But let me tell you this... it's definitely worth the drive!!!! If you know me and my husband are OBSESSED with the Munsters. They only show the house by Appointments only! We're so grateful my in-laws took care of that for us. The owner gave us the tour of this beautiful house and I must say that my favorite room in the entire house has got to be the memorabilia room. I'm so jealous of the entire Munster Collection!! It's pretty fascinating that Grandpa (Herman's Father in law) visited this Munster Mansion before he passed, and also one of the actresses that played Marilyn, also visited too! We had such an awesome experience.. we can't wait to go back next time !!! Thank you to the owner for the great service and hospitality. I was not able to get a decent angle to see the astronomical observatory because of traffic lights and trees. I'm sure the interior is pretty cool but it was closed on this late afternoon. The marker is at the intersection of College Street and Marvin Avenue. There is no nearby legal parking. The marker reads, "The Northwest Texas Conference, Methodist Episcopal Church South, built a college named for Bishop E.M. Marvin at the site in 1870-71. Waxahachie Methodists and others gave land, services, and money to develop the college. Distinctions were attained in music and chemistry teaching. The astronomical observatory was an outstanding feature. The enrollment reached about 250. Financially troubled, the college stressed practical studies in the 1880s, but closed in 1884. The City of Waxahachie then bought the property and used it to house its original public school." [Review 16072 overall - 253 in Texas - 1577 of 2021.]

Richardson (1839-1922), county surveyor, Mason, and veteran of the 12th Texas Confederate Cavalry, married Ann Elizabeth Reagor (1849-1923) in 1865. Both were descendants of the family for which Reagor Springs was named. A cousin, Robert S. Reagor, was buried on the Richardsons' property in 1879. In 1890 the land was deeded for use as a cemetery. Also buried here are two of the Richardsons' six children. The Richardsons left Reagor Springs near the turn of the century. Other early area families also are buried in the cemetery, which contains thirty graves. Those interred in the Richardson Cemetery helped to forge Reagor Springs and early Ellis County." Screams is the halloween event the ren-fair puts on during spooky season…read more While the haunts themselves are not the best we've been too we appreciate screams for being a place you can genuinely spend an entire evening. Once you are inside, you can visit the 5 haunts inside as often as you want or are able to for the evening. They make use of the fairs food stops & shops to give folks a place to shop, grab a bite or enjoy some drinks while there. I do recommend getting there close to opening and spending as much time as you can there to get the most bang for your buck. As well, try to go earlier in the Halloween season as lines get longer & crowds larger as it gets closer to actual Halloween. If you absolutely have to go closer to Halloween or Halloween weekend then you might want to spring for VIP, though going opening weekend it's a waste to get vip cause the lines are short. Also stop to watch the hell dolls show! I think it was around 8pm & 10pm the night we went; but check when you are there to be sure.

Enjoyed it a lot! * Wasteland, Zombie Apocalypse - Scary * Bootleggers Bayou - wasn't scary and needed more. We also bought the fast pass with our tickets and it was worth it. We didn't have to wait more than 10 min in a line. We were able to experience so much in a 2.5 hour time. By time we left the place was getting busier by the minute and it was 9:30pm.

If you know Scarborough Renaissance Festival from the spring, this is a completely different experience. The grounds are transformed for fall with costumed characters, live entertainment, food, vendors, fantasy elements, and plenty of spooky surprises. Do NOT skip the Mythical Museum! We absolutely loved it. There are so many exhibits about mystical creatures to look at and read about, and our kids had a blast exploring everything. Blackthorn Haunted Castle was another highlight. It has live actors throughout, so this is a true haunted-house experience rather than just a decorated walkthrough. So much fun and very well done! There's a lot more to experience than we expected, so definitely allow yourself several hours. Scarborough's Hollow runs Saturdays through October 31, 2026, and I highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for something different to do this fall around DFW.

Walking up to the entrance just as the sun had dropped, and being met with fire bursts from the castle walls. Scare actors roaming amongst the waiting patrons. Catching the freakshows and bands between haunts. Hanging around until after midnight as the park died down and people vacated. That was the best time of the night! Just walking amongst the trees and reveling in the Halloween atmosphere. Taking it all in. Those were collective memories for thousands. THEN, you big Ren Fair nerds come in with yet another "Pumpkin Patch", family friendly, smelly nerd hippie-fest that shuts down@9pm and absolutely destroys it all. I wish your venture and your personal lives the worst for ruining this.

The top Google searches, this Yelp ad, TripAdvisor--none of them showed this as a moving temporary display. If you really want to see (and pick) tulips, next year go to Texas Tulips north of Dallas. At least their website makes the address and their open/close dates very clear.
