Blackwood Pantry Cronulla has long been one of those Insta worthy cafes that not only looks good,…read morebut tastes it too. The cafe can be found on a side street, Surf Ln laneway and you be dining with relaxed beach goers, families doing brunch and those with their pooch companions. There's plenty of seating there for small and larger groups. The venue is bright and open and you'll feel comfortable. The menu is certainly broad and you'll find your favourites like a bacon and egg roll, but also plenty of unique dishes too. We loved the truffled chilli scrambled eggs, served on toasted sourdough with mushy peas, lemon whipped goats cheese, cucumber, mint, crispy shallots & truffled chilli sauce. A really decent sized serving too. For the Avo on toast dish, we opted for the gluten free bread w/ zaatar, lemon olive oil, Meredith goats cheese, pickled beetroot & fresh mint. Another great dish was green goddess salad made with cos lettuce, smashed pea hummus, whipped goat cheese, green capsicum, olives, cucumber, sprouted beans & lentils, fresh basil, toasted pumpkin seeds & za'atar and the green goddess dressing. I wanted some protein and the waitress recommended I add the Sarah's Day skewers as they're nicely marinated. Good suggestion, for my already great salad had that extra flavour burst. For drinks, there's beers, wine, cocktails, smoothies and of course coffee. We enjoyed our experience and look forward to trying the Bondi store too.

Create your own salads and get exactly what you want!…read more I've walked by this place several times and had been meaning to go in. Had been eating crappy food lately and needed a nice salad to make myself feel healthy again. Came here with my coworker for lunch. I went in the line and the girl asked if it was my first time, was it that obvious? It's cause you have to grab a salad box in the beginning and then you can either get one of their already made salads or create your own. I accidentally grabbed the large box (would have been fine with the medium) and added my toppings - you are allowed 7 - marinate tofu (50 cents extra), mushroom, chick peas, cucumber, beetroot, tomatoes and broccoli - there was so much to choose from! She asked if I wanted chicken and I thought the tofu was enough but they had pesto and tandoori flavored chicken, so I opted for the pesto (2 bucks extra). My salad ended up being $13 but I think I could have got it for about 9 and been full. Also comes with some brown bread. Good place, fresh ingredients, will come back.

So we succumb to that chicken schnitzel sandwich or creamy pasta from the foodcourt. High in carbs and fat. Diet truly starts tomorrow. Well there is now a healthy takeaway option via Saladworks. You get to choose everything from the type of salad leaves, to the ingredients. Add chicken or meat and you end up having a high protein, low fat, low carb lunch that will truly fill you up. I have the regular size salad and I am stuffed by the time I finish. The protein makes me feel full for a longer time and because you feel pretty chuffed for choosing a healthy option, you are more unlikely to go for that 3pm coffee or chocolate because you feel guilty! ;) There are 2 branches that I know of, one on Hunter St and the other in the food court area in the Suncorp Building next to Fitness First Platinum George St. So start your diet today not tomorrow by choosing a healthy lunch-time option through Saladworks!

Depending on what type of plate you get determines how many choices you can have. I wanted a light lunch so got a small plate and chose 3 different types of food. Seriously it's true, they say so themselves. All things aside, they cater to the vegan, lactose free, gluten free... free free free.. Well no, it's still going to cost you, but it covers all the strict dietary requirement people well & not a home made knitted cardigan in sight. There are plenty of yummy offerings on their menu & in their window of salads & hot food. I had a 5 option mixed plate, & chose 5 for $15, choosing two salads, & three hots. I had a pumpkin salad which was tasty, a beetroot & walnut salad, which was lacking something... but still lovely & fresh, the mint dressing I opted for gave it a bit of a lift, which it needed. The hot food I chose was a red curry tofu, which was very tasty, a lentil dish, yum yum, & chickpea & cabbage kofta with fragrant tomato sauce. They were very tasty & I could have eaten a whole plate full. They are open from 7am, & serve from a breakfast menu as well. I had lunch there & there's plenty on offer, from soups & sandwiches, to the salads & hot food in their counter window. There are cakes, biscuits, & all sorts of sweet treats, to have with their coffee & chai, which is homemade. I'm quite sure they know how to milk an almond at Heart & Soul, & it is a lovely cafe atmosphere with plenty of seating, & an extensive menu that caters well to those with strict eating regime's & dietary needs. It's not your place if you have a hankering for a dirty big egg & bacon roll with barbecue sauce, but it is your place to try some great, fresh produce well prepared with thought & care. I'll be back next time to try something sweet & a coffee.
