I had a vintage pop art poster that I wanted professionally framed and thankfully came here. I was uninitiated to the cost of framing art but knew it was very expensive going in. I had two consultations for the piece and relied on the preference of the staff to guide me in selecting the most flattering options for matting and frames-the finished product exceeded my highest expectations and I am so very pleased! The excellent work in execution and design elevated my artwork to its greatest potential-the price paid was very fair for the quality of work-bring your treasured pieces here to preserve and enhance. Very disappointed. Ordered five very expensive custom framed mirrors for three different rooms. Delivery took much longer than was originally promised. Then despite the exact sizing being on the invoices, 4 of the 5 mirrors arrived with the incorrect sizes. I don't expect something like that from a professional. Todd did not want to redo the master bathroom mirrors. I would have expected someone wit integrity to have been embarrassed and to take responsibility and correct his mistakes. That didn't happen. Instead after some back and forth, we arrived at a compromise whereby he would discount several other items in exchange for the mistakes. Several weeks went by, we decided we didn't want to live with the master bath mirrors over sizing, and asked Todd to redo them, fully understanding we would have to pay for them to be redone, annoying as that is. Todd opted out on redoing any further projects in the house. I cannot recommend someone who doesn't do work correctly from the get-go, and then refuses to provide further work. I could not have been more polite or accommodating to Todd and this behavior is baffling. Basically this was a waste of my time and money. I think good work and good customer service looks different from this, and the above describes the lacking points in my experience with Elilott Frame. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Wow! This place is the worst at communicating! I found this place through Groupon- otherwise, I would have gone somewhere else as this place looks very high-end and I would think I cannot afford it. It was pricey even with the discount, but that was really not my problem- my problem is that they are incredible slow and they never communicate with you, unless you call them and even then don't expect a call back from your first voicemail. I waited about a month to get a quote to frame three posters and then I waited over a month for the work to be completed. I wouldn't have known that it was done if I didn't call them. The work on two of them was acceptable- one of them I was very satisfied, but the largest one- was a sure disappointment! It was a 1996 Pebble Beach Concourse poster. After framing you can see wrinkles in the paper, they didn't work to flatten it and there is no mat on it, just a frame- I could have certainly done better at Micheal's! Due to the wait and poor communication I didn't want to leave it with them to fix. Surely, it would have taken another month to get it back. I paid and left- I hope that this post will save someone else from this experience. I always check for reviews and there were none, so at least now you have some warning! read more

My mistake was in not asking for an estimate for the framing job. I could do my own estimate in my head, since I have had many similar-sized pieces framed at other shops. Also, Elliot had given fair pricing to a friend of mine several years ago. My mistake! I went in to pick up my framed print, and the price almost made me keel over. Please understand, this was a simple framing for a regular-sized print with no special features: no odd angles, no museum glass, no special-ordered anything. I paid it with no protest, knowing that I made a mistake in assuming a fair market equilibrium pricing for our area. And what to do, anyhow? Tell them to rip the print out of their frame? They can still charge for the work. Moral of the story??? If they do not present you with a starting invoice, which the store did not with me, letting me walk out with any estimation whatsover-- DO NOT ASSUME THAT THEY WON'T PRESENT YOU WITH A HUGELY INFLATED BILL AT THE END OF THE JOB. Sadder but wiser; and no I will not return. The print is framed nicely, and will stand in testimony on my wall as to my gullibility in trusting this shop. read more

STAY AWAY!!!! (unless you don't need your frame for months and...months). We gave this store our original painting on 8/9 with a stated delivery date of 8/29. Our rep told us she'd call later that day with a price but we never got that call. Over the past few months, we called every few weeks to be told the frame was back ordered but, due "end of week", "next week", "coming soon" etc... On 10/17/17 we called again only to be told the frame was still back ordered. At that point we told them we'd be by to pick up the picture as we were no longer willing to wait. They called back moments later to tell us the painting was completed and ready for pick up. Throughout these past months, Elliot Frame Designs never once proactively contacted us. Each contact was initiated by us, only concluding when we threatened to take back our painting. Their only excuse for the delay and lack of communication was that they "are very busy". Well, let's help them out with that. The more people who stay away, the less busy they will be. read more

NO COMMUNICATION and INCONSIDERATE OF OTHERS TIME! Todd made two different appointments to pick up a painting and never showed either time. When I called the shop the first time after waiting more than an hour, I was told he was at the bank and she didn't know when he would be back. We made a second appointment. Again, he didn't show. When I called the shop I was told he had to go up to San Francisco. Seriously, is it that hard to call your customer and tell them you can't make it!?? My husband is in business for himself as well so he lost billable hours waiting for Todd. We never got a call from him to apologize. Some woman from the shop called to reschedule and I told her we would not waste our time with him again. He was so inconsiderate of our time when a simple phone call would have been appreciated. Really a shame. I see from a review from 2012, Wendy had a bad communication experience too. I would have thought by now, he would have figured this one out. read more
