My first impression was good - the shop was pleasant - clean and organized, and Mike, the owner, was very businesslike yet personable. He gave me a written quote which I thought was a fair price, we agreed to the time-line and I delivered the fabric and the first two chairs the next morning. I returned to La Porte 3 weeks later and the first 2 chairs were finished as promised. Over the course of the next few days he delivered the remaining five chairs, somewhat earlier than expected as he was working overtime to accommodate my travel schedule. The work is excellent as was the customer service from beginning to end. And, as importantly, my mother is pleased to have the project finished. I highly recommend M & R Custom Upholstery.

Therefore, anyone considering having Lynn complete alterations, be forewarned!! -- I took my daughter's prom dress into her a month before prom. We went through everything she wanted/needed to have done and was quoted $200, and then reduced to $170 before we left when I about fell over at the price. We were told to come back 4 days before prom for her final fitting, which we did, only to find that the ONLY thing "done" was that she (had only) started creating the corset back. The hem was not done, nor were the sleeves even touched yet. When I asked about the sleeves (which were to be removed to make it a strapless dress), Lynn said, "oh, you still want that?" YES we still want(ed) that...it was one of the MAIN things my daughter wanted to make the dress look "right" on her. I had to send my daughter by herself to pick up her dress the day before prom since I had to work with cash for payment. I about fell over dead when she text me the invoice for a total of $235!!! I immediately called asking to at least honor the original quote of $200 since that's the amount of cash I sent with her. Lynn did reduce it (to which I'm AM grateful) but let me tell you, the work provided was NOT worth $200! Her hem was just tacked in a few places going around the bottom, there was no bustle done for her train (and therefore proceeded to get stepped on all night long of course), the sleeves were "done" but just so they barely resembled what we requested and lastly, the corset was created BUT didn't even match up on both sides!! She had 7 loops on one side and only 6 on the other (refer to pictures on the google review I submitted). Thankfully(!) I could hide it well enough with the bow that no one else knew but me and my daughter. It became clear to me afterwards that she obviously took on too many jobs and couldn't complete them properly--at least not ours. I work in the bridal industry and have, in the past, recommended Lynn to my brides for alterations. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will never send any of my brides to her. I don't want to have any association in the event that a bride's dress hasn't done as it should be.

They arrived promptly at 8:30 AM, and communicated their plans thoughtfully. I thought for sure they would have to come back on a different day to complete the job-- but indeed they underpromised and overdelivered. They did an exceptional job taking care of our home. They protected wall corners and the bar to avoid damage. No seams can be visible anywhere! They left the place in immaculate condition. Very professional and went above and beyond to ensure we were happy with the job. Special thanks to Autumn, the sales rep who advised us on the carpet choices and pricing options. She was knowledgeable and responsive throughout the entire process. Also, kudos to Mark, the scheduler, who was knowledgeable, professional, and so easy to work with. The quality of their work and their professionalism exceeded all expectations. I highly recommend the entire Creative Carpets team-- Wilfredo Romero and his installation team (Romero Carpets, who does all of Creative Carpets installations) , as well as Autumn and Mark for any carpet or flooring needs! We will be back soon to replace the carpet on a different floor.
