Makes it fun and festive. They had a beautiful charcuterie set up in the middle of the tasting room with many different kinds of cheeses, cured meats, dried fruits, fresh veggie sticks or slices, nuts, chocolate covered fruits, crackers, olives, spreads and breads. They also had this amazing bruschetta made with their own sun gold tomatoes! The whole table was just gorgeous! Couldn't stop eating. We were welcomed with a rosé when we checked in. But if you want more tastes, you simply walk up to the bar and ask for your next toast. I loved that feeling of walking to a bar and asking for my next pour. The "bartenders" were all warm and friendly, and had full knowledge and complete confidence in all their wines. We ended our pick up party with a small walk to take pictures in their rows of vines. Breath taking when it's fail with all the autumn colors. Gorgeous property with good wines.

The tasting was incredible -- our host was a sweetheart -- very knowledgeable about the wines and was so gracious. Loved every wine there -- they all reflect the terroir of the area. Really enjoyed visiting here - one of the most spectacular views of any winery in the area. Big thumbs up.

One of the best small wineries in the area. Their wines were delicious; the whites had a hint of elderflower scent and there was a nice, lighter Chardonnay, not too buttery. For reds, the Cab was full bodied and fruity. Their Malbec tastes authentic and showed off the winemaker's South American roots. Our very knowledgeable and cheerful guide Nicole, said the winemaker came from Chile. Her descriptions were helpful and she had a friendly, energetic enthusiasm which showed a true love of her job. The was a good full plate of cheeses and salamis available. They even gave us a "to go" cup to wander around the grounds, so overall it was a very generous pour to sample! Highly recommended to book in advance and allow time to explore the grounds.

We stumbled across this property on a recent visit with my dad who lives in the area and I'm so glad that we did. We didn't have reservations but we're still accommodated. Chris took us through our tasting for the day and was extremely knowledgeable, friendly, and had a ton of great food recommendations for the area. The estate tasting consisted of 6 wines for $35. We were given a delicious pour of their non vintage brut rose as a welcome pour. I enjoyed all of the wine that we tasted through. Somehow during our visit I missed their lavender gardens but that just means I have to plan another visit.

Their tasting room is located right in the heart of Alexander Valley and is surrounded by lush and vibrant gardens. They have an adorable patio space with great views of both their gardens and vineyards. Their indoor tasting room is so hip and chic. It features a center tasting bar that is surrounded by beautiful artwork and a backwall that showcases their wine cellar. My friend and I came here for a tasting and we had a very pleasant time. Laura was our host and she was really sweet and very knowledgeable about the wines that she poured. She told us about the history of the winery and how it began. It was neat to learn that Medlock Ames was started by two college buddies while they went to school in NYC. Most of their grapes from their wines are sourced from their own vineyards in Bell Mountain. The majority of the wines that are produced here are small lot and limited production. Tastings are $45 and available by reservation only. Although I enjoyed the atmosphere here, I wasn't blown away by any of their wines. My friend is a big fan of their sauvignon blanc and I'll admit that it's tasty and probably their signature wine. It was odd that it wasn't featured on their tasting list, but Laura was nice enough to pour it for us anyways. I'm not usually a fan of merlot, but I actually enjoyed their Jefferson Clone Merlot the best out of all the wines that we tried. I just felt that wines were overpriced for the quality, but it could have just been that my palate didn't align with these particular wines. Despite this, I would still come back again to try more of their wines. Hopefully, I'll find something that I truly like here in the future.
