Used an apprentice as well as the regular technician. All went well and because they can do other plumbing tasks besides water heater maintenance, they looked at my other needs and will get back to me with suggestions. The best!

My gas tank water heater was 20 years old and I decided to replace it pre-emptively. I requested a…read morequote from 3 companies, one of which was the Water Heater Doctor. Their quote came in the lowest and Brandon was extremely helpful on the phone, so I ended up choosing them. - The quote process was great: I submitted their online form, they gave me a call asking for more details, I sent them a few pictures, and they gave me another call with solutions and a quote. The quote also happened to be the cheapest of the 3 companies I got bids from. - The installation went very smoothly. I understand that direct vent water heaters are a little tricky to install, but Brandon installed perfectly. He arrived on time, got rid of our old water heater, and added a new water heater with several fixes: the overflow pipe now runs to the sink, he used a "flex vent" kit so the water heater can sit on the ground, and he put the water heater in a tray to reduce issues from slow leaks since I don't have a basement drain. - After the install, Brandon taught me how to change the temp / turn the water heater off / how to flush it / how to change the anode rod. Very pleased with the work and my new water heater is working flawlessly. The only downside was that there was no permit. I'm no expert on permits. Portland's website says that water heater changes require a permit. Brandon said it's a "gray area" for residential. I am not planning on selling the house and things looked good to me, so I don't mind too much.

Brenden was exceptional!…read more We just moved into our home. We had a home inspection and our plumbing came back all good! A couple days after we moved in, we kept hearing the most bizarre sounds in the wall. We researched plumbing companies & Cornels came right up. I reached out on a Tuesday and got a response within minutes! We were able to chat via text which was honestly very convenient. They were able to address my concerns professionally & were soooo friendly. I was able to get scheduled the very next day. Wednesday morning rolled around and I got a text with Brenden's picture, which made me feel super safe and even provided a little information about him. He then called and asked if it was a good time for him to head over and gave his ETA. When Brenden arrived he was friendly, warm, and so professional. He was able to easily see what was going on, explain to me in a way I could understand what was going on, and assured me if we still continued to hear the noise to call back. I truly will call Cornels for any of our plumbing or heating needs!! Brenden was wonderful & secured a life long costumer!

I am dropping my review down to 2 stars…read more I spent nearly $25k for a new Daikin Heatpump, furnace, and eev. In three months I have had to have Cornel's come by at least three times to get this system working. We specifically had it replaced in spring so we would be cool on hot days this summer. It's 83 degrees in my home right now at 11pm. The first time (less than a week after install) I had them come out because our new system wasn't cooling. Turns out the motherboard in the heatpump went out in less than 1 week. Zero sorry's given. I then had to wait a week for that to get replaced. Zero sorry's given. This time my blower isn't working and the house isn't cooling. I have to wait a few days till they can get here, and even after that, probably more days waiting for a repair. I am beyond frustrated. We've never even gotten an apology for the inconvenience this has all been. How hard is it to just empathize for a moment and say "sorry this is happening to you"? I regret going with them because they felt polished and professional. Turns out, I feel that was only before they sold me a product. Cornel's, fix this. Even our dying 25 year old air conditioner did a better job than this system has.
