I had never taken my pom mix Brady, to a real groomer before, he'd been to petsmart for his ears and nails but I've done most of his grooming myself. I decided to take him for a full haircut before the summer. I choose bark avenue because of convience, I live about a block away. When i called to make an appt the women was very informative and told me everything that would be done (bath, haircut, towel dry,, nails, ears, and expessing of his glads). The cost was very reasonable, $40. I chose not to have his glands expressed on my own choice. When we got there I was a little nervous, only because it was a new place and my dogs nerves tend to rub off on me. As my boyfriend and walked in I was immeditely struck with chaos. The owner had 2 large dogs behind the counter who were all over the place. This didnt help my nerves at all, and just made Brady even more skiddish. She reviewed once more with me what was going to be done and we headed out. The whole thing took about an hour. When I picked him up he looked great! He was even on the floor playing with the other dogs! Although I will say that she was very quick to get me out the door. Once we got home I noticed he was limping slightly in the back leg. Upon closer inspection I found that she had come dangerously close to his quick on 2 nails. She hadn't quite clipped it but came close enough to were he was sensitive all day. We started taking him to Kaitlyn a few years ago, and it's one of the best decisions we've made. She always returns him in beautiful condition, looking so handsome and smelling great. She treats him with the utmost care, as if he were her own, and she always does an excellent job with his lion cut. Before finding The Grooming Box, we had tried another mobile groomer at a comparable price point, and even with two people in the van working on him, the results weren't nearly as good. The difference in quality and detail with Kaitlyn is night and day. I've recommended The Grooming Box to friends and co-workers in the area, and everyone has had wonderful experiences with nothing but positive things to say about Kaitlyn and the other groomers. The staff who answer the phone are polite, professional, and easy to work with, and the quality of care and grooming is unbeatable. The dog house has provided him a chance to socialize and play with other dogs. When we are walking there he is so excited he pulls me down the street to get there. Jed and Vera are great too!
