Additionally, there is always a 3-free day trial which I will take advantage of when time permits. The format is a group fitness class where everyone does a warm up together, the teacher demos each station, the stations happen and then a group finisher with light stretching closes the format out. Blaine's Burn Boot Camp is located within a small strip mall making parking easy. In addition, there is child care onsite for members which personally, I think is a huge draw. For a newbie, there were plenty of sales pitches and call outs during class advertising my first one. Make sure to check out the website as there's a few locations in the Twin Cities including Woodbury. I know that in today's world, media is king. It was fun (and also a tad bit intimidating) to have all the social media videos going around when you're just trying to get your bearings but it is what it is! I will always be a fan of the post workout photo vs action shots. In terms of the workout, it's all stationary based rotating via different movements two times on a floating floor (which is a floor with a slight bounce similar to a gymnastics floor) making it easier on the joints. The format is very cardio driven with lots of opportunities to modify. Some movements included toe tap floor bounces, jump ropes, squats and I enjoyed that it was only 45-minutes. I called around and found CrossFit SISU in Plymouth. It wasn't the closest CrossFit gym to me, but it had great reviews and the schedules they offered seemed to fit with my day. They put me on a one week trial. I was in constant contact with Christina. She answered my questions throughout the trial process. After the first few days, I fell in love with CrossFit and SISU. I met Tyler through a friend of a friend who asked me to sign up with him so they could get a referral discount. I was wary of trying it out because I had my "cardio rat" routine down. I did my 45 min on the treadmill/elliptical/stair master, threw in a couple machine leg sets, and then called it a day. However, the first class I went to with Tyler, I was sold. The classes consist of a lot of conditioning and strength training workouts that use your body weight or kettle bells to kick your ass for 45 min. It's a full body workout and I always leave feeling satisfied that I truly got a workout in. Plus, you see results and continue to see results. I can do more reps faster, I can use heavier kettle bells, and I feel stronger. My bod is more toned than it's ever been and he's serious when he says he can help you "build a better butt." I go to his classes (T, Th, S, and Sun) as consistently as possible and also do a personal training session with him once a week. The personal training is great- it's a time to focus on what you want and try some new lifts, techniques, or workouts. I never considered lifting for strength before Tyler. I was worried I'd hurt myself or get some crazy big muscles. Instead, I'm toned out and have this new confidence in my strength as a female. I could barely squat 45 pounds properly when I started and now I'm squatting over 150 pounds! Long story short, I highly recommend TC Personal Fitness.
