We had Elite Car Audio install both a back-up camera and a touchscreen radio a few years back in two separate installations. After last winters snow we developed a leak in our sunroof. After the leak our backup camera operation became intermittent. We finally had time to take it back in to Elite Car Audio, he found the problem and fixed it (something burned out due to the leak)! He also ask if we wanted to connect the backup camera to the radio touchscreen. Of course we said yes! Well, we were back on the road shortly with the camera working on both the original rear-view-mirror and now the radio touchscreen. All for a very small nominal cost! Very pleased with the service! Probably secured the breaker for the battery cable, and did such a good job getting the knobs and wires out of the way that I had to ask him where they were placed. I have been dealing with Elite Car Audio and Erich for years. There is a reason he has a wait list! Im not sure what Courtney is talking about, or why she felt compelled to write a crappy review after almost 3 years. Erich has always been very honest with all of his customers. It is obvious that she is confused about what she spent money on. I would suggest she reference her receipt, she might just be surprised at the actual cost of the stereo swap and cable. It is hard for me to believe that she would spend money, have it break in 6 months, not go back to have it fixed, be so distrait about it that nothing is done about it for 2 more years. All of it could have been taken care of with a simple phone call to the shop, Erich always goes out of his way to make sure his customers are happy with their purchases. This is the best, one-man-show in the car audio world greater Portland has to offer, hands down. Erich runs a tidy shop, super clean with cool displays and nice selections of speakers, woofers, head units, Dynamat, cable, you name it. I first employed his services to install some nice tweeters in a stock position of my dash literally about 12 years ago. He was SUPER fast, that I remember...had them both installed well inside of 20 mins! This time, a dozen years later, he's in his newer, very clean shop and the one-man force that he is still gets the job done, day in, day out. I brought him a full system to install with a stock head unit, waiting my patient 2 weeks for the appointment (he's always busy = good sign!) and in it went, super clean, stock-looking install, sub in the trunk, 5-channel amp tucked away nicely under a seat, nice gauge wiring ran to all the components of the system and all dialed in with gains inside of 5 hours for Definitely less than a more well-known chain place was going to charge. It was nice to know, too, that my very old sub is still functioning pretty well, just not very powerful compared to the new door speakers and amp set up I have. So while it sounds good now, I know where I'll come back to when I can afford/justify a subwoofer swap. Ultimately, THIS is a Local business WELL worth supporting. You're getting awesome service from a guy that Breaths car audio, down to minute details and does Great, Fast work for a reasonable, competitive price. If you're not in Sandy, I can tell you that it's worth the drive to head out to Elite Car Audio. I came from the SW area and I'm really glad I did. I asked Elite Car Audio to change out my stock stereo to anther one I had. He said he could do it and it would be done in 10 min. While I was waiting he came and told me there was no audio in to the new stereo. He said he could add one for an extra $80 bucks. I told him to do it cause that was the main point to changing the stereo out. After everything was done it worked for about 6 months then the cable for the iPod/phone audio stopped working. Now it been 2 years and I asked my husband to take apart the dash to see what was wrong and try fixing it. We found out there was an audio in option on the stereo the whole time but the guy that owns elite car audio decided to lie to me and create a new one with sketchy cable wires in my dash. We bought a audio in cable for 10 bucks plugged it in and it works great now. The guy scammed a young 18 year old girl. Don't go here. read more

We had Elite Car Audio recently install a radio in our Class B RV. Erich had quoted my wife a price on a new cabinet radio and installation costs. Not having known my wife had talked to Erich, I had already purchased a new replacement from another vendor and he had no qualms about installing. His quote for installation was very minimal and done in a very professional manor. We had set up an appointment and he did it and was done on time. Did a great job. Had to exchange my Sony Car Play due to defective face place. Thought it had a CD player so called the shop to get it replaced. Owner said it was no problem and he had a Kenwood with CD he would install. I asked him how much more it would be? He said just a "restocking" fee. When I got there he told me it was $100 more!! I was very surprised and he dashed out to install it. I went into the work area and asked him if he had another one that was less and he flatly said NO. I went back inside and another customer came in he was helping. I told him I wanted to speak with him when he was done helping other person. I reminded him what he told me on the phone about the restocking fee. He said, oh sorry, do you want me to take it out, cause I'm not going to lose money on it!! I should have him take it all outa do refund me but I was so pissed I just left. Told him I was going to have him install another system in my 65 but not after this experience. He was sarcastic as well so don't believe all these positive reviews. Either he wrote them or a better previous employee helped those customers. He did apologize for telling me about charging only a restocking fee, but he knew exactly what he was doing by charging me higher and telling me he didn't have anything else! He didn't even bother to show me how to do a quick set up! He thought I was an easy target and yes, I can return it but do t want to go back. Being pre- judged as dumb women was not in his best interest so leaving this review for him to read and know I was ready to verbally let loose on him but didn't because now I think he gets my point the day I walked out the door of his shop.
