I must confess, she is a friend from high school (Go Warriors), however I hold my Yelp integrity to a high standard, so I am reviewing honestly without bias...promise! I was happy to support a local business owner and a fellow alumnus! Her studio is in a genius place. Some rich person created little mini studios to rent out to individual hair stylists and estheticians. It is pure genius, each studio is small enough to decorate to the fullest, but spacious enough to house a few clients if needed. Each door is a window, so you can look in - so its very inviting and shows each persons personality through their studio. I am in love with this idea and big ups to the owner of this brothel of people who want to make you pretty. As for Skin by ME....Elisha (one of two in this studio) was awesome. Sweet as molasses, but don't be fooled, she is very talented and very educated in skin care. She doesn't just go through the motions to earn her money. She cares, she provides tips, information, and most importantly doesn't force products down your throat. Calm and relaxed, this is heaven. My skin was glowing...I was even told I looked like I didn't have a facial, right after by my friends. They said I was glowing. If any of you are familiar with facials, most people go straight home and don't leave for at least one day...it can be a horrible sight of blotches and redness that is not the business. Also, Elisha always has specials. She posts them on her FB business account, so go hit that "like" button and thank me later. 15% off your first facial, I ain't mad at that ;) She also sells Dermologica products, which she also runs sales on too, which you should know, NO ONE every discounts that stuff!! I purchased the groupon for the Brazilian wax and I have to admit, it was my first time ever getting a Brazilian wax so I went in not knowing what to expect. I made an appt with Elisha and she is extremely friendly. I did not feel uncomfortable at all even with my legs butterflied out. She talked me thru the steps and made sure I was okay after each strip was pulled off. Her studio is small but inviting and homey. So, this place is located in front of the Macy's downtown and Skin by M.E. is actually inside this building called Sola Salon. Personally, I think it's kind of cute how there's so many mini salons in the building. Anyways. I purchased a groupon for a Brazilian because it was an amazing deal. At first I had an appointment with Michelle, but I got lost the first time around trying to find the place, which is why I mentioned where this place is actually located. So, I had to schedule an appointment, but this time it was with Elisha. She was really nice, and was really good at what she does. She uses a hard wax, and even though it did hurt.. It didn't hurt as much as my last Brazilian which was done with soft wax. I couldn't schedule an appointment with her in 3-4 weeks, because I purchased a groupon for another Brazilian at another place. But, I know I won't love it as much as I loved this place! So, right after I've used my last groupon on, I most definitely will be back here! read more

I thought I was using the right products and had a clean face. After Elisha explained to me the changes in my skin and the proper care I needed I decided to make an appointment for a microdermabrasion. After seeing my results with just 1 visit I decided to make 3 more. I will not be going anywhere else, my new products are great, my skin is no longer dry and is sooo soft. Last was horrible! I got the groupon for this place and just got my final and third waxing done. It started out well and looked great. Second was ok. The third was HORRIBLE. I really like the girl but she did the worst job I have ever had getting a Brazilian. I knew I was in pain but didn't realize till I got home that she had left wax on me, still a lot of hair, AND I was bleeding. Very sad bc I really would of kept coming here. Tried Elisha's services for a Brazilian with a Groupon. It's a nice, stylish salon a corner off Folsom Blvd. Small parking lot but lots of street parking and apparently you can park in the ice cream store's lot with no issues. Elisha did a very good job and had a comfortable and clean space. She uses hard wax and her technique is as pain free as possible, obviously still some discomfort, it's waxing, not a foot massage. Now I was super scared to have a Brazilian wax. I had heard and seen through media that it was pretty painful. But I scored a great deal through Groupon so I thought I'd at least give it a try. Skin by Me is located downtown right across the street from the downtown plaza. It's a large suite filled with 20 or so mini salons. It was modern and clean. Elisha was ready for me right on time. After a quick intro we commenced. I undressed and we got started. Her salon was very clean and she uses the best products. All and all it was a great experience. I used to go to European wax center and the thing that I hated about that place was due to the product the constantly sell. Elisha did a wonderful job. I have very sensitive skin!! I am allergic to the sun that is how sensitive my skin is! When I get my face waxed I turn a mean shade of red. So I was telling a friend and she referred me to Elishaand I am soo lucky I found her. I go get my wax by her and I am not red at all. She cares is soft handed and takes her time. Michelle Chavez, one of the ladies that works at the studio, started with a skin resurfacer and recommended products for me to use daily at home... I noticed a drastic change within a few weeks...
