I bought a car at Milo Honda. Shopped at Winn Dixie. Got drunk with the guys at various stripclubs. Then someone invited me to join a prayer group on Post. Got to meet great people and eat free pizza. Got invited to have Thanksgiving meal at a church. Nice time before shipping out to Germany in 1986. FAOBC Class 1-84, "Steel on Target Sir!"

Due to lack of service, my wife asked if I could post this review on her behalf…read more "Currently staying at Fort Sill for an extended all-inclusive retreat. One star. There are absolutely no comfortable chairs anywhere. I have now sat on concrete, dirt, bleachers, floors, and several objects that I'm fairly certain were specifically engineered to make an ass hurt. The staff is also extremely loud and keeps scheduling group activities before sunrise. Apparently "sleeping in" is not one of the amenities. The other guests are the real problem, though. Everyone keeps farting. Constantly. Every formation smells like 60 people simultaneously lost a fight with a gas-station breakfast burrito. You'll just be standing there at parade rest when a warm Oklahoma breeze carries somebody's internal demons directly through the formation. Nobody admits to it. Nobody apologizes. We simply stand together in silence and breathe through adversity. I have several weeks remaining in my stay and will update this review if I survive."

We all know Texas is a big state. That's one reason I've never been to Wichita Falls Texas…read more Not that it's a great distance from Dallas. Only a 21/2 hour drive. However, it sits in a strange geographic area in the north central part of the state just over the Oklahoma border. Its not in a place that you ever have to pass through on your way to another part of Texas. Ever. As a result, even though I'm native Texan,I've never visited. I changed all that with a trip in search of long forgotten relatives. As always, when exploring new territory there are pleasant surprises. The lady that owns the world's tiniest sky scrapper filled me in on some important history of the area making a lot of things clear. Plus,I found a great burger spot. Wichita Falls is one of the last cities in Texas of its size stuck in the past. It truely feels like going back in time 40 years

Wichita Falls "the gateway to Texas" is a really cool little ol' Texas Cowboy cattle & oil town…read morewith some really cool Texas Rodeos, yeehaw! It is also a filthy rich little Texas Cowboy oil town. Most business men "cowboys" that live here or have lived here own their own little planes and usually fly to Dallas etc., for meetings. My father used to live here. It's quite a trek by car to Dallas or OKC. So, most just fly. It's also the home of Sheppard Air Force Base. Home to Sheppard's Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training program. This international flavored program is utilized by seventeen different NATO countries for the finest fighter pilot training in the world. It's a cute little Texas Cowboy town and, yes it does have a waterfall & water park. The City also has a fabulous twenty-mile-long trail system that winds through all the little Texas country neighborhoods, along little streams & pretty little lakes for use by anyone who wants to exercise, bicycle, or rollerblade etc., With an additional park system featuring 39 parks all within the city limits. And, there is more mountains, parks and lakes nearby to explore. A nature lovers dream. The legend is, that the land of Wichita Falls was won in a poker game by John A. Scott of Mississippi in 1837. Much later on, Scott's heirs discovered the lost certificates, and commissioned M. W. Seeley to map out a townsite on the Wichita River tract. Then, in July 1876, the townsite, as platted by M. W. Seeley, the original land, had a small waterfall on the local Wichita River, that was later washed away. Before the land was "won" in a poker game it was the Choctaw Native Americans. They settled this area in the early 1800s from their native Mississippi area. It was the Americans that negotiated the relocation of them, after the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek. That treaty was signed in 1830-1831. Then later, in the 1860's the American settlers arrived, mainly as cattle ranchers AKA, Texas Cowboys! And God bless 'em. We LOVE our Texas cowboys! yeehaw! :)) The city was named Wichita Falls on September 27, 1876, for the local Wichita River. There was a waterfall in the river's course in 1876. However, years later in 1886, a flood destroyed the original waterfall. After nearly 100 years the city built an artificial waterfall beside the river, in Lucy Park. They just sorta recreated the original water falls. They are 54 ft high and recirculate at 3,500 gallons per minute. They are visible to south-bound traffic on Interstate 44. A great little Filthy rich Cowboy town to visit with excellent mexican food. God Bless Texas! Recommend.

Being from out of state, the process to get an OK ID is a little complicated in comparison. I went…read moreonline to do as much research as I could to figure out what I needed and what time to arrive. I read through all these Yelp reviews as well. It's easy to complain of course when things don't go your way or if you don't come prepared. I showed up at 7:10 am. They open at 8 am. I went early cause of what I read and I'm glad I did. They separate you into lines of test takers and those who are not. After they do that, they send those home from the test taker side that they can't get to for today (they took 10). Then the other line, they give you a ticket number and explain to come back after the 3rd text. My 3rd text came at like 8:40 so not too long at all. Now to do the eye test and get the paper I need for the Tag Agency. The people working here were straightforward and explained the process well. The reason why it's 3 star for me is simply just the building itself. But overall, if you're prepared - you shouldn't run into any issues. I was expecting the worst and will be out of here way sooner than I anticipated. Hopefully this will help anyone else from out of state trying to get their OK ID! Edit - so I ended up having to wait until about 11. But that being said, I was able to knock out everything I needed. The staff were very kind and helpful to me and those around me.

We wait the entire time, and once we're told it's our turn, we're told that they're done taking tests for the day and that today has been an "off day" for them and their system couldn't update to cancel us. Don't even bother, just go anywhere else.
