Luckily, the Nye Library is there to help. When first checking into a new base, I generally head straight for the library. My ID card allows me time to sit at the computer and send out regular updates, and a book is always a welcome addition in my satchel, especially as we wait in one office after another. One of the best things about the DoD library system is that all of the catalogues are searchable, all are online for you to browse at home, and the Inter Library Loan system is worldwide!

My son loves loves loves books and we haven't even scratched the surface of the children's selection, even after numerous checkouts. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and there to help out when needed. I love reading animal books and their selection isn't extensive as the LPL. Sometimes if needing to use the computer, it can be full when some of the soldiers need to do some online training, but that's usually during lunchtime or right afterwards. But it is always clean and quiet. I can always find a book to pick up and usually have no wait to get on a computer.

Chairs and tables all over to use at will. Several rsvp'able rooms for super quiet and focused time with large tables and seating. The accommodations range from few to many in these rooms Parking galore, and the exterior is a pretty sight. A nice sidewalk around the building if you want to stretch in the middle of your studies, and the interior is large and spacious for indoor stretching if it's 110 outside There is a teen corner that is kind of it's own room, and then there is a larger kids area that is more closed off with slim entries. This does a great job keeping the expected increased noise level of children quelled across the building. Other libraries suffer from this lack of design, so this is a great accommodation for the kids while being mindful of all others in the general space I wish they kept the carpeted ceilings tho lol

Of course I live here, it's 7:30 on a Wednesday night in Wichita Falls, do you think I'm passing through town to steal a $7.00 book when I can check a book out for free in any city in the United States? Or maybe the bustling mid-week night life this city has to offer is what brought me to town, right?
