Gorgeous winery cafe - we shared a ploughman's lunch, Moroccan lamb pot pie, slow cooked pork sliders, fries and the special of duck and mushroom ravioli - and it was all just lovely. Special mention to excellent fries and some great desserts.
There is a cellar door with some nice local wines, and they also make their own cider - apple, lychee/apple and lychee, all of which is delicious (the lychee is unusual and very refreshing - definitely stock up!). They also stock a local beer.
Excellent value too - all mains below $20 and drinks at cellar door prices. Service was extremely friendly and the staff are very knowledgeable about the wines and the local area.
My new stop on every Sydney-Canberra drive - why would you go to McDonalds when you could be sitting in the sun, overlooking the vineyard, eating such gorgeous local food??
(PS - Eling Forest is just off the Hume Highway, on the left if you're coming from Sydney, and is signposted - our GPS did get confused though!) read more
