First visit with Dr. Stehouwer on 1-4-2021. She is very professional yet friendly, very encouraging and supportive. She knows how appreciative her clients feel about her baby steps advice changes.
Through our conversation about the New Year's booms & fireworks I learned that she is from Washington state. She dresses so well too- dress, scarf, earrings, necklace, well groomed hair style, very welcomed first meeting.
The office has moved from the 5th to the 4th floor since I came over a year ago. The interior appears brighter, more spacious and prettier.
Opted for a scan on a machine never tried before. You wipe down your palms and soles of your feet. You are standing with your heels on a scale looking apparatus with flat silver colored foot prints where your feet are placed on. You grasp the electrodes in both hands and raise your arms outward to the side for 45 seconds. Music even plays half way.
My temperature was manually taken by Larma, medical assistant. She speaks to you so genuinely politely from beginning to end of her time with you before you meet Dr. Stehouwer.
I was also weighed, had a tape measure reading around my top hip bone.
I really appreciated Dr. Stehouwer going over everything: scan results and the packet of 20+ pages for helpful information, healthier choices to eat and appropriate protein snacks twice a day.
It was great that the IP option of purchasing food items phased out. Now I can save those weekly bucks to buy health conscious groceries. Also great that I will return for my next visit in a month vs weekly weigh ins- yippee. More self monitoring and responsibility on me, but maybe it will work out this way.
Declined sleep apnea test and bariatric route for now. Dr.Stehouwer listens with a kind ear and respects your take on alternatives and options.
Thankyou Dr. Stehouwer, Larma and Berna( front office) for welcoming me so cheerfully. 2021, let's do this!!! read more
