It felt like we had a whole house to ourselves. Had we not been so exhausted from traveling all day, we would not have wanted to go to sleep because the views of the night sky and Moscow town lights in the valley below are so breathtaking. We did sleep though, and soundly - there was no city noise to distract us. Also the owners were great hosts and were very knowledgeable about the area, offering great recommendations for day drives and hikes. There were plenty of delicious choices, including scrambled eggs, breakfast sandwiches, English muffins, cereal, bacon, hash brown bites, apples, and more. They also provide coffee, tea, and hot water. It was a great way to start the day! The hotel also has a fitness center, indoor swimming pool, and free parking, which made our stay even more convenient and enjoyable. We arrived a few hours before check-in, but decided to give it a try. We were greeted at the front door with a big smile by Donna, who I believe owns the place. We apologized for being so early, but she said no problem and invited us in out of the smoke. Mind you- we were in our cycling gear and I was towing a Bob trailer. She said it was fine to bring our gear in and store it in the basement. She had two rooms ready for us and we could choose one to our liking. It was fantastic to come in early and get cleaned up after roughly 35 miles on the bike! The bed was just fine, and the room was very quaint. She made us feel at home the whole time and we had a fabulous time in Wallace despite the crappy air quality. We would be more than happy to stay again the next time we visit Wallace!

But that's not what gives this place five stars: it's the people. I'd give ten stars if I could to truly convey JUST how exceptional the customer service here has been. I won't go into all the details of how they made our stay sensational, because I just don't have enough space on this page to do it. Here's one small example, though: as we were driving into Pullman from Colfax, our EV car was very low on battery. I was, of course, pretty nervous, so I began texting with the employee in the lobby who kept me posted on their EV stalls and ensured I would be able to roll right in and start charging. lt may sound small, but for us - it wasn't. It was peace of mind and comfort and that was our introduction to this phenomenal staff!! Again, there were miles of other examples in a really short stay - and it wasn't isolated to just one person. Every single staff member had a moment where they went above and beyond, did a little something or other that they didn't need to, and made our stay one for the books. Not only will I DEFINITELY come back to this hotel, but it's the only place I'll tell friends, family, colleagues, and strangers on Yelp to go, too. I called into the office to explain the situation and asked to move our reservation up a day. They did not have any availability, which was fine, so I asked to cancel and they said not a problem. I asked specifically again if we would be charged and they said I would not be charged since I called in a few days before the scheduled arrival. Of course my card was charged and they later said they had no record of me trying to cancel, and that it was a non-refundable booking. That is exactly why I called to confirm before canceling and we would not have canceled if I knew I would be charged. Either incompetence or shady stuff. I'm now down $500 plus the other hotel we had to book. I understand it's a business but Was hoping we'd get a little more sympathy while dealing with our sick pup. Apparently not and will not be staying at Hotel McCoy ever again. Disappointing The Residence Inn in Pullman however was a great spot and was very accommodating.
