Mostly young. A lot of bruhs, jocks, and students but a lot of children too. Be advised during peak hours, if you don't have an appointment there can be a long wait for walk-ins. I mean like a 45 minute wait. We don't mind because it's my son's favorite place and he gets a bad-ass cut every time. [I also go next door to Coffee Vanilla and grab a latte, there's also a Starbucks in the Safeway across the street.] Hint: Make appointments for days before long week-ends, holidays, Valentines..you get the drill. Also, I have found you can usually walk right in early mornings mid-week. For the longest time they only took cash. They now can take debit and e-transfer (I think). I've also seen a couple of women getting Fades done, impressive. As for who's the best barber-they're all very good. The last time I took my son one of the "lady barbers" did his fade and she was AMAZING.

veteran barbers go at it alone…read more the folks who run this joint come from a long line of other barber shops, they are well versed in hair (facial or cranial). a couple things to note: this is a new business - they have been opened for a few weeks now, the insides are almost fully complete, but they are offering full service for all your barber needs. currently they have a staff of 3, all three are amazingly skilled, i have been a customer of one of the barbers for over 3 years and not once have a i got a poor hair cut. i think what i like most about this place is that the owner is one of the barbers, he is a clever chap with a good business sense. i have mad respect for the small business owner, if you have hair and need a great hair cut...you should book an appointment. downside: they are very busy - so walkins are not immediately served - would recommend that you use their booking service. i like their booking service, txt verification.

Walk-in days are very busy, and you will get whichever barber is free at the time. This can be a good thing or a bad thing, depending on how familiar you are with this place. It's great in that you get to potentially try out different barbers each time and see who does your hair best (Record their names. Request an hair appointment with a barber that did a great job with your hair for future visits). This was particularly helpful for me, because from what I've hear, Asian hair can be quite a bit harder to cut/style than other hairs (I think my stylist back at home mentioned something about thickness). While I've mostly had good haircuts at this place, there was this one time that I had a barber who was making incorrect assumptions about what I wanted to do with my hair (to be fair, I'm good at communicating for most things, but I tend to mess up big time when it comes to explaining how I like my hair), and I emerged distraught and disappointed at "what had become of me". They share the same space as Kabro Salon (it's part of the same service, but offers styling services) and they occasionally send people over there if it gets really busy at the barber shop. I was one of the lucky few that got the free "upgrade" and it was great. I'll elaborate on my experience there further in a separate review as they are the same company, but their salon is arguably a different service. UBS has some awesome barbers, and some that don't quite work for me. Feel this place out and the barber that cuts to your satisfaction, and you'll walk out there with a good haircut that doesn't break the bank.

It's difficult to ever get cut with the same person (if you find a good barber) because they rotate different barbers through from time to time. But I won't be back after today's debacle: Got a pretty terrible haircut (the barber cut my sideburn in half on one side, shaving off most of my natural hairline and leaving me with a strip of a sideburn), and even left portions of uncut hair behind my ears. I asked to have the owner try to fix the mistakes, but when I went back, the owner (who was really friendly) didn't acknowledge that the haircut was a problem, and only did a few quick buzzes before announcing "there!" Only problem is, despite both sides now matching, I still have just a really bizarre and crappy $30 haircut.
