From my very first class with my teacher, Connie, I felt welcomed and supported. I remember working on a challenging scene, but Connie helped me feel comfortable, confident, and excited about beginning this acting journey. As I continued taking classes, I noticed tremendous growth in both my confidence and my work ethic. The encouragement, training, and support I received gave me the courage to pursue opportunities I never thought possible. One of my proudest accomplishments was being cast in Avenue Q at Chabot College in Hayward, California, in March 2026. It was my very first musical, and I had the honor of playing Gary Coleman, the superintendent. I truly believe that my experience at 321 Acting Studios helped give me the confidence and skills to step into that role and succeed. From the bottom of my heart, I want to thank everyone at 321 Acting Studios for helping me grow as both an actor and a person. They have created a welcoming community that feels like family from the very beginning. Their dedication, encouragement, and genuine care inspire actors to believe in themselves and reach their full potential. Not sure if it's so expensive because it's now in the hilariously "trendy" aka GENTRIFIED Atwater Village. I did not and would not ever sign my kids up for this. There are plenty of wonderful summer camps available through the city that are much more cost affective. This is for parents who bought a million dollar house in Atwater, and want to brag to their friends their kids are in some bougie premium priced class. To top it off, only ONE parent is allowed in the studio for the final performance at the end of the week. If the other parent wants to see the performance, you have to stand outside in the heatwave... no sitting around the inside perimeter or anything like that. Just outside in the sun cooking.

The highlight of her day is going to art class with Lauren - this is not an exaggeration. At pickup the other day, she said, "Mom, I belong there". I mean - it doesn't get better than that. They really see my daughter and fully support her creativity. The classes are small, the studio is convenient, bright and lovely (parking is easy! Always a plus for parents) and the teachers are tremendous. They are the best - ten million stars.

Art/Work/Place has been an amazing experience for our family. Our 8-year-old has been in Mrs…read more Billy's class for over a year, and we knew it was something special when he came home and gave us a drawing lesson! Our son is naturally quiet and shy, but Mrs. Billy has helped him build confidence by encouraging him to express his own ideas and interests in his artwork and we can't thank her enough for how that has helped him come out of his shell in the classroom and beyond! Mrs. Billy also takes the time after class to update us and offer insights and constructive feedback on his creative growth. Based on our experience, I'd advise parents to take negative reviews with a grain of salt. All the teachers and staff here are genuinely so nice and unlike programs that focus mainly on copying pictures, Art/Work/Place balances technical skill building with creativity, imagination, and play. As someone who works as a designer in the gaming industry and has an art background, I can honestly say they're teaching kids the right way to learn art. Our son is already excited to be back in the fall!

Gradually my son would come home sad and upset. At first, I brushed off his complaints as maybe he just had a random rough day. Today, I picked up my son and Ms. Billy complained about his projects and all kinds of stuff right in front of my son. My son came to the car crying feeling terrible about his artwork. I asked him several questions about what happened as I didn't want to make any rash judgements about the teacher. He explained that he felt that Ms. Billie was being mean to him and that he was really struggling with clay (it's a new skill for him). I asked if she helps him with his clay a little extra since he's obviously struggling more than the rest of the more experienced students (I'd think she'd spend a little extra time with him). He said no - she was drinking tea and when she came back he had made a snail project where its tongue broke off and couldn't put it back on. He said he destroyed it and my son said she made another mean comment to him: "ohh so you're breaking stuff, instead of making stuff". He was struggling to put on the tongue, which you didn't help him with. Ms. Billy told me it was Gary the snail which didn't go with the CA theme they're working on. Ok. My question is: how is one of your struggling students able to make an entire snail project without you noticing until he's that far along with it? Then, the tongue falls ogf of it, you make a comment to him about it being wrong, he destroys it, you make another comment to him about him about breaking things instead of making things. Ok. If she's going to drink tea instead of helping struggling students then she shouldn't be surprised about them struggling. He said she was helping the other students - not him so much. He also said he got up to grab a toothpick, and she said to him "you're disrupting the entire class" and he was embarrassed that all the kids stared at him. He wasn't being defiant but she keeps treating him as if he is. My son said he was really surprised at how mean Ms. Billy was treating him - he genuinely didn't know he was doing anything wrong, She did sound agitated when she was complaining to me about my son. I know my son - he's not a bad kid and he's super kind. I'm not just saying that because he's my son. He truly is. I'm the type of person that takes criticism well and I'm happy to help correct behavior when necessary. In this case, I really feel that Ms. Billy is not spending enough time with struggling students - in my sons case not understanding instructions according to her. I didn't appreciate her putting my son down in front of both my husband and I. Ms. Billy made it sound as if my son was being defiant - I can assure you my son is not defiant - he genuinely is just having a hard time with the project! He's asking for help from his teacher in his own 8 year old way. He just turned 8 by the way. Mrs. Elizabeth in the front is amazing on the other hand! Very helpful and kind lady.

Ours has the looks and talent and got a callback after being with her. Wendy may not have a fancy degree like some others but she's a born salesperson and will win you and your child over.

Save your money! Last quarter I signed my son for the classes and since we are in the pandemic, I…read moreunderstood for the beginning that everything was going to be recorded, with the slightly possibility that they will have a live presentation before Christmas, which didn't happened. The classes were expensive $690 (including workshop materials) - for art of acting and $790 (including workshop materials) - for musical theatre. We chose the musical theatre, since my son loves musicals and we wanted to give it a try. From my son perspective, he enjoy the classes and had a great time; although he felt there was too much free time doing nothing. Classes were offered on sat from 8:30am-12:30pm. I asked my son to be open minded and give it a try. By the 5th class, I asked my son if they were using any props or workshop materials and he said no. Then I thought, ok maybe at the end they will provide the workshop materials or scenography or costumes. But the day of the presentation came, nothing was provided to the kids. The worst part is that my son was out of the camera vision (even though he said he was in the point he was instructed) and we ended up seeing nothing on the video link they sent us. It is the worst money spent. We try to spoke with the teacher twice and requested at least the 50% refund, since she did not provided what was promised to us. We had never been in this situation before. We love our community and our area. We like the teacher and understand the pandemic situation. However, that doesn't give her the right to keep the money for a job not well done. Specially if she noticed and email us replying that she wouldn't like to redo the whole thing only for one kid, but didn't offer any other solution and when we requested the money back, she just ignored us. Not professional, not nice to act like that. We of course wont be back and next time we will carefully check reviews of other places before we signed my son for this classes.
