From the perspective of a high-end antique and vintage dealer who successfully operated both a…read morebrick-and-mortar and online store, each for several years, the sell prices on MAXSold are beyond ridiculous. We tried the auction platform listing 92 items. A couple of very high-end antique pieces and MCM furniture pieces. For 1800s Empire Period Sevres amphorae, a pair of urns, we got $111 BEFORE Max's 30% cut and for MCM Eames-style loungers we got just under $50 for the pair. We would not use this as a selling platform again and would caution those thinking to sell on MaxSold that it is best for clearing out a home or a garage sale type of offering of lower-end items or items that have little to no value to the seller.

It has taken me a while to write this review because I just can't wrap my head around what…read morehappened. We were told there would be five people from Senet working the sale. In mine and others observations there were two. Both were in the living room. No one was attending the upper level, the lower level or the garage. We had two bedroom sets for sale. My witness told me that the people who bought the dressers were told to just empty the contents on the floor and that's what happened. In the garage, which was packed, nothing was displayed. Paul referred to the items in the garage as " the junk you guys brought over" this was not junk. There was crystal, vintage still in box, holiday decor, and many more items of value in my opinion.Nothing was unwrapped, and there were several broken pieces thrown about the garage along with a lot of garbage, even though there was a garbage can right there. Many items in the garage were new in original packaging, unused. We found several empty boxes with no contents.I personally wrapped all these items myself. I felt there was a total lack of respect for the property and contents of the house. We did not sign up for the clean out but the condition this house was horrendous. I have pictures backing everything up. Paul and Ashley were nice but in my opinion, we were totally misled. It's the opinion of myself and other family members that may be 15 to 20% of items were priced.. I'd say maybe 20% of the contents of this packed try level home were displayed. If I had to do it all over again, I would not hire this company. I also felt like and it's my opinion, hardly any research was done on these items since they were still wrapped, , in drawers. It's been a couple months and still trying to get all the broken glass from the basement that's embedded in the carpeting because of lack of care and supervision. The pool table was not listed on the list of items sold even though it was sold. We had to ask about it and Paul stated he forgot to put it on the list. It just makes wonder how many items were accidentally omitted from the list.

Barb and team were extremely flexible when it came to which items we wanted to keep and sell. We changed our minds a lot about what to do with some of the items and many of those changes came at the last minute. Barb was cool about it and rolled with it. She was a great partner for our first estate sale. We were especially happy with the clean out services post-estate sale. Barb and her team were in and out in a manner of 24 hours after the family picked over items to donate. They left the house in excellent condition for closing (for a sale).

I attended this estate sale at closing time the day before the…read moreadvertised 60% off day and planned to return the next morning for several items I was interested in purchasing. When I arrived, I was told the items had already been "sold" to a friend of the estate sale company before the sale opened to the public. To make matters worse, a sign-up sheet was suddenly produced that had not been available when I was there raising concerns about whether all customers were being given the same opportunity to purchase items fairly. The situation felt very unprofessional and unfair. The rude attitude I received when asking about the items only added to the frustration. Based on my experience, I would be hesitant to attend another sale run by this company.

He went on to explain the turnout was so poor he called the owner to get their approval about starting 50% at 3pm that day (they close at 4) vs next day when they open. He explained with the amount of items left tomorrow that prices may drop sooner if there was a lot of inventory left and owners agreed to start 75% off sooner. We thanked him and left. Live an hour away and drove back for 3 pm, were told by the workers they had no idea about 50% off startin. They questioned the owner who said no, I thought when he sees us he'll remember our earlier conversation about him saying to come at three. He was swearing and very belligerent when we tried to tell him everything he said but he would just cut us off. Then says to get my ass off the property, over what? He was spitting, his face turned bright red. Then he changes his story when I confront him on the facts. He started off saying he said 3 tom and we misunderstood . I countered with 50% off starts in the morning not 3 pm, so he modified it to that he told us to come back for 75% off tomorrow at 3. I mean this guy was nasty, I told him we drove an hour to come back. No sane person is going to drive an hour back and make up this whole story of him talking to the owners unless they heard it directly from him. Such and unprofessional person, last thing he needed was to chase away buyers when he had next to none. I mean my husband had to tell him several times to stop screaming and swearing. My husband is a retired police offer and he said after we left the guy is a psycho. I will never go to one of his sales again and word back from other buyers after posting about him, is he's lost a lot of customers over his bad behavior. The guy is a hot head, rude and ignorant person. I will add, he never allowed us to finish the entire conversation we had with him earlier, he would cut us off and start screaming....
