That loyalty made my most recent visit all the more disappointing. I had a 10:50am appointment. The day before, Felicia texted asking if I could push to 11am. I said I'd try to rearrange my plans. She replied: "let's keep the 10:45." I managed to move things around (because if she was asking, I figured she was in need, and I wanted to help) and arrived at 10:57 -- 7 minutes late by the original booking, not 15. When I walked in, Felicia told me I was 15 minutes late. I explained I'd rearranged my schedule to accommodate her request. She shrugged and said "too bad, I already booked someone afterwards.". It wasn't until I was in the room that I checked the reminder email -- original appointment: 10:50. So by her own scheduler, I was 7 minutes late, not 15. Felicia eventually gave me an extra 5 minutes to make up for the mix-up, and I appreciated that. But the cold, dismissive way she started the appointment stayed with me. That's not how you treat someone who's followed you for 15 years. Part of why I see Felicia specifically -- and not one of those high-volume places with curtain walls and hospital beds for tables (you know the ones) -- is the whole experience. A facial should be calming and restorative, and Felicia's warmth has always been as much a part of that as her technique. When that warmth disappeared at the door, it colored everything that followed. The facial itself was top notch. Felicia is genuinely skilled, stays current on products and techniques, and can deliver a top-notch treatment in her sleep. I hope this was an off day, because the person that greeted me at the door was not the warm person that I've been loyal to for a decade and a half.

I was so so pleased when Carla give me a wonderful face/neck/shoulder massage while under the LightStim. I've had so many technicians either do their dishes during that time or leave the room completely and I appreciated her care for the full treatment. Update to my prior review: After my original review, Zavant…read moreAesthetics publicly responded and asked me to contact the office directly so they could "resolve this." I did exactly that. I made another appointment and specifically requested to speak with management beforehand. I was then told that no complimentary treatments would be offered and was again referred to the consent form because it states that hair regrowth can occur after treatment. That response continues to mischaracterize my concern. My issue is not ordinary regrowth. I developed a substantial increase in hair compared with my pretreatment baseline after laser hair removal -- a recognized complication known as paradoxical hypertrichosis. Paradoxical hypertrichosis is a known, documented complication of laser hair removal; reported incidence is measurable and in some anatomical areas substantial. Because it represents worsening of the exact condition being treated, a reasonable cosmetic patient could consider it material to the decision to proceed. The consent form only warns of incomplete reduction/regrowth and hormonal growth, not laser-induced increased hair growth. That distinction is important. Telling a patient that some hair may grow back is not the same as informing them that the treatment itself can potentially stimulate more, darker, thicker, or denser hair than was present before treatment. I am not criticizing Zavant simply because a complication occurred. As a physician, I know that complications can occur even when a procedure is performed appropriately. My concern is the informed-consent process and the way this complication has been handled afterward. I was still willing to return and explicitly stated that I was willing to pay for another treatment. Despite that, my appointment was canceled and I was told that this was "standard procedure" until the manager, who was reportedly on vacation, could review the matter after the manager stated that my consent covered my concern and no complimentary treatments would be given. I then asked the person communicating with me to provide their name and asked whether there was an interim manager available while the manager was away. They would not even identify who I was speaking with, and no interim management contact was provided. In my view, that is highly unprofessional, particularly when dealing with a patient who is attempting to address a complication and follow up on the practice's own public invitation to resolve the matter. What is especially concerning is that the practice continues to rely on consent language about ordinary "regrowth" rather than addressing the actual complication I experienced. Patients considering laser hair removal here should specifically ask about paradoxical hypertrichosis and what the practice will do if treatment results in increased hair growth rather than reduction. I had hoped this could be handled professionally and amicably. Unfortunately, the combination of an incomplete disclosure of this specific risk, repeated characterization of paradoxical growth as ordinary regrowth, cancellation of my appointment even when I was willing to pay, and refusal to identify the person communicating with me has only increased my concern about how this matter has been handled. Below is a copy of my consent which clearly delineates hair regrowth and does not discuss the possibility of worsening/thickening of hair paradoxically. I believe this is not in good faith. I will not be referring patients to this practice again.

But then when I got into the actual facial procedure, it didn't go so well. I was assigned someone named Kyung. She used the needle/lancet A LOT. I had maybe one stubborn, deeper pimple, but the fact that she used a needle to puncture and squeeze a bunch of spots caused a lot of scarring/hyperpigmentation that's taken me over two weeks now to exfoliate and get rid of, and its not yet near to being clear. If their smaller ones that can be squeezed then a lot is normal- but the needle was used probably over 20 times. Not only that, but every time she spoke, it was always an attempt to get more money. First, it was asking if I wanted to buy a package or some sort of membership. She asked twice and kept on being pushy as she was doing the procedure. Next, she asked me to tip at least twice as well, and reminded me several times, even got the physical sign with her venmo/PayPal and showed it to me, to make sure I understood. Note that maybe had we made other small talk, then maybe, just maybe the way she was so pushy and trying to get more money out of me would be fine, but it was really every moment she spoke was an opportunity to get more money. It's a horrible feeling. That said, I wouldn't recommend trying, unless perhaps you're fluent in Korean and could veer the conversation to other things or speak more firmly when sold to.
