You've experienced the efficiency of airport currency exchanges? Well, this isn't that. Awful customer service. I was given mostly evasive non-answers or brush off comments. Apparently, a simple 'yes' or 'no' answer was simply IMPOSSIBLE regarding whether a particular currency can be exchanged for USD. It's a very simple question. And, oh yeah: They HUNG UP on me during my phone call. The woman insisted that they had to make a xerox photocopy of each denomination of the bills to provide to their mysterious 'broker' (unnamed, and unavailable to speak with, even during his stated hours at their shop: 9:00-4:30, M-F). I never saw or heard of something like this in all my prior currency exchanges. She said their fee for doing a currency exchange was 5%-7% of the total amount (really? Not even ridiculously overpriced airport areas are this absurd). Give me a break. Stubbornly unhelpful, both in person and via phone. A repeated theme: 'You have to bring in' the money first. (WHY?) Just please ANSWER a SIMPLE QUESTION. On the phone: "I can't talk about this over the phone." (?) Well, she was asked the same question in person beforehand by my friend, with the same evasive non-answer. It shouldn't be so difficult to get a straight answer. [Her response to my polite incredulity: "That's our process."] Well, Kafka would have more to write about with this "process."
