As part of our Friday pizza night tradition, my wife and I just had to experience the hype around Feral Pizza (review coming soon). For those that follow Feral's instagram, they frequently mention the convenience of grabbing drinks from Duval Market while dining at their truck. While their truck is in the lot next to Duval Market, they might want to distance themself. Duval Market's beer selection was...meh. And since we were eating next door, I just assumed we would be able to use the restroom at the market, but you know what they say about assumptions, right? The restroom was a no-go and when I asked if there was a place nearby to use the restroom since we were eating at the picnic tables for Feral, the guy just reiterated that I could not use THEIR restroom, which I get...fine. So, I asked again if there was a place nearby that food truck customers could go and he just said the same. Back to the matter at hand, the beers we did select were not as cold as they should be and the place was not the cleanest. When we visit Feral in the future, we will bring our own stuff from home or another market.

If you live in the square enclosed by William Cannon, Stassney, South 1st, and Congress - this should be your neighborhood quick-mart. One day, I went to pick up a 6-pack of Negra Modelo for a small gathering at my house. In line in front of me were two men, each carrying their respective beer of choice: one had an Olde English 40 oz, the other had a 6-pack of Bud Lite. All I'll say is that I am Mexican, and the three of us were quite the portrait of ethnic stereotypes. I'll leave it at that. Another night, I'd gone with my boyfriend to pick up some wine for another gathering at our house. On our way to the cash register, this man stormed up to the owner with a stack of photocopies, demanding his money back. The owner explained that he must pay for all his copies. The angry customer argued that he would not pay for defective copies and ranted that the copying machine should be fixed. When the owner would not give him a full refund, but only a refund for the defective copies, the man grabbed the receiver off the phone hanging by the front door and threw it so hard, a little piece of plastic hit my head. Then they went back and forth several rounds with very ridiculous expletives involving each other's mothers and sisters. I'll deduct one star for violence.
