I usually never post things like this, but today I felt extremely disrespected and humiliated at…read moreSalvation Army. An employee was loudly looking for the owner of a Tesla because my dog was inside the car, even though Dog Mode was on, the AC was set to 70 degrees, and the temperature was clearly displayed on the screen. I immediately explained that the car was in Dog Mode and that my dog was completely safe. What bothered me most was that even after the situation was clarified, there was still no apology for the way it was handled publicly. I completely understand people caring about animal safety, but situations like this should be approached respectfully and after actually checking the circumstances first. Tesla Dog Mode exists specifically to keep pets safe and climate controlled while owners briefly go inside stores. Staff should be educated about this before publicly accusing customers.

Lately, I've noticed their tagging methods create holes in their clothing. I've turned down so many items because of the damaged fabric in the middle of a sleeve or outfit. Their competitors prices are higher, but the clothing isn't damaged as the tags are placed in the seams. And they offer returns. Please Salvation Army, be more careful with your tagging so that I can continue to shop your store

I first learned about Indy Clover through a platform I absolutely hate---Instagram, lol!…read more I guess the whole algorithm thing/location-specialized targeting worked out after all: I saw a post about Indy when I opened up Instagram in Oklahoma City. I was pleasantly surprised to learn about yet another sustainable fashion chain of stores with a unique twist to selling. Unlike Plato's Closet or Buffalo Exchange, Indy Clover takes a step beyond in gathering inventory from its consumers---in addition to the inventory it doesn't have to pay for, sellers can rent a booth in the store and add/price the inventory as they please. Indy takes a cut, and oftentimes it easily comes out of the profits sold by the seller from that week. It's definitely a cool concept, and since I learned about the store in Edmond, I decided to check it out for myself. The store itself is very clean and there was plenty in stock. A lot of other curious shoppers (all women) were browsing as well (I only saw one booth that had clothes for men, but anyone can sell it is not restricted to women). I'm definitely a fan and would probably rent out a booth if they were in Austin, just to try it out for myself. Currently, a location is opening in Las Vegas next month and there is only one location in Texas (Plano). I'm super excited to see how this brand expands and in general, how sustainable fashion is getting trendier with each passing day!

And a shopping experience so good, it might just cure your closet trauma. If I hadn't been told, I would've never guessed Uptown Cheapskate was a second-hand store. Their inventory looks better than half the boutiques and department stores I've been to. The amount of clothing is insane, the diversity in style is unmatched, and they actually have great men's fashion too -- not just a sad corner with three plaid shirts and a tie from 2009. And they have a size range from XXS to XXL and bigger, so nobody gets left behind. Everything from workout clothes to business casual, pajamas that keep you warm and pajamas that make you warm. ;) dresses that are long dresses that are short dresses that are sheer dresses that are modest. Skinny jeans, bell bottom, athletic pants, sweatpants, tights that sparkle, to baggy boho pants. With shorts, skirts and short skirts, there's always something to cover your legs. and for accessories From top to bottom and everything in between they got it covered. Hats, socks , purses and sunglass but don't walk away without checking out the shoe selection. the shoes in the men's depart have better soles than most of the people I know. I'm an outfit shopper, not a rack hopper. So I'm always looking for something very particular instead of just browsing and buying it cause I like it. I have to know it's going to be used and for what, so I buy whole outfits at a time or i am there looking for something to add to an outfit or finish one off. And everyone knows that when you need it to be exact, it won't exist . Most stores make that hunt miserable. But Uptown? Their presentation and organizing system are so next-level it's basically GPS for clothes. If a "medium, velvet, waist-length mustard button-up with white lace trim, and a soft rounded eyelet collar existed, I'm confident I could march straight to it. To be honest , the price range is higher than the other second hand stores. it Can be a bummer to find a pair of pants that are three dollars cheaper across the street. but the the selection the inventory and not to mention amazing customer service makes every dime worth it. If you're not fashion savvy, there are plenty of employees who are willing to help you put together a few awesome outfits. How rad is that! I almost forgot about the huge changing Rooms in the back so that you keep your privacy, but still be able to try on that outfit and have enough space to dance around and do the drop test. Buy and sell clothes here. It's better for your budget and the environment And when you soend money on your local stores rather than big box retail, you do your community a service and who doesn't like that!
