FORGET the old reviews, under the new owners this is a quiet gem tucked away in an unlikely spot - next to a storage rental place, but that is a plus - it is off the busy road and nice and quiet. The Arlington is beautiful. Unlike similarly-priced hotels like the Hilton Express (and the super-crappy LaQuinta) in Marysville, this a luxurious, gorgeous hotel, with dark wood paneling and brass fittings, a beautiful entry in the middle of two water feature coy ponds, a relaxing and well-decorated lounge, and really good management, under General Manager, Lema. Use your GPS to find the turn - if you pass a storage unit business you just missed it. It is part of a larger building with offices first, keep going about 50 feet and you will be in the drop off area. We good a King bed corner room, and the first thing that made me happy -well, the second, because the first was true concierge check-in by Lema) were the TWO marble-topped vanities, both with hair dryers! One in the room, and one in the roomy bathroom. Well lit, and no fighting for a mirror when you are getting ready to go to an event, like a concert at Tulalip. (BTW there is a shuttle to the casino and back, up to 2 a.m.) The squeaky-clean room had all the amenities - A modern Visio TV screen, an upholstered chair to relax in with a standing linen lamp to read and relax by, a desk (marble top) and a dresser (I hate not having a dresser, even for an overnight stay) a mini fridge and easy to use coffee maker/water heater. The creamy taupe shades made a lovely ambient light, the bed was comfy, with plenty of pillows and extra bedding in a drawer; closet had a double mirror, ironing board and iron, and the hotel soaps were nice. Everything in the room worked. Plenty of water pressure, the switches and plug-ins, the remote, and heating and cooling. That seems like it should be a given, but so many badly run hotels do so poorly checking these things. I should note that we did not have a reservation, so they didn't check it last-minute, it was ready. I DO recommend reservations though, this sweetheart hotel won't be a secret long. The pool was open and clean, with a whirlpool next to it. Not huge, but not crowded with clean dressing rooms and towels. I went down in the morning and splashed around with some kids that were there with their folks, which was fun. The exercise room was not elaborate, but again clean and the machines worked. The breakfast fare was pretty standard but plenty of choices - coffee, tea, pastrys, fruit, four kinds of cereal, yogurt... The hot breakfast offered scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage -all well cooked and warm little pancakes and syrup...I don't remember everything except that the woman running it was as nice and accomodating as she could be, and kept things stocked. If you are going to Marysville and want a way nicer than standard cookie cutter hotel experience, this is the place. Note: Don't mix it up with the Arlington Motel, and you might find old reviews under Wyndam Gardens. Ignore those. But don't tell everybody - you will want a room available if you decide on a last minute night out at the Casino. BTW the restaurant is not open, and probably won't be, which is fine. It is hard to keep a restaurant going, but you may see old reviews that talk about it. It helps keep the rooms affordable.

Sharing great breakfast and talking with them in the mornings were a highlight of our stay. After breakfast, we asked to tag along as they fed their various animals. We bonded with their Sika Deer and almost got the Wallaby to trust us. Carrie would make our evenings great with some fresh baked cookies while we watched old movies on VCR by the fire. We stayed 5 nights at the Mystic Mountain B&B and lets start this review with 5 stars = 6 stars in hospitality all by itself let alone all the other "make yourselves at home" that came with our experience. Carrie & Chuck, our hosts, were delightful from start to finish. They made sure we had everything we needed and then some. From the amazing from scratch breakfasts each morning to the fresh baked plate of goodies each evening our stay was filled with one smile after another. The B&B is only one of the many things they offer with this special 100 acre property. The property also boasts a full service nursery with some of the best looking hanging pots displays I've seen in years and an assortment of farm & exotic animals that will delight kids and adults alike. The views of the surrounding mountains are amazing as are the walks along the river that runs along the property. The peaceful fresh air feeling and soul recharge that comes with this stay is hard to put a price on. Mystic Mountain Farm is only about a 20-25 minute drive to either Arlington or Darrington (sits about halfway between the two on Hwy 530) and I'd highly recommend you consider a stay here to make any visit an extra special one.

I'm not sure if the sheets were changed from the prior stay, or whomever stayed before us with a dog, but they were covered in dog hair. The same dog hair that was all over the floor as if no one vacuumed. The bathroom had ants and dirt emerging from the cracks in the tile. The kitchen didn't have a single clean glass, dish or silverware but there was also no dish soap to clean anything you used. If you are desperate and need somewhere to stay close to the park, then you could probably make it work. But if we were to come back, I'd stay further out in Anacortes or one of the coastal towns and drive in. Unless some serious improvements are made, the price is not worth it, go elsewhere.

We recently had a 1-night stay at this newly-reopened campground and we'll definitely be back in…read morethe future to stay longer! First, the setting is gorgeous. Basically the campground sits in the shadows of Darrington's famed Whitehorse Mountain, and is surrounded by other noteworthy North Cascades peaks. And the fact this place has FULL RV HOOKUPS (!) was a nice surprise, as this is extremely rare with any public campground. We especially enjoyed this because we were there on a hot day, and were able to run the a/c in our travel trailer. Since we were there on a Sunday night, the campground was very quiet. There wasn't a single tent in the tent loop, or in the horse camp loop, and only a few RVs scattered around the RV loop. I imagine it would get busier on weekends, but there's a camp host nearby to help keep things calm just in case. Speaking of camp hosts, the hosts here were some of the friendliest I've met! They run this campground and the one at nearby Squire Creek Park, so they're very busy, but helpful and keep a smile on their face. We even got a handwritten note welcoming us to the park! The on-site restrooms were brand new, clean, and with coded doors so they felt safe. Each restroom had its own, free shower too. Definite bonus! My only (minor) beef with this place is that the whole campground is created from rocky, deep gravel, with the exception of the tent pads which are softer/finer gravel. Still, this is NOT a place where kids could really ride bikes (or, if they did, I'd imagine a lot of skinned up knees). It also seems like the rough surface would be tough on dogs' feet too. Still, this was not a deal breaker, especially in the RV area where you aren't necessarily "living" outside like you would with a tent. Something to keep in mind, though, especially if you have littles or pets. By the way, this is less than a mile from Darrington - so shopping is close by, as is the River Time Brewery which was so good we went there twice!

We saw them feeding along the river bank, resting and drying wings in the trees, soaring high over head, and chattering to each other. We also saw many other bird species, which Luke pointed out along the way. The float itself is a delight. We didn't see anyone else on the river. Other stuff to know : Definitely wear layers with a water proof outer shell, including pants and shoes. I also was glad to have a hat with a brim to keep the rain off my face. You're outdoors in the PNW in the winter. So plan for 40s and rain and embrace the conditions. That said, if you're a dummy like me and leave your rain coat at home, they have ponchos in the visitor center you can borrow. Not ideal but better than nothing. The drive took us 100 minutes from Seattle on a Saturday. It's a gorgeous drive but Rockport and surrounds are lovely so definitely consider making a weekend of it. If you're not from the area I highly recommend driving as far up highway 20 as you can. Quintessential Washington beauty.

This was especially helpful when explaining how the recent flooding affected the eagles ability to fish. The concern was the eagles were not getting enough food and would be going into starvation mode. We were on poop watch. If they poop, then they were eating. Fortunately we saw an eagle take a bodacious dump. Big cheers all around! The drift boat was very comfortable with individual propane heaters and padded seats with backs. This is a pretty remote car camping or RVing spot where I took my dog and two kids for a soggy Memorial Day trip in 2016. There are a few vault toilets and each site has a picnic table, tent base, and a firepit. There is no potable water. Our site #10 was okay - better than the ones between us and the highway but worse than the riverside ones. I'd say the best were 15, 16, 8, or 9 but I could be wrong. The river is pretty and my kids had fun tossing rocks and I let them roam unsupervised the whole time we were there. There are trails and sights such as waterfalls nearby. There is a boat launch in the campground and a neighbor camper told me you can find gold flecks if you bring a pan. The ranger guy comes twice per day and sells bundles of firewood for $6 each, cash only. We reserved our spot for $14/nt on recreation.gov but you can also go the first come first served route if you are a gambler. As compared with other campsites with dozens or hundreds of sites, we preferred the relative peace of Bedal.
