My son has naturally straight hair and asked for a textured fringe with a taper fade. He showed Ronnie an inspiration photo, and I trusted Ronnie to do what he felt would work best for his hair--and he absolutely executed. What impressed me most is how good the haircut looks even without any product or styling. His hair doesn't just fall flat, and it isn't sticking up or spiky where it shouldn't be. Ronnie gave him a cut that naturally falls into place and looks flattering, clean, and put together throughout the entire day. As a mom, I really appreciate that on those busy mornings when I don't have time to style his hair. That takes real skill, care, and attention to detail. My son says Ronnie is the GOAT BARBER, and he definitely has a forever client in him! Couldn't recommend Ronnie enough.

WHAT A GREAT FIND!!…read more I rarely trust anyone to cut my son's hair but I came on Yelp and found Proper Gents and I'm so glad I did. We booked an appointment a few days out with Jose late in the afternoon for my 4 year old and we luckily had the shop to ourselves. My son has had his hair cut before by a barber, but both Jose and the owner went out of of their way to make sure we both were comfortable - offering to put a kid-friendly show on the tv, asking if we needed water or any other refreshments and Jose offered great conversation! As a black woman in OC, it's hard to find someone good to do our hair and Jose put all my doubts at ease! My son was laughing and smiling during the whole cut (which took about an hour because we were chatting too). I appreciated that Jose was very kind, thorough and willing to go the extra mile to make sure my kiddo left looking great! While we were there the floors were being swept immediately and the place maintained a very high standard of cleanliness. They do have a restroom in the back that we didn't utilize but I appreciate them having one! The decor is awesome too, very LA/Long Beach punk with a twist of guns and roses. They had some great music playing while we were there .. think Santeria/SKA. One of Jose's regulars came in just to say hi and chat with him which just shows the level of respect his customers end up having for him! After showing photos of my son's haircut, I've had a few people reach out being interested to visit. Not to mention my son's haircut was $35 which felt like a great price especially for the wonderful service. Thanks Jose and Proper Gents for the amazing work! Definitely would recommend this place!

Customer service is top notch. Adrian the owner is always making sure that his clients are well hydrated. Carlos has cut our hair several times now and the haircuts have been exactly what we requested and consistent each time. He has never pushed any products, like other barbers, but yesterday my boys wanted to buy some product and he took his time to explain to the how to use the product, etc. If you're looking for a new spot, Vibes won't disappoint. Plus the vibe is always on point with great jams.

When I talked to her, she's not too familiar with the ins and outs of Yelp and her website, so please give her a call on the number listed on this Yelp page or on her website if you have any questions. Sarah is a great, consistent barber that I have been relying on for a while now. She's polite; is very precise with her cuts; and my haircuts have ended up clean every time. She has been dependable, and her services continue to be one of the most affordable as well - I cannot recommend her enough if you're in need of a haircut. As previous reviews note, she only accepts cash for payment. It was $25 for my haircut. The photos listed on here are rather dated, and she appeared to be unsure on how to edit her website or Yelp (previous customers had helped her with these), so PLEASE give her a call if you have any questions at all about her services.
