Luckily, the Nye Library is there to help. When first checking into a new base, I generally head straight for the library. My ID card allows me time to sit at the computer and send out regular updates, and a book is always a welcome addition in my satchel, especially as we wait in one office after another. One of the best things about the DoD library system is that all of the catalogues are searchable, all are online for you to browse at home, and the Inter Library Loan system is worldwide!

My son loves loves loves books and we haven't even scratched the surface of the children's selection, even after numerous checkouts. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and there to help out when needed. I love reading animal books and their selection isn't extensive as the LPL. Sometimes if needing to use the computer, it can be full when some of the soldiers need to do some online training, but that's usually during lunchtime or right afterwards. But it is always clean and quiet. I can always find a book to pick up and usually have no wait to get on a computer.

There have been many instances in which I have overheard conversations within the Veterans Affairs office and/or the Academic Advisors office in which students were spoken down to, especially veterans. Parking on Cameron is also far, few, and in-between. There seems to be more students and faculty than there are parking spaces. Your only hope of obtaining one would be to schedule yourself for an early morning class, or just arrive very early and sit and wait for a space. One upside would be the availability and cleanliness of the library. At any given time until approximately 11p, you're able to occupy the library for any reason; study sessions, reading, homework, printing, etc. Several of the buildings are being remodeled currently however updating functionality of the classroom seems to be last on the schools priority list. Burch Hall (Math facility) has extremely small desks in many of the classes which make it difficult to have your book open and take notes simultaneously. An update is very much needed and Cameron should take notes from other Universities across country.

Of course I live here, it's 7:30 on a Wednesday night in Wichita Falls, do you think I'm passing through town to steal a $7.00 book when I can check a book out for free in any city in the United States? Or maybe the bustling mid-week night life this city has to offer is what brought me to town, right? But it can definitely be a pain to get your library card. Have to bring in your water bill or something and they take their time. If you know somebody who has access to the SWOSU library, I'd suggest you go there instead. Much, much bigger selection. But overall not a bad library. You can do an interlibrary loan, and they also have a not too bad selection of videos you can check out.
