But the way the car was designed it would take hours to exchange the plugs. The chugging just got worse and worse so we decided to fix before trip back to Austin. Went to another place first and they were too busy. So the tech told me where he use to take his cars. EN auto really did it up right. They took time to diagnose the problem that wasn't showing up on the diagnostic tool. A tune up would not have fixed it. Replaced only what was required. And since he could not find a ride for me back to the hotel,he gave me a loaner so I wouldn't miss my sons baseball game! It wasn't cheap, but not unfair especially for the time it required, not having an appointment and getting a loaner too. Too bad I don't live around here. I would have a new mechanic!

Without any real knowledge of the area or where to get the car repaired we ended up at Shelby's Service Center. This is around 3pm and they figured out that the ac compressor was causing the engine to shake uncontrollably till it felt like it was about to stall. They told me they could stop the shaking but we'd be without A/c the rest of the trip. I they gave a quote for the repair and and said they would get us back on the roads. The first 2 compressors they installed didn't work properly so the owner drove and Personally picked up the last compressor for our car they knew of in the city. Long story short we had a rough afternoon but somehow we landed at a place that valued our business and were very friendly. They stayed 2 hours after hours just to get us back on the road and if I had more ways to thank them I would. This was the best experience I've ever had with any auto shop and if you live in Texarkana or are passing through you should 100% make this your trusted service shop. 10/10 - Highly Recommend Trevin at High Performance!…read more I can't say enough good things about Trevin M. from High Performance. My 2003 Toyota Camry had a broken bolt on the tension assembly that made changing the alternator drive belt a nightmare. I had pretty much washed my hands with the car and figured it was a lost cause--but I decided to give Trevin a shot. He came out to my house, worked hard, and really knew what he was doing. He ended up having to pull the alternator and drill out the broken bolt that was still threaded in there. Not an easy job, but he handled it like a pro. Trevin was knowledgeable, personable, and didn't give up when most would've. You can tell he takes pride in his work and cares about getting things done right. I'd definitely call High Performance again for any of my vehicle needs and would recommend them to anyone looking for honest, quality work. Thanks again, Trevin - 10 out of 10 for sure!

Our experience with AAMCO Transmission and Total Car Care has been less than satisfying…read more We initially took our 2005 F-150 to them in December to have the transmission replaced -- a $5,500 repair. In February, we had to take it back because it was having issues shifting into overdrive. They told us it needed a new solenoid motor -- another $560 out of pocket. Two weeks later, the dashboard lit up with transmission fault errors, sending us back to AAMCO for a third visit. They kept the truck for almost a month and ended up replacing the transmission again under warranty. When they finally called to tell us it was ready, they casually mentioned that the truck was overheating -- and even asked us if it had any overheating problems before bringing it to them (it absolutely did not). They told us we "wouldn't make it very far" with it overheating like it was -- but at that point, after waiting weeks already, my husband told them he would pick it up and handle it himself. It took us two hours to get it home because we had to stop every few miles to let it cool down. Once we got it home, we opened the hood and discovered the battery wasn't even bolted down -- it was just sitting loose, and there was NO transmission fluid even registering in the dipstick! We took the truck to a local shop near us for a second opinion and found out AAMCO had never flushed the radiator or transmission cooler when replacing the transmission -- a critical step to prevent overheating and protect the new transmission. That oversight cost us another $650 to have corrected properly. Communication throughout this entire ordeal was poor at best -- calls were not returned in a timely manner, updates were hard to get, and overall we feel like the quality of work was extremely lacking. We've now spent over $6,700 dealing with transmission issues because of this shop -- not including the lost time, stress, and frustration. We would strongly caution anyone considering AAMCO Transmission and Total Car Care to get a second opinion before trusting your vehicle here. Based on our experience, we absolutely would not recommend them.
