, and he really put me at ease by explaining everything and answering all of my questions. My root canal was painless! I live in The Woodlands, but it was well worth the very short drive to Conroe to have Dr. Ellis perform my root canal. I highly recommend Dr. Ellis. read more

This doctor's bedside manner is one of the worst I have ever had the displeasure of experiencing. If you have anxiety about dental work, like most of us, DO NOT see this doctor. He laughed at me when I asked curios questions. I paid for gas and he refused to turn it up where I was relaxed. He then gave me 4 shots, without telling me first, before he started the gas. Then he told me "I don't know if you have ever had gas and just think it is supposed to make you feel funny or different but it's not. You may need to reschedule for more sedation" I am always fine with the gas. It's never been a problem to have work done with gas so this is ridiculous. Then he took the gas off before he was even finished with the work. No oxygen before or after either. He told me He didn't understand why I would be so sore after a crown, that he just does not understand how that could be. During the treatment I had a moment and I started to cry. This man never acknowledged me, never stopped and said Are you ok or even offer a tissue. He's old school and very demeaning to his patients. I was so angry when I left and so I hope many people see this review and choose another place to take good care of you. This doctor is not your guy. read more
