I had…read moreasked her to please put ten zeros in the field for the phone number if it was critical to put my phone number in, and that was it. She then gave me a very dirty look and said she felt put out because I showed up right before her class and just wanted to put this information in. However, this studio also has a sign in front that says they do not open until exactly ten minutes ahead of when class begins. I showed up 5 minutes before the class begun due to the sign they had in front. I guess this yoga instructor simply has a grievance with a polite "no." I decided to go to another yoga studio since I am very unoccastomed to people acting this put out by my simply politely declining to give out my marketing information. Once she was spinning on her hoop and orbited into mine so hard, she smacked my hoop and startled me. Had she hit a body part I would've been severely injured. I've also witnessed her tell a student she was going to spot them and she blatantly didn't because she wasn't paying attention. The student fell and was upset, and Amanda took no accountability. This teacher should not be employed here. I've taken from other instructors at Shine and they are far more invested in their students success and safety.

Crash academy was both and it was a really really good work out. Tracie is a gem. She is sweet and encouraging and a very good instructor. I took the beginners level one pole fitness class, as I've never even attempted this before. Tracie made me feel comfortable right away, and eased me into moves I found difficult, but doable. It was dip fun that before I knew it I was sweating up a storm and had a few new pole tricks up my sleeve. This class was a deliberately slow, deeply intentional practice where poses were often held for 40 seconds or longer. The longer we stayed, the more awareness was required. Amelia reminded us that we always have a choice: our attention. our breath. Alignment was a constant throughout class. Amelia moved through the room offering thoughtful adjustments, helping me refine several postures. One moment especially surprised me. In Center Splits, she guided our upper body into Puppy Pose, then invited us through a breath and body-awareness exercise before cueing us to lift our ankles from the floor. The studio is small and clean (only 4 students per class). I was the only dude in all the sessions. I worked with 3 different instructors (Maria,Monica, and Jen). All very knowledgeable and professional. They focus a lot on toning legs and butts. Its definitely a lot harder than it looks. Overall, the classes helped me increase my flexibility, strengthen my inner thighs, and tighten my butt. Keep up the good work, Body in Mind!

I initially thought we would be using the reformers but it turned out to be an intimate mat style Pilates class given my Nina. She started off telling us about the benefits of Pilates and how she got involved in it. She refers to her class as Bootylates and she is a walking advertisement that it works! I currently take Hot Pilates at another studio so I was familiar with most of the exercises we performed. What differed about this class is being that it is not in a hot room I really felt I could concentrate more on the actual exercise, my form and my breathing more so then I do in a Hot room where I know those things get compromised as fatigue from the heat sets in. This studio is on the smaller side, Nina had 12 mats set up for us and there were about nine of us in class. The class size max is also a bonus as Nina can check form and correct if needed. Although she didn't use the reformers they are in the studio along with some . And just this week I saw a Groupon for a one on one session for $50 which is quite the deal for this type of instruction. Drop in class rate is $20.
