After first getting service quotes from Nissan dealers both in Dubuque and Rockford I decided to give them a try three years ago after moving into the area and have never regretted (it). After "anally" comparing what I had paid with what we're currently paying for all parts and services and on like vehicles, the value and service are definitely with Leibold. As another comparison I have requested various service inspection quotes on three different vehicles (now) and from three different auto centers (each). I now never have to worry again whether an automotive center: actually did the work they billed for; over-billed for service work; or would provide questionable product and service. Also, in recently needing a new replacement vehicle quickly, both Tim and Geri shared their auto make knowledge which was a big help in what I chose. (Holy cow, I just realized that I've had a draft of this review sitting unfinished for over 2.5…read moreyears. I'm a terrible Yelper. Anyway, better late than never...) So after an unfortunate meeting with a large piece of metal on a rural road, I rolled my poor Nissan Sentra over to the only auto repair place in Freeport that I knew about (thanks to its distinction as the "best repair shop in town," according to a local newspaper survey). Even though I hobbled in just minutes before closing time, they took their time to check out the damage and then gave me a quick assessment of the situation (which ended up with a gathering of employees staring at the underside of my car in amazement that something could have done so much destruction without resulting in a complete breakdown (or an explosion (seriously))). Ultimately, my auto was toast, and it couldn't be put back on the road without significant work. Dave, the owner, stuck around to help me figure out a rental car, and then actually offered to drop me off on his way home! I don't want to make it sound like this should be expected as standard practice, but this level of customer service -- even in a rare exceptional situation -- is pretty much unheard of. All in all, the work that they did was perfect, they went the extra mile personally and professionally, and I'm still happily chugging along 60,000-or-so miles later. I'm going to need some more work done again soon, and it's too bad that I wasn't able to take the Auto Repair Specialists with me when I moved back to the Chicago burbs.

They not only diagnosed and fixed the problem with the light, but found another issue. I've had places do that before, but it was for upcharge services that I definitely didn't need, and they made me feel pressured. Dave and Pat let me know of at real issue in a pleasant, matter-of-fact way, along with all of my options. They even pointed out when I got my car later that my battery wasn't doing as well as it should and told me about how to go about getting it replaced for less elsewhere. 4. Their prices are fair. Like most people, I always worry how much I'll end up shelling out that I wasn't planning on originally. Dave and Pat makes their prices very clear before I agree--no "$5 for parts and anywhere from nothing to a million dollars on time, just depends on how long it takes." The cost is definitely fair. If you're looking for a kinda clean lobby to hang out in for an uncertain amount of time while people wearing matching clothes do something-or-other in the garage, this won't be your place (no major shade intended, but I worked at one of those shops for years, so trust me on this...). But if you want your car fixed by people you can feel confident in entrusting your keys to at a fair price, I suggest Dave and Pat's.
