Stayed at a hotel around the corner from this restaurant and ordered some food to go. Went to the bar area and paid for my meal. I was traumatized by the maskless environment. A co-worker on break said "welcome to Idaho where everyone does what they want around here." The food was delicious with fresh ingredients. The bar staff, hotess and other co-workers were culturally competent towards me. Their mannerisms appeared authentic. Not sure if I will ever be around this demographic area again but if I am, I will definitely eat at this place again. It will be to go so I won't possibly become exposed to COVID-19. read more

Decent food, amazing view! Their trout is delicious and definitely the star of the show, while the steak was mediocre. We loved sitting out on the patio and watching the sun set over the river. They initially forgot to bring us our bread and huckleberry butter and we were so glad we asked for it. Elevation...I don't know if you've fallen asleep in the sunshine or if you've fallen off the cliff, but our birthday celebration dinner was near the bottom...elevation perhaps 6 feet off the floor. I appreciate there has been a prolonged ammo shortage, but don't serve my shrimp locked and loaded, please. Have you ever had your mouth so dry that your lips stuck to your teeth and your tongue stuck to your palate? The meatloaf was like that...but a sip of water just made it worse. Caesar salad with anchovies for a dollar extra...can you at least chop them up after taking them out if the jar? I suspect the lettuce is pre-chopped since you'd have to be too lazy to discard the brown rotten bits to be employed in a kitchen. Thankfully it was freshly washed...I could tell since I nearly had puddles of salad dressing water at the bottom. Your rolls used to be a happy highlight, but these were tired and stale and remained shamed in their bread basket, uneaten. Ravioli...sauce separated. I guess the oil helped it slide down, so perhaps that's a plus. View was nice so I bumped them to 2, but that's a pity point. Oh how far you have fallen. read more

Stopped in for lunch on our way to the falls. My traveling companion and I split meals so we could try different items on the menu. We ordered the French dip and the Alaskan Halibut fish and chips. I was a bit disappointed in both dishes. The fish was over cooked and the bread on French dip tasted stale and the aujus was salty. The flies were horrible inside the restaurant. We went here last night for my girlfriends birthday. First, the view from this restaurant is spectacular and the interior is very nice. We started with two nice glasses of wine. Elevation has a great selection of wine, beer and cocktails. We started off with a caesar and a mixed green salad. Both salads were great but we both liked the caesar the best. We ordered the ribeye and the pasta carbonara special. The ribeye was nicely cooked with a delicious wine sauce. It only comes with one side which is strange but the baked potato was loaded and delicious. The carbonara was good and had a nice pepper flavor to it. It was almost to much pepper but still very good and it came with shrimp and chicken. Overall, this is a very nice restraunt with good food and an amazing view!!! read more

But the food is also adequate, or even more than adequate. I'd say downright good. I had the wedge salad (at a super-cheap happy hour price) and some potato skins (hey, don't judge. I'm in Idaho.). The first wedge came out kind of crazy--barely a sliver and practically drowned in dressing. But they corrected it and out came a normal-sized, nicely balanced wedge salad. I searched websites for unique dining options, and a few (Only In Your State: Most Unforgettable Setting and Food Network: Best in Idaho) sent me this direction, and I was not disappointed. Beautiful building overlooking the valley, with great service. Anyone visiting the waterfalls should plan on eating here. TIP: I am bummed because we checked out the menu first and found some really cool items that weren't on the menu once we got there. We assumed the website was outdated, BUT those items (including a rice bowl, potato skins, burger) are available in the bar. So consider the bar. I recommend the Green Bean Fries ($7). "Lightly battered" (not really), flash-fried, served with roasted red pepper aioli. Considering the portion size (and the bread w/ huckleberry butter), we were almost too full for our entrees. My stomach just laughed at me as I typed that. We both got the Spicy Sesame Noodle Bowl. We were slightly disappointed to get soup, as we thought was over coconut rice, as stated in the bar menu, but it was tasty: snow peas, asparagus, broccolini, mushrooms, sweet peppers, cilantro and rice noodles, in a savory, slightly-spicy Asian broth. A little pricey at $14 veggie/$19 chicken, so the elevation isn't the only thing that is high, but I'd return. read more

What a great ending to a day of exploring the area! Arrived at the end of happy hour and was able to grab a table near the window to enjoy the gorgeous view of the Snake River, the Perrine bridge and the valley golf course. We order appetizers and drinks to start off then once 5pm hit ordered dinner. Our waitress was spectacular! The steak was cooked perfect and the chicken delicious, not spicy even with a sauce which includes curry. To wrap up the dessert was divine. The view is absolutely beautiful. I thought the food was ok. I ordered the steak with chimmichuri sauce and fries. The fries were not good. Way overcooked but the steak was good and the the chimichiri was not was I am used to, it was more like green chili. Overall I really enjoyed hanging out there. Had a Saturday evening reservation with great expectations. Started with cocktails and was surprised with my old fashion. It was hands down the absolute worst old fashion I've ever had. It resembled something I'd throw together back in high school. After a few drinks I asked the waiter to Lose terrible drink and bring me some red wine. I still got charged even though it was trash and removed. Not sure where the bar tender got the idea to fill the glass with crushed ice and a muddled orange. Stick with the classic and spare us the new-wave twist. The dinner was good but not great. Maybe it's the best for the area, but the experience was a flat three star. I can think of 6-8 places in Boise that are much better all around with food, ambiance and wait staff. I suggest you save your $ and find other options. Cheers! read more

We brought our dog so had to sit at the "lower patio" and order at the bar but they still brought the food out to us.
