Dr Elisa Yoo
Jess J.

Dr Yoo is top notch! I came as a new patient and was seen first by her PA Renee. Renee was fantastic and answered all my questions. I then meet Dr Yoo, who did a full body scan and confirmed everything Renee had said. I had a few spots that they were a little concerned about and Dr Yoo and Renee were kind enough to give me all my options as to what the best treatment should be. I decided to " Keep an eye" on two of the spots so the nurse took a few photos for reference, but one I decided to biopsy. I scheduled an appointment with the nurse in the room so that the office could check my benefits. ( an awesome thing to do since I have a high deductible!! ) I was called a few days before my appointment and told what would be pre-collected at the appointment and was also given options for financing or to store a credit card. I really like that the office took the time to check my insurance info prior to doing the biopsy so I wasn't hit with a huge bill later! The biopsy was very easy and every aspect of the procedure was explained to me prior to anything being done which put my fears at ease! One week later, Renee called me personally to give me my results and thankfully it was benign! Every person I had the pleasure of talking to in Dr Yoo's office was so kind and friendly. I never felt rushed or like my questions, and there were A LOT, were a burden to them. I would definitely recommend Dr Yoo and Renee to any of my family or friends!

I had a basal cell carcinoma on my ankle surgically removed, and stitches to close the wound by Dr. Yoo. Two weeks later, I returned to have the stitches removed. That day's medical assistant (they apparently cycle them in and out a lot) had trouble removing them all, so she called for help from the Nurse Practitioner (or perhaps she is a P-A,) The medical assistant-of-the-day said I didn't need a follow-up appointment. Three weeks go by, then four, and I observe the wound isn't healing. I'm thinking I see about 1/4 inch of stitching protruding, the wound isn't completely closed, my ankle is swelling, and there is a large circle of red, inflamed skin the size of a silver dollar. The office will not let me come in without going through the process of getting yet another referral, so I went to urgent care. Two hours wait, but sure enough the doctor pulled out one and a half inches of thread. The skin is irritated now by constant application of antibiotic ointment, so he gives me a new antibiotic Rx and a cream. Over all, I have found the staff of this practice to be more concerned about insurance or self-pay than about genuine patient concern.

Ew, maybe the other row of chairs...

Dr. Yoo is mediocre and not diligent, although I thought her staff was ok.

The physician assistant was ok but Dr. Elisa Yoo was always in a hurry. I didn't even see her wash her hands before touching me

I think honestly it's a front of house problem or the Dr's talk to much. Whatever it is, if you have a life outside of your appointment make sure to reschedule it all and keep your whole day open just for a dermatologist appointment I only come back because I'm on accutane and need to finish out my session and then I will NEVER come back. Also the front of staff is SUPER RUDE, ALL THE TIME, they don't smile at you and they talk to the older patients like they're dumb.

The doctor looked at some of the lipomas I have and said sorry those are too big and can't remove them, knowing that I have other small ones that need removal as well. So instead of the doctor recommending that he can help me remove the small ones at least, he just said sorry you can go to a surgeon and get them all removed. So the whole appointment lasted 5-10 mins I went to the office and didn't even get the service or part of the service I needed, yet a month later they send me a bill for my visit and they also billed my insurance on top of that. Very disappointing and unprofessional. Not recommended.

Erik Sorenson is the best. I'm not entirely sure what his licensing or degrees are - whether he's an MD or not. I'm sure if I looked at his nametag better I could figure it out, but I've never bothered. Maybe I'm too distracted by his boyish good looks to care about the couple of letters following his name. He is knowledgable, honest, and kind. You could probably have these really ugly but medically fascinating boils and warts all over your face and body and he'd still look you straight in the eye, calmly shake your hand, smile reassuringly, and listen patiently to your every word. He doesn't look at you like you're a medical case. He looks at you like a human being, and his concern for whatever ails you seems entirely genuine. He never interrupts, he answers questions, and he goes out of his way to do whatever it is he can do to help. Thank you, Eric Sorenson. In the world of dermatologists, most of whom are as flaky as my skin, you're my hero.

Striving for good health in 2015, found myself seeking help from a dermatologist to remove . . . a…read moredark and juicy, ever growing MOLE . . . it lurked smack dab in the middle of my forehead. Yikes! One night I went to bed smooth skinned. Washed my face. Checked the mirror and there IT was - the biggest, ugliest MOLE starring back at me. Did it blink? Yikes! Of course I tried picking it. Didn't budge. Tried covering it with bangs. Yet everytime I reapplied lipstick it peeked at me through the parted mane. There. See. It winked. Without haste, I got a referral from my GP, who sent me to Dr. Nichols. As a new patient, of course, I checked Yelp first. Hmmm. Some good. Some not so good reviews. I had to trust my GP and hope for the best. To my delight, the waiting room was full, with seats available. The chipper young woman manning the front desk asked for my ID, then handed over paperwork to fill out. One page. They didn't need my entire medical history dating back to childbirth. YAH! By the time I completed the form a cheerful Scott led me to a very neatly appointed exam room. In the corner sat a display case filled with a Christmas scene. Sweet. Scott asked a few questions, then told me the doctor would be right in. Sure enough, within minutes, Dr. Nichols walked in looking as jolly as Ol' Saint Nick (get it, Nichols . . . Nick). LOL. Clean shaven, he must have recently cut off his beard to enjoy Spring and Summer unfettered. LOL. His eyes twinkled as he asked why I'd come. 'Tout suite,' he zapped that pesky intruder, and I was on my way. The procedure was so painless, quick and easy I'm keeping Dr. Nichols' number handy in case more moles show up.

I get to the office and was told that I would need to pay everything in full. After some prying with the female receptionists they agreed I could pay my copay for the price of the office visit but would need to pay for all additional costs since my deductible was not met. I didn't think this was fair or correct because they are a preferred provider of my Blue Shield PPO plan and contractually the rates would be lower after billing the insurance. They told me I would have to pay the full amount and get sent a check if there was a difference in price. I called Blue Shield directly and was told that this is NOT standard practice because Blue Shield does all of the billing for the PPO plans and sends the patient the amount owed and explanation of benefits AFTER being seen. Long story short, this place is a scam, do not go there!!!
