What time should you arrive for a 9pm show to get a good seat?

It really depends on the day of the week and the band. During the week can be close to 9 but weekends can depend but maybe 815 or 830. There is normally music happening starting at 6pm so not like you would be bored if you got there early but check… Read more

I would like to come to the show Friday at 6pm, what time should I arrive to ensure I get a table for 4?

Early shows are rarely a problem at all. I'd come at 6pm!

Hi Michael. Thank you for your questions. 1. We do not have a dance floor. Our bar is a listening room. 2. Our performers commonly do not take requests. 3. All of our tables are first come first serve. We do not offer reservations.

How's the scotch and whiskey menu?

Selection could be described as basic.

Can I take my daughter? I'm 42 and she's 8, and I am her sole legal guardian.

No. It's 21+ ;)

I'm 20 and wanted to take my girlfriend here. She loves jazz and she is 21. Will I be able to get in being under 21?

No, you have to be 21.

The ambiance appears to be upscale and feels like a speakeasy. At the back of Parker Jazz club is a very colorful bar, which is something you might likely see in New Orleans, LA. The place is charming, cozy and welcoming. In addition, it is important to note there is a parking garage across the street and ample street parking. Performances range from jazz and swing to Latin influenced sets and special themed nights, featuring both local and touring musicians. It is great to find a venue like Parker Jazz Club that offers live music other than primarily rock and country western music. I saw some great music Saturday night and was lucky to get a chair up close. The seating did fill up and the standing room area was pretty full, so keep that in mind for show times. It was perfect but I wish they had more in stock, we were ready to sip on that sizzurp. Great staff at the bar though! They do have a cover but keep an eye out for deals! We got bogo tix for $25 through ticketmaster. Overall great time at Antone's! I had so much fun and it is within walking distance of so much so great place to see a show.

Getting to downtown on that area is just getting harder with construction and difficulty to find good available parking. The homeless are scattered in that area as well. However, thankfully the show was early in the day and the place made it to be enjoyable at least inside you transfer to the world of music. I didn't stay long to have experience any service, but I did see staff being attentive and ready to clean up tables. The place looks clean and well kept. The darker atmosphere makes it very relaxing and intimate.

This place is an Austin institution and one of the best places in the city to experience live music. This historic venue has been a local hangout for great music since the 1950s. The club was dimly lit with lots of stickers, graffiti, neon signage, paintings and interesting artifacts. While it has been a long time since I have been to the Continental club, it still felt truly Austin and very unpretentious. In the Continental Club you are literally I feet away from the live music. A dog was sleeping on stage, which made the place feel homey. The club is small and intimate, exuding a super personal persona. In addition, the sound quality is excellent for such a small venue. Tonight we listened to Hot Club Cowtown...they sounded folksy and a bit country western yet enjoyable to listen to. Folks were boot scooting, so maybe more country western. Mike the doorman was super personable and helpful. He happily provided the WIFI password and was super engaging. In addition, it is important to note the cover was free until 9 pm. In 2018, I came to TX for my daughter's wedding in SATX, which coincided with my birthday. I decided the easiest way to see my friends was to have them come to the Sahara Lounge. My 50th birthday will always be one of my favorite birthday memories! Friends, great music, and a good atmosphere - it couldn't have been better. So, when I needed to make it back to ATX to pick up some family mementos from my aunt, I thought, "where better than the Sahara to see friends and hear some great music?" SL did not disappoint. Africa Night is the best! The music was hopping and I was able to catch up with friends outside where it's easier to talk. My travelling companion needed to leave a little earlier than I probably would have, but I did get some dancing in before the night ended. I'm not waiting 8 years to return to ATX & when I return, SL will be on my list of places to go! Some places typify the best in Austin and SL is one of those places. Thanks, Eileen!!
