Which is so silly because making the appointment is so easy through their website. I've now had 5 total piercings at DV8 over the course of the last year and a half on my ear curation journey. All are healing well and I'm very happy with the placements.  Keep in mind the jewelry is not included in the piercing fee, and it can add up quick if you're a gold lover. But if you're getting subsequent piercings, they allow you to bring in any previous jewelry that you've already purchased from them to use for future piercings. Just keep in mind that your appointment may take a little longer because they will need to sanitize the jewelry. I'm most impressed with the detailed aftercare instructions. I was horrified by the lack of instructions my sister received after being pierced at a VERY POPULAR piercing place in Berkely on Telegraph Ave (you know the place). She came with me to one of my appointments at DV8 and said, wow, they didn't tell me ANY of that stuff at the other place. And I was like, I KNOW - that's why I only come to DV8. They are also certified by the Association of Professional Piercers, so I feel confident that everything they do is safe and sanitary.

I remembered that Tyler told me that Selena is the piercer that works here. So as I headed out for the day, I stopped in to say hi to everyone. I got to say hello to Tyler and officially meet Selena! Everyone was kicked back and it was so chill in there. Great vibe! I wanted to give them a little business, so I purchased a new nose ring and tongue ring. She pulled out the jewelery and after selecting what I wanted, she sanitized the chair and jewelry. Brought me in and started pushing the jewelery into my nose. After being out for a few days, it needed to be pierced again. OUCH! Selena had to grab the piercing needle (I forgot the word she used for it) and push it through. Then, she had to push the jewelery through. It was rougher this time because I had scar tissue in there. She also put my tongue ring in for me and made sure it was on there nice and tight. She took good care of me, spayed my nose with saline to keep the area clean. I really love the vibe when I walk in here. Am I weird or is there something soothing about the sound of the tattoo gun working? I'm looking forward to when I am ready to get my next piercing because I will be coming back here to see Selena!

Need I say her shop was immaculately clean where I didn't have to second guess myself if I wanted to get my piercing done. Fast forward, below are my pros and cons about her studio: Pros: -Professional and knowledgeable about the male human reproductive anatomy in regards "how" to pierce. And she also gave you a chance if you have any questions/concerns is to ask away to relieve the anxiety. Moreover, if you where wondering what I wanted done, I had a frenum piercing done. I would show photos here, but it is quite explicit. -Her current rates as of Jan 2023 was $85 including the studs/jewelry per piercing session for frenum. And if you want a Prince Albert, it'll be $100 including studs/jewelry. -Very Clean Studio -Gave clear instructions on procedure on what she'll be doing, what to expect the before and after, and especially the after care after the session has been completed. -Provided an after care clean kit for $10, which is mandatory. This is to cover her that she provided the highest quality care given to you plus instructions. Cons: NONE! Thank you Shawna! I will definitely be back, maybe this upcoming fall when Summer Season is over. I am possibly contemplating on getting a Prince Albert sometime in the future. I also noticed them taking special care to consult with and guide folks who were new to tattoos without coming across as condescending, which was really awesome. A huge shout out to Travis. He was super friendly and communicative and really collaborated with me to nail down a design I loved. He executed the tattoo to perfection as well and added a bunch of details that made my memorial tattoo really sing. He even took the time after I left to message me with some aftercare tips.
