It feels very steep and could be easy for someone to slip or fall, especially when navigating the stairs and walkway. There's also always this smell up at the top. there's no good circulation in the whole area which if you have respiratory problems, I would not recommend this place. It's usually stuffy and has an odd smell. I Wish they had air purifiers throughout the whole location.

You purchase your ticket ahead of time - though maybe you can get one when you show up. They do have free parking and it was easy enough to find a space. We walked around the Chinese and Japanese gardens mostly, and they were really lovely. It's kind of amazing just how much space there is, how much it is kept up. There are lovely paths everywhere. It was a little hot when I visited, so I probably would have wandered longer if I wasn't as hot. It does look like they have a shuttle now to get people around, and and also more accessible access for people with mobility issues.

You can see the motivation of the students, motivation driven by a far more motivated owner/instructor - Emily. I had a front row seat, far right. Not an ideal seat for a show, but I was uniquely positioned because I could see behind the curtain. I could see Emily. Most of the time she had her typical serious demeanor. But every once in a while, I'd see a smile. It wasn't for anyone. No one was looking at her, the girls were performing. But in that moment, I could see her joy, her dedication, her passion. What a beautiful smile. And what joy she's given our daughters - and certainly to many others. I'd post a picture, but "NO PICTURES ALLOWED!"... so I don't have any. Highly recommended. Not just for the instruction, but equally for the love of the art.

You can watch the students dance from a tv in the waiting lobby. The staff is friendly and they provide you the costumes for each performance. The only thing that kind of bothers me is the very long flight of stairs that you need to walk to get to the studio but it just means I get to actually get some exercise in! lol

During weeknights, many of them have a cigarette across the street during their rehearsal breaks. When they're done, they'll jaywalk back across the street even though the crosswalk is only ten yards away. So, if they don't expire by lung cancer or heart attack (apparently the crosswalk is too far for them to walk), they'll surely be hit by a car. It is a poorly lit intersection, and when cars are coming from the other direction with their lights on, the jaywalkers easily get lost in the glare and shadows. Honking and flashing your high beams do no good, because these people firmly believe that making ugly faces or flipping the middle finger will prevent them from being run over. So, if you wish to see them on stage, I'd recommend getting your tickets sooner than later, because many of the actors are not long for this earth.

Rosenbaum, Physicist. "The orange light was fleeting" as I made my way for the eight o'clock lecture by Dr. Don Pettit being held in a building that looked like "Braut Kuchen mit Mozartkugeln" German for: Bride cake with chocolate covered marzipan balls (an Austrian specialty). He stressed the varied ways one may view a "Space Photo" and showed us live examples of how linear thinking does not always apply. In space "Off the Planet" and "far out of the box" thinking as "no answers at the back of the book" and problems must be solved in real time. Dr. Don Pettit kept interest for over an hour on his adventures in space. Delightful! Funded by Keck Institute for Space Studies (KISS). When I was 12 years old, I received a flyer in the mail for a play at Theatre 360. I spent weeks…read morememorizing a monologue and took a bus all the way to Pasadena for the audition. A few seconds into my audition, one of the judges interrupted me to say I couldn't participate in the play unless I was also enrolled in two of their paid classes. I explained that I was just hoping for the chance to audition, and my parents couldn't afford the additional classes. One of the judges reacted kindly and started to explain the process to me, but another judge cut her off with a cold, curt "Thank you, that will be all," and kicked me out of the room. Kids hear no all the time, but there was something so callous about her tone that it stayed with me after all these years. I'm in my 30s now, and this memory came rushing back when I found Theatre 360 flyers in my parents' mailbox. Looking back, I realize they had created a pay-to-play setup presented as open auditions for children. It takes a lot of courage for a kid to memorize a monologue, figure out public transportation, and perform in front of strangers. To cut a child off mid-audition and dismiss them so coldly showed a lack of empathy from the adults in charge. If this is how they handled kids who were simply not aware of their prerequisites, I'd question management's motives and how much they actually care about the kids here.
