However, as usual, Mike dealt with the issue with professionalism and a genuine commitment to solving my problem without gouging me with a costly repair. Mike diagnosed the issue and explained it to me in terms I could understand, which I really appreciated. He gave me a clear breakdown of the repair process and an estimate of the cost, which was fair and reasonable. He didn't JUMP to charge me for an expensive part that I didn't need (which the dealership would have done). The repair itself was completed in a timely manner, and when I picked up my car, the air conditioner was working better than ever. I have been going to Mike for my car repairs for many years as I value both his honesty as well as his dedication to customer satisfaction. I highly recommend Mike's for their work, their honesty, and their attention to detail.

It's taken me awhile to write this since I do have other life priorities than writing reviews. But here it finally is. After they changed my front brakes, and let them convince me the rotors needed changed but...did not. What was I thinking?! Anyway...finally had funds to get the rear brakes done. Was given an estimate but then AFTER the brakes were done & I got the bill it was $200 higher (I realize and estimate is just that) however $200 when they couldn't get the ones quoted so got the more expensive ones, without telling me First! Considering I am barely surviving on SS (which they were aware of my financial constraints) but even if not...they should've told me BEFORE they did the job giving me the option to reschedule!! It wasn't a dire emergency! It wouldn't been the smart decision...it's just poor business sense if one really cares about retaining a customer! On top of that, the rotors unlike the front ones which aren't near as bad, have the greatest amount of brake dust I've ever experienced on my 19 yo car...it accumulates in less than 2 days! They constantly need Cleaned it's so horrendous and unsightly...and for $200 MORE?!?! Plus they Screech when I brake!! Unacceptable & Inexcusable!! I should've listened to a previous post to take business elsewhere. Another one bites the dust!! Literally! uUIp

Any time I bring my vehicles in to be worked on I'm looking for two things: someone who will give…read moreme a fair deal on the work and parts and be honest about what needs to be done. George Wilson is that person. I've been having Broadway Automotive work on my vehicles (5) for years, and they always do a great job. It's a small shop, and the owner George is extremely honest, and doesn't sugar coat the issues. He'll tell you straight up what the problem is and what it will cost to fix it. I've had everything from oil changes to break jobs and engine rebuilds, and have never had a bad taste in my mouth. One key is to get there early, as once they start working, they're focused on getting vehicles fixed and out of there. If you're looking for a local shop that won't overcharge you or sell you something you don't need, go here. George will usually tell me what issues are happening to my vehicle--he'll say something like, "The front brake rotors are pretty worn, you've got about 5,000 miles left of them," so you have an idea when they need to be fixed and can plan for it. So pay attention when he tells you what's coming up next.

Im sure that the lower overhead of the 3 different vendors and OEM prices verses aftermarket options, as well as mark up of the prices. Brake jobs are a quick easy job and does not require the highest technical training . I definitely would recommend Humberto over the dealer for most repairs!

Part 1 The worst…read moreexperience ever. Do not allow this man to work on your car. He has no auto repair qualifications or accreditation. Most recently he worked on the front end of my car. The very next day all of my sensors were disabled and the backup camera stopped working. When I started the car there was a loud alarm and a message on the display that said to take to the car to the dealership. I called John and asked if he would come back and review his work as everything stopped working the day after he worked on the car. On his return, he told me that he knows very little about electrical systems and for that reason he does not work on electrical issues. He suggested that all of my sensors and backup cameras stopped working as a result of a faulty wire that had finally gone bad. Then he took his leave. Here's the kicker! He quoted me $500 to do the job, with a labor time of 8-12 hours to complete it. He was most insistent, that he would be at my home first thing in the morning at 8am, and that he would be working through the day into the evening. This is a big job he told me, it's going to take me all day! Contrary to what he told me, his actual performance time was 2 labor hours. I'm of course expecting him to be in my garage for the next 8-12 hours. I was quite surprised to say the least to find him sitting in his truck holding my car keys hostage. I approached him and asked what was going on. He said that he completed the job and was waiting on me to ZELLE him his money. I told him I was a little confused, you took 2 hours to complete the job and you've been waiting in your truck for over two hours. I first wanted to address the labor estimate he provided me. Which we did agree on of course, But I was quite troubled that he finished so quickly. This was a huge disparity, in comparison to what he told me. So I thought I better refer to the worksheet with the line items of work to be done and the associated labor cost. No wait, there was no itemized worksheet, in fact there was no paperwork at all to speak of. I asked, wouldn't it be appropriate that you reduce your price, Seeing as the labor quote was off by 10 hours. He said no, I still did a lot of work. His other explanation was, sometimes in his line of work, an estimate could come in a few hours under or over what was quoted. But he would still get paid for the quoted price. I said my friend, it would be reasonable, if in fact, it was just a few hours, but it was 10 hour! Would it be fair to say that this is quite the stretch. I also felt his sitting in his truck for more two hour, until I came out to pay him was disrespectful and demoralizing. He had changed my oil on one occasion and repaired a flat tire on another. In both instances, once he was finished he left promptly and said to just ZELLE him the money when I had a chance. And that he trusted me. But now this man is sitting in his truck while it's running, for hours, with my key to my car as a hostage for payment. I asked, why were you sitting in your truck for such a long time, and why didn't you leave the key in my seat as you have done on other occasions. His response was that he always waits to be paid before leaving a job. Which simply is a lie! I assured him, that I am no thief. And have no intentions on withholding or stealing his money. Moving this escapade forward, I took my car to the dealership. There they discovered that the harness that connects all of my sensors and back up camera was just hanging, disconnected in the front area of my bumper where the supposed 12 hours of labor transpired. I digress, 2 hours of grueling labor took place. I was speechless, but the mechanics at the dealership at least got a good laugh out of it. John had no business working on my vehicle. He lacked the technical fortitude and capability to work on a foreign car. He should have made this clear to me before tinkering with my car like a weekend hobby.
