Keith was so kind and thorough while we were shopping for product. He was very knowledgeable and honest

I've been a customer for over twenty five years. It used to be much better. The customer service line takes an average of 15 minutes to get through. I needed a new debit card and requested one, the man helping me said it would ship the next day. Almost two weeks later and no card. A few more calls got me nowhere, Every time I got a different answer. The last women I talked to would not stop inteupting me. There are plenty of credit unions around I would choose another. read more

Terrible customer service. They made me send them $5 to open an account, denied me a loan, put me on hold multiple times OR didn't return my calls as promised, and then told me I need to go to my bank to have them dispute the $5 because, as a financial institution, they have no way of refunding me my money. Go somewhere else, wish I did. read more

If you're a small business and you're looking for a financial institution, that's going to do their best to bankrupt you $31.00 at a time then Elevations credit union is for you. You try to stop a schedule payment it's gonna cost you $31.00 if that scheduled payment comes in and doesn't clear it's gonna cost you $31.00 They must have one hell of a Christmas party when they take all the funds that they have confiscated from people, and throw their annual soirée. Unbelievably confiscatory policies, God forbid you were to ask them for a loan they would take your first born. Any bank in Boulder County would be better than this place. read more

I've been a member at Elevations for 15+ years and they are wonderful to work with. Their branches, tellers, bankers, customer service team are helpful and polite. Their website and app are great and make it easy to do business with them. We've had the full line of their products and have never had an issue. Refreshing to work with a great bank! Just wish you all had branches south of Broomfield! read more

If you are looking for a bank with great customer service, well keep looking! We are trying to pay our mortgage which we do on time every month. This month Elevations changed their website without telling anyone. Previously I was able to login to the Elevation website and pay my mortgage directly from an Elevations savings/checking account. Now without notice, you have to enter your routing and account # (13 numbers) even though the mortgage and funding account is with the same bank! I struggled thru the payment of my mortgage and received a confirmation on 8/1. I called because the difficulty but their web support was not aware and could not help. I checked today and the payment did not clear. I called and was told apparently there was a problem with the payment. No notifications were sent that there was a problem. I keep calling today asking to talk to a manager thinking they would be concerned there were problems with their website. Sadly no one seems concerned and they kept sending me to their loan servicer who apparently has nothing to do with the website. Needless to say we are frustrated! I'm thinking the best solution is to pull our money from Elevations and make our payments from a competent and professional financial institution. read more

My vehicle was totaled in early February. The vehicle was released shortly after and a payoff check was issued. I called Elevations several times to explain the payoff was on the way. The insurance company sent the check to the wrong place. I was told specifically by Elevations to makeva payment on the 28th day if it didn't clear. I followed the instructions and still was hit with a late charge. The payoff was received within a day or two after I made a personal payment which was refunded to my account. I provided a letter from my insurance stating the accident and provided times I called Elevations. Everything was recorded but yet they won't acknowledge they provided wrong information. I am so upset by the wrong information that put me in a very bad spot. I would stay away from doing business with them and I'm looking into a refi under a different lender. I also will NOT use them for the new car I need to purchase this summer. They don't care if they hurt customers. read more

I am a member of Elevations Credit Union and have been for over 25 years when it was CU Credit Union. I bank at the Boulder Baseline branch. I was concerned about the upcoming digital change and how that would affect me. I spoke with Luca Pomerleau who quickly checked my account and established I would not be affected by the change in any way. He was very knowledgeable, professional and easy to work with. Elevations Credit Union and its customers are lucky to have a banker like Luca on board. Thank you, Luca! You put my mind at rest! Angie Burnham read more

We have been members of Elevations for years and have been quite happy. I love many things about the Credit Union. I do want to make public a very frustrating experience we have just had, as it was a colossal waste of time. We were excited to use the Financial Wellness Tools that Elevations had online, only to find out after inputting data for the last several months and categorizing the data for the entire year, that when we went to look at the calendar year in review, January of 2023 is no longer available. They only allow you to see 11 months and the beginning of the current month so you never can look over an entire year let alone a calendar year, which is used in budgeting. I wonder who would think something like that is helpful. Elevations said it was what the vendor offered. Disappointing. read more

I am not sure how this company continues to find employees that do not understand the idea of conflict resolution. They continue repeating policies to you. Then lecture you on being rude to their staff. Maybe they should try offering customer services and resolving issues? What a concept. I have had more bad experiences that I can express. Their home mortgage department, Ruben was awful when my tax preparer and I tried to deal with him. Let me add, her background is a loan underwriter. Juan Evans has been wondering and very fast at dealing with issues. Unfortunately, I think he is the only valuable employee this establishment has. I recently had theft on my account. I called the card theft resolution. They informed me a provisional credit would be given. They did not inform me it could take 10 days!!!! I'm in the process of trying to purchase a home and need to show bank account balance. With over $1600 missing, it is an issue. I was transferred back to elevations, there was no trying to remedy the situation, just repeating their policy to me. (Dominick)I also have more than one account there. I asked for a supervisor, Nicole. She did offer to help. Then I gave her feedback on why does someone have to get mad, before any conflict resolution happens? She began to lecture me on how rude I was to Dominick.... When did it become acceptable to lecture the customer who isn't being serviced? This is backwards. I remember the days when we would get an apology when the customer wasn't getting service.... This is poor customer service and I fear it continues to get worse. read more

Horrible. Too busy to open accounts an hour and 45 minutes before they close. After they said they didn't except appointments. Not service centered or committed to the customers. They lost the big account today. read more

I have lost all patience with Elevations. Their call center is a joke. Wait times are always 10 minutes or longer. Today, I have waited for a call back for two hours! My PC is down and I need to make a transfer. To complicate things, visiting a branch is problematic as I have been in contact with someone with covid so I am on voluntarily isolation. Like many businesses these days, they funnel all calls to one number so I can't call my branch directly. I've spoken to a main branch customer service manager within the last 4-5 weeks.......lip service. Member since 1976 in college. Elevations is member owned and member ignored. read more

Incompetent. I'll have to sound in with the same reviews. I have done mortgage business here in the past and something changed. I asked to speak to a manager and never got that callback. Emails saying we didn't know you were still interested in the loan you applied for. Good loans but the service is a challenge. May 2019. That was my original post. I am glad to say that management called me back and we discussed and resolved the issues. I appreciate when a company works on service and accountability. Updated my review 05/20/2019. read more

I do NOT recommend applying for a loan from Elevations. I can't get anyone to answer their phone or reply to an email with a simple status update. I have had nothing but problems with this bank from keeping track of my payments, lack of communication and can never get ahold a the same rep so you end uo on hold and then hung up on they should not be in business. I have been a member for over 30 years and the service has been declining over the past 5 years. I was on hold for over 40 minutes to active my new debit card over the phone with their offsite department, I gave up waiting. I went into the branch on the following day (Saturday) to get my debit card activated and was told the back office staff was not available to assist. I had to have them print me a new credit card since I never received a replacement ( 2 different cards). I was told to sit and wait for 10 minutes. I needed to use my debit card over the weekend and to use a cash machine as I was traveling. Next, the member next to me asked to open an account ( this was 30 min before the branch was to close). He was told he needed to make an appointment on Saturday. I would of thought since he was a member and there was no waiting he would be of been accommodated. As I was waiting in the lobby, there were 2 tellers at 11:50am the 2nd teller starting his closing of the branch, turned off the TV, took the coffee pot and turned off the music. He did not return and went to the back office. There were 6 people in line with only one teller. I finally received my card 15-20 minutes later. I have slowly moved my mortgage loans, accounts to another credit union, this is making me think that my 30 years of membership is not valued after my card experience and seeing the other members have to wait. Gerry, as the CEO of the company bring back the stellar service I received over so many years. read more

Came in to open up a Buff One Banking checking account for my brother. We came in excited to be one step closer to starting his new journey at CU. We should have known there was going to be an issue when they didn't know how to spell Jesus. After waiting we were greeted by Anne. She not only was rude but I'm sure she was put off by our young age. She questioned why i was even there with my brother( i work at bank myself), she questioned my brother on whether or not he was actually going to be student at CU. I've worked in a bank for over 2 years and I have several bank accounts at different institutions and i have never been treated the way i was treated today and i have never treated someone that way at my job. Now we weren't able to open the account due to some "header issue with his acceptance letter" which i understand. But what really left a bitter taste in my mouth was the customer service i received before even opening up the account. I don't know if she was just having a rough day but the treatment we received felt either racially motivated if not ageist against us. She was very rude to me when i had questions about the account and she was very short with my brother. If this credit Union is suppose to follow the ECOA then tell me why i felt so discriminated? I know there are regulation this Credit Union has to follow in partnership with CU Boulder but this didn't feel like those were followed. I just wanted to let this institution know how we felt going in here, that way NO ONE else feels that same way we did and that there is a change we can see in the future. read more

I have had nothing but the worst expirations with this bank. They are very incompetent. Nice people but wow. When setting up direct deposit make sure you don't just put in your account information but ask about the additional number you need too add. It takes several extra days to get your direct deposit once it's setup. They don't tell you a lot of these things. I had several late payments on credit cards because they don't tell you about the extra numbers before your account number and don't include the exact number after. It's been a mess. I would recommend any other credit union for normal experience! read more

This bank forgot how to bank and did not take our money. Most likely a dying business be careful parking your money here.

I'm a member here, but on the most recent occasion when I visited, I was there to take advantage of their shared branching services since my main CU is closed on Saturdays. There wasn't any kind of wait, and the gal who did my transaction was friendly and chatty. I didn't even realize that I was wearing my "Does your bank suck" t-shirt (I had just been at the 24hour Fitness next door). She laughed when I showed her the back that said "Try a Credit Union!" If you're reading this and thinking of joining a credit union, you just need to do it. Yes, the Wells Fargos and Chase Banks of the world have more branches and ATMs, but credit unions pull their resources to be just as convenient. If this super-friendly branch of Elevations doesn't work for you, I'm sure you can find a location that does at www.creditunion.net. read more

Forget banks - really. Use a credit union. They're friendlier, easier to get biz done and you're probably going to get better rates all around. I started with Bellco, left That company, went to Univ. of Colo which turned into Elevations. Always had friendly tellers, phone folks, loan sharks, I mean folks. They've got all the bells and whistles that a bank does with a lot less screwing around. Got a refi, good rates, easy phone access. The more I write about credit unions, the more I hate banks. Throw all those bums out - along with Congress. It IS your money. read more

STUNNING how incompetent this bank is. Sure, they are nice people when you sign up, its a nice location (Boulder branch). To get into the whole logistics of what happened with this bank would be too long to write and would make my blood boil. I've been a member of this credit union for many years, and this location is closest to where I live (they used to be the CU Credit Union). I'm a big fan of credit unions instead of regular banks, especially after all of the financial issues banks have been having lately. And this credit union has never given me any issues. They don't have many locations outside of Boulder, but other credit unions will almost always be able to help you if you're not near an Elevations location. This particular location is in a strip mall so they don't have a drive through, but they have plenty of parking. Everyone is always very nice and efficient. I've used a good portion of the other services they offer, and they offer a lot more than just banking. I recommend them all the time and I'm always thankful that I found them years ago. read more

I work a 9-5 job just like everybody else I don't have time during the week to make it inside of the bank. I do most of my transactions through an ATM after hours. In order to do that I need a debit card. Unfortunately elevations uses subpar plastic or something that is prone to fading or shattering. So I find that I have to replace my elevations debit card more often than any of my other cards. I came in on a Saturday afternoon to get a new debit card. There was an extremely long line. ANNE got to me right away, I I let her know I was just there for a debit card replacement. Her overall demeanor was unpleasant but business like. Anne began asking me about my previous card and what happened. I let her know I would like to keep the same number and I still had the old card it was just broken. ANNE did not like that response, and she insisted that I needed to get a new card number. I I informed her that there is no security issues that I still have the old card and I would prefer to have the convenience of keeping the same card number but I would take what they could give. Through my explanation she interrupted me several times. Her facial expressions were unpleasant to begin with but as the conversation went further she became completely sour. It started to seem like she wanted to find any reason where she could not give me a debit card. She asked about the balance of my savings. I told her I want a debit card for my checking account. Anne rudely interrupted me saying due to my savings account balance, she could not issue me a debit card. I presented checks that I planned on depositing once I got a new debit card. She told me that she would not give me a debit card until I made a deposit. I told her deposits are much easier when I have a debit card and I pointed toward the long line at the teller station. She pointed me back at the line and told me to deposit my checks. Then with another employee who was to complete my deposit before I could get a debit card. I was then told that I could not make the deposit, due to the checks being third-party checks. I tried to let them that I have deposited my wife's paychecks via the ATM with absolutely no issues before. I let them know that this 15 minute window to do my banking on Saturdays is all I get and I need to get a new debit card. I was brought over to another teller and handed her a piece of paper with my account number on it and she began whispering in the teller's ear. I commented that it's rude to whisper about your customers and lied and said that she was whispering my account number so it wouldn't be said across the bank, not sure why she would have to say my account number when it was handed to the teller on a sticky note. ANNE was unbelievably unprofessional. When the other employee that she directed me to found a way to issue me a new debit card WITHOUT forcing me to deposit beforehand ANNE made sure to rush over and put an absolute stop to it. I tried again to explain my situation and my limited access to in branch services. I tried to explain that I was trying to get my rent money but ANNE again rudely interrupted me over and over. It was now 12:00 and the bank was closing and Anne turned her attention away from me I began guarding the door making sure that no other patrons would be able to make a transaction for the day. After banking with you guys for many years I'm appalled to see the kind of actions by Anne. I now have a late fee and I've got to get through the weekend with absolutely no money because of ANNE. ONE CAN ONLY HOPE THAT SHE STUBS HER TOE ON A DAILY BASIS FROM HERE ON OUT. read more

Elevations CU has been my bank for the last 10 years. They trusted me when I had a new credit score with my first loan and credit card. Worst bank experience ever! I just moved here and was looking forward to banking with Elevations based on the great customer reviews and their fees. Also seemed like a reputable bank. Was helped by the older pasty blonde whose desk is the third on the right from the front door. Even before sitting down I felt unwelcomed by her attitude and demeanor. I attempted to set up a checking account which lead to her asking if she can run my credit which I have never experienced with opening a checking or savings account then continued to tell me I was declined and I can not bank with you based on my credit. I asked her how I could fix this and she shrugged her shoulders and continuously repeated to me that I was declined with no further information on how to move forward. My friend Sally was more with more helpful then this bank experience. Oh bonus! She offered water and chocolate to the people she helped before us and I left without an account, water or chocolate. Rude banker and waste of time. Avoid this banker for a possible better experience. read more

The pros: it's a CU so the rates are good. The cons: They are small so don't expect any technology on their website. It's as if you are dealing with a bank from 10yrs ago. Also, almost anything other than a standard transaction requires going to a customer service rep. Most of the time this is ok except when there are people in front of you. Then it may take a long time because they act as if there is no one waiting and have long non-business related conversations with customers. read more

My name is Nick Brown. I have had a account with this bank for at least 3+ years now with my auto loan. I have payed my payment on time if not a head of time for the life of the loan. Now that I want to buy a truck i figured go back to the same bank and apply for a loan. i got a approval letter from them for the amount needed for the truck i was looking at. i called the loan officer and the added in the finance officer at the dealer ship to go over all the stipulations of the loan to make sure every thing is going to go through with out a issue. the both agreed i was good to go. I returned to the dealership finalized paper work and submitted with in one min the dined the application. I called and have talked to 2 different loan officers at the bank and not one of them can tell me why it was dined. But i have received yet another pre approval letter that i can not used for a total of 5 from them pre approving me for the loan needed. this has been going on for over a week now. Most days when i call in to get a update or explanation i don't get a call back and if i do its usually the excuse I'm sorry i just don't understand my self. i have never worked with a bank that has actively tried their hardest to avoid my business. Every time i do get to talk to some one the stipulations on the loan change. i will be paying off the loan as fast as possible that i have with them as of this moment. i will not be returning to this bank again. worst customer service i have ever experienced. read more

Was looking to conduct a simple closure of my HSA at this branch with a "direct transfer" over to my new HSA at another credit union. I wanted to make sure this got done correctly as I have had issues with this credit union before with other "Tax" accounts, and was told in a harsh tone by the banker, Soo Ping, that she "knows what she is doing." Well, she obviously does not. The check was made payable to me - not a direct transfer in which the check should have been payable to the other institution for my benefit - and has thus called several issues. I was told that I needed to sign a new form from them, reclassifying the transaction as a "rollover." Unfortunately, I had already deposited the check into my other credit union, and was left doing lots of work for someone who again, knew what they were doing. Let me make this clear, they screwed up, yet I am left fixing their error - members come first, eh??? Additionally, I had already conducted a rollover for this tax year, which is important because the IRS only allows one per year. So now I am left explaining the error to the IRS to ensure I do not suffer some sort of penalty. To make things worse, I had Soo Ping and another representative with ECU calling me separately and explaining separate courses of action. At no point in either of the calls was there an apology. I even kindly called out Soo Ping on her lack of knowledge in conducting these types of transactions, to which no apology was received again. I do not honestly know what training is present for these individuals, but neither the smug behavior nor the arrogance equates to actual financial knowledge and member support.
