Whilst down in the Southern Highlands, we dined at Onesta Cucina. The family owned and operated fully restaurant is large, and chatter of the guests made it feel very homely. We visited with my family and small baby, and we found it a welcoming place. The food is wonderful, high quality Italian food with a good range of options from pasta to slow cooked meats and more. We tried a steak, the confit duck, pork belly and a pasta. The food was all presented beautifully too. We loved it! Can we recommend ordering a side of the delicious peas with pancetta and polenta fries. Service was exceptional and food was served in a timely fashion. read more

Good, simple food done well. Absolutely terrific staff, friendly and efficient. Mal had the baby calamari, and it was exactly as it should be. Light and perfectly cooked. I was slightly envious that i had not ordered it myself. I had, instead, ordered the crumbed lambs brains, and they were very nice indeed. Probably a little too much crumb for my liking, but delicious, with a good amount of herbs in the crumb. We could not manage a main, so went straight to dessert. Mal had their Eaton Mess, which was lovely. I had Tarte Tatin, which was very sweet, and frankly, one would do two people. The pastry was flaky and light, the pears soft. Had they been open on Sunday Nights, we would have returned. read more

Ambience is just perfect for this Italian restaurant in Bowral. Service is better than we ever expected. Difficult to make a decision. We had zucchini flowers, my favourite which did not disappoint. The standout were the brains. Mains were the chicken breast with prosciutto, tender and moist, the beef cheeks and osso bucco. We demolished them all. Save room for dessert. There is a toss up between chocolate fondant and pear tart. Yum. And a good wine list not sticking to the cliched genres or regions. This restaurant rocks. read more

Great restaurant, highly recommend. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Nice and warm too. The garlic prawns were my favourite, but everything we had we loved. It would be a good idea to book for a Saturday night. read more

Always consistent although the menu doesn't change very much. Not the cheapest and the service is slow but the food never lets you down and for that reason I keep going back. read more

Dined here this week with three others. Food was below par to the point where some dishes were inedible to some in our group. Have eaten here before and food was good but for the price of the meals here it was extremely disappointing. Do not have the duck and especially do not have porchetta main or the polenta chips (tasted of dirty oil) only giving the star as the waitress Georgia was really nice. Fairly hit and miss at Onesta Cucina. They try really hard and some of the food was cracking (can't complain with fresh pasta, that is actually fresh and polenta chips) but the rest falls down a fair bit. The fit out is very busy and the service although friendly seemed stressed and rushed all night. I always get worried when staff have to write dockets at the table, double up as their own drinks server and waiter and use the famous blue Bombay Sapphire bottle for water. Extremely expensive for the offering too. read more
